Muslim Atrocities Against Hindus

** Laura: When can we expect as much indignation from political leaders and media attention regarding real muslim atrocities against actual human beings as we do over the burning of a koran?

** Muslim Persecution of Hindus In India — The Story You Won’t See In the Western Mainstream Media

By Phyllis Chesler

FoxNews.com

They are crossing the border illegally and violently displacing the indigenous population whose homes and possessions they either destroy or occupy. They are attacking the young, the elderly, and especially the girls and women, whom they kidnap, forcibly convert, or traffic into brothels. The locals are terrified of them. The police rarely come to their aid, nor do the politically correct media or government. Both are terrified by the criminals and terrorists who are riding these immigrant waves.

I am not talking about illegal immigrants to Europe or North America. I am describing Muslims who are penetrating India’s West Bengal region. These...

Survey: Israelis Grow More Religiously Observant

Compare these statistics with north American Jewry. THE VANISHING AMERICAN JEW
Yamit

by Maayana Miskin

A special Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) survey has found that more Israeli Jews are becoming increasingly religiously observant than the reverse. 21% of those surveyed said they are currently more religious than they were in the past, while 14% say they are less religious.

Five percent of respondents defined themselves as “chozrim b’teshuva,” a term often used to refer to those raised in non-religious households who choose to become religious as adults. Hareidi-religious respondents were most likely to define themselves as chozrim b’teshuva – a full 22% of them said they were chozrim b’teshuva, compared to 17% of the religious-Zionist community and 9% of the traditional-religious community.

The survey found that even those Jews who defined themselves as secular often observe religious customs. 82% of those calling themselves secular said they...

Jewish Americans Win Alms Race

New research finds Jewish-American families are more likely than those of other faiths to give to charities focusing on basic needs such as food and shelter.

By Tom Jacobs, Miller McCune

That’s the conclusion of a study by economist Mark Ottoni-Wilhelm, just published in the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. After controlling for various factors that influence giving, such as income, education and family size, he found support for organizations focusing on food and shelter “does not vary across Christian denominations and nonaffiliated families in any notable way.”

“However, Jewish families are both more likely to give, and, when they do give, give larger amounts,” adds Ottoni-Wilhelm, who is in the economics department of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

He found 29 percent of American families donate to such organizations in a given year, with an average gift of $490. “This 29 percent is made up of three groups,” he notes....

“Red Square Moscow with IDF Band”

JINSA REPORTS

Large screens behind the band show band members, the Israeli flag and – hold on here – the Knesset, the Western Wall and broad views of Jerusalem. The band chose Fiddler on the Roof, Machar (“Tomorrow”) a modern Israeli favorite, Hava Nagila and “Shalom Aleichem” (with which the Russians were clearly familiar). The faces of the Israeli soldiers are extraordinary – they understand the moment. For those of us old enough to have grandfathers who fled Russia to escape the Czar’s Army, not to mention “duck and cover” in school in fear of the Soviets, watching a large and enthusiastic Russian audience clap in time to the IDF Band on Red Square with the Kremlin lit up in the background is eye-popping.

Coincidentally (?), Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak was in Russia last week to sign a military cooperation agreement, declaring Israel “ready to continue sharing experience with the Russian military on...

9/11 and “ideological termites”

David Solway in his latest article 9/11 Betrayal says that public intellectuals are “ideological termites tunneling away at the very structure and foundations of Western civilization.” You have to be a poet, which he is, to write something so good.

One knows by now that the overwhelming majority of public intellectuals and tenured and untenured academics long ago sold out to the enemies of the democratic West—indeed, have themselves become the enemies of the democratic West, ideological termites tunneling away at the very structure and foundations of Western civilization. As far back as 1927, in his The Treason of the Intellectuals [2] (La Trahison des Clercs) Julian Benda warned us about the subversive agenda of an intellectual consistory that could not be expected to think straight, to feel loyalty to their mentoring traditions or to hasten to the defense of the civilization which nurtured them. They came of age in a culture which gave them the freedom to think, speak...

Palestinians: Netanyahu to accept understandings reached by Olmert

The key to stopping BB is Lieberman. He has been shunt aside by BB in favor of Barak. If he breaks, BB and his government falls. Lieberman would assume the mantle Leader, of the Israeli right and no doubt beat Livini or any other contender for the top job. I don’t like or trust him but I don’t like the others either. Stopping BB now is a national priority. First things first! Yamit

PA sources say prime minister will respect understandings reached by his predecessors despite his reservations; Palestinians decide renewed settlement construction insufficient reason to stop talks

Ali Waked
Palestinian sources said Sunday that Israel agreed that negotiations would not start from scratch, and that in some issues, understandings reached by former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will form the basis for talks. Israel, however, denied the Palestinian claims.

The Palestinian sources declined to say which issues were involved, but said the understandings dealt with security issues and...

Settlers ready to declare ‘war’ on Netanyahu

BB is not just a compulsive habitual LIAR, He is an abysmal compulsive habitual LIAR! Yamit

By GIL HOFFMAN AND REBECCA ANNA STOIL

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who came to power promising to be the settlers’ advocate, officially became their adversary on Sunday when they changed their relatively moderate tone and “declared war” on him.

The trigger to the settlers’ change in tactics was Netanyahu’s hint at Sunday’s Likud ministerial forum that the 10-month construction moratorium could partially continue. The settlers warned him that if the freeze continues, his premiership would not.

“If Netanyahu continues the freeze, we would see it as a declaration of war,” said Samaria Regional Council head Gershon Mesika. “We would do everything possible to topple the prime minister, because from our standpoint, there would be no difference between Netanyahu, Tzipi Livni, Ehud Barak, and Balad.” Read Full Article
