I was one of four bloggers asked by The Hill to write a 500 word essay in answer to this question, “Can the Obama administration forge a peace agreement, and what steps should it be taking in Mideast policy?” It picked two bloggers from each side although only two were posted. The Hill has enormous traffic so I was honoured and relished the opportunity to address a large audience.
My dilemma was in deciding how best to use the 500 words. Here’s my essay. Should I have used the words differently? You can go to the link above to read my opponent’s piece of trash.

Authorities uncover large weapons cache hidden in Sinai, reportedly destined for smuggling into Gaza; more ammunition and explosives seized in Rafah.
Egyptian authorities intercepted a shipment of at least 190 anti-aircraft missiles in Sinai probably destined for Gaza on Saturday, Palestinian news Agency Maan reported.
According to the report, the Egyptian police raided several storage areas in the area and discovered the secret cache hidden in a remote region in the center of the peninsula

New History Channel Documentary on Thomas Jefferson Whitewashes Barbary Islamists

A new History Channel documentary on Thomas Jefferson which premiered Tuesday, August 24 completely whitewashed Muslim North African barbaric piratry and flagrant disregard for free trade — and why the U.S. went to war to stop the Barbary States (c.a. 1801). The documentary never even mentioned the word “Islam” or “Muslim” even though certain Muslim beliefs were an integral part of the historical context in which President Jefferson built up our navy and went to war.
