In an incomprehensible moral equivocation, The NY Times is equating our rally against the 15-story mega mosque to be built on the site of a building that was partially destroyed in the attacks on September 11 in the name of Islam, with the slaughter and persecution of Christians and the church in Indonesia. Insane? Yes. Moral rot? Yes. Regular Atlas readers are painfully aware of the merciless attacks on Christians in the largest Muslim country in the world, Indonesia. Go here for more. In another bloody, savage attack, Muslims seriously injured two leaders of a small congregation of Indonesian Christians. A church elder was stabbed in the stomach, and a female priest was hit in the head with a plank. Here is how the NY Slimes framed it: Last week, one day after Americans opposed to the construction of an Islamic center in Lower Manhattan pledged to “Stop the Islamization of America,” a group of Islamists rallied in Bekasi, outside the Indonesian capital, to fight the “Christianization” of Indonesia, by blocking the planned construction of a church. The Times is literally equating us with them. Yes, according to the NY Times, SIOA is just like these murderers in Indonesia against the church. Tens of thousands joined Robert and me in appealing to the extreme Imam Rauf to be sensitive and tolerant and human, something Islamic supremacists are incapable of. The NY Times is comparing the 70% of Americans opposed to the Ground Zero mega mosque with bloody murdering jihadists. NY Times reporters were trained by Rauf, so this is hardly surprising. The hatred of the good for being the good -- Ayn Rand. Indonesian Islamists Fear ‘Christianization’ by ROBERT MACKEY Indonesia, the country with the world’s largest Muslim population, is engaged in a debate about religious tolerance that might seem familiar to Americans. Last week, one day after Americans opposed to the construction of an Islamic center in Lower Manhattan pledged to “Stop the Islamization of America,” a group of Islamists rallied in Bekasi, outside the Indonesian capital, to fight the “Christianization” of Indonesia, by blocking the planned construction of a church. Two leaders of the small congregation of Indonesia Christians in Bekasi were seriously wounded when the rally against their planned church by vigilantes from the Islamic Defenders’ Front, or F.P.I., turned violent. Murhali Barda, who leads Bekasi’s chapter of the Islamist vigilante group, was arrested on suspicion of leading the attacks on a church elder, who was stabbed in the stomach, and a female priest, who was hit in the head with a plank. In June, the Bekasi F.P.I. leader told The Jakarta Globe, “All Muslims should unite and be on guard because … the Christians are up to something.” He also suggested that it might be necessary for mosques to establish militias and be prepared to fight a “war” to prevent “Christianization.” As Al Jazeera explained in a video report last week, the small Christian group said that it had obtained all the necessary signatures from local residents who agreed to allow them to build their church, but then the Islamist vigilantes pressed people to withdraw their approval. F.P.I. vigilantes have attacked a wide range of targets in the past, throwing rocks at members of minority Muslim sects, beating gay people, destroying bars and vowing to track down the editor of Indonesia’s short-lived version of Playboy magazine, Erwin Arnada, who is now in hiding. As Reuters explained in June when the vigilantes attacked a group of Indonesian legislators, the F.P.I. “attracts limited support in moderate, majority Muslim Indonesia, but fear of being seen as defending vice means politicians and police often turn a blind eye to their attacks on targets, such as transvestites, which are deemed un-Islamic.” Indonesians who want to ban the group have launched a Facebook campaign to do so. Others have taken to mocking the vigilantes through posts to a fake Twitter account set up in the group’s name. The same month, Yenny Wahid, of Jakarta’s Wahid Institute — which “is committed to the exchange and dissemination of progressive Muslim thought to promote tolerance and understanding” — told The Jakarta Globe, “Anarchism on behalf of religion is increasing, and the government seems to fear any group that uses Islam.” She added, “We do not want to be like Afghanistan under the Taliban.” Posted by Pamela Geller on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 01:02 AM in Leftist MEDIA JIHAD aligned with Terror Force, SIOA: Stop the Islamization of America | Permalink | Comments (6) ShareThis Reblog (0) | | Digg This | Save to del.icio.us | Tweet This! During the weekend of October 22-24, mosques are asked to hold open houses and welcome non-Muslims to visit and learn more about Islam…. Well, you have to admire the sheer moxie of these subversives. The answer to the 97% of Americans who oppose the Ground Zero mosque because of location is -- proselytizing to Islam. I kid you not. The Muslim Brotherhood axis are asking all mosques to throw open their doors to non-Muslims (non-Muslims are only allowed in mosques by invitation only and for proselytizing). They are emboldened and they are digging in their heels. The decent thing to do would be to move the Ground Zero mosque and show consideration and kindness to those deeply hurt and offended by this Islamic supremacist mosque at Ground Zero. Show the West reciprocity. Mutual respect. Mutual understanding. Not possible for Islamic supremacists. One opponent of the project dismissed the upcoming week of events at mosques as a “complete diversion.” Jim Riches, whose son, afirefighter, died on Sept. 11, said he wasn’t interested in getting an education on the Muslim religion. “They’re not addressing the issue. The issue is there’s 9/11 families whose sons were murdered by Muslims,” Riches said. Opposition to Park51 is “not anti-Muslim, it’s anti-location,” he added. Imam Feisal ducked this presser due to "security concerns." Give me a break. we are getting the death threats and this stealth jihadist is whining about security concerns. Sick. National Muslim Leaders Call For Increased Interreligious Dialogue By: NY1 News Muslim leaders from across the country are asking for a "National Week For Dialogue" next month, in reaction to the controversy over a proposed Islamic cultural center near the World Trade Center. Members of 20 of the nation's leading Muslim organizations asked for tolerance and said that Americans of all faiths have the right to build houses of worship where they please. During the weekend of October 22-24, mosques are asked to hold open houses and welcome non-Muslims to visit and learn more about Islam. "It is a hope and desire that these events will help to allay tensions in society caused by the Park51 controversy and will build bridges of understanding that unite and strengthen our nation," said Imam Al-Amim Latif of the Islamic Leadership Council. The developer of the community center, Sharif El-Gamal, attended the summit. The proposed center's imam, Faisal Abdul Rauf, did not attend due to security reasons. The coalition is also encouraging Muslims to reach out and attend services of other religions to increase understanding. UPDATE: Another misunderstander of Islam: "HASSOUN, according to a law enforcement source close to this author, is a “devout Muslim and permanent legal resident from Lebanon.” He appeared on the radar screen of federal authorities in early June, when he solicited assistance and advice from associates to “wage jihad on the streets of America.” Imagine a bomb going off when thousands are leaving Wrigley Field after a Dave Matthews concert. FBI: Man plotted to bomb Wrigleyville night spots (Chicago Breaking News) hat tip Armaros A Northwest Side man has been charged with plotting to bomb a strip of crowded Wrigleyville night spots around the time people were leaving a Dave Matthews concert at the ballpark over the weekend. Sami Samir Hassoun, 22, of the 4700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, was arrested as he placed a backpack containing what he thought were high-explosives in a trash can in front of Sluggers on Clark Street, about a block south of Wrigley Field, according to the FBI. (Read the federal complaint HERE.) The bomb was a fake provided by an undercover federal agent. "At no time was the public in danger during this investigation," the FBI said. Houssoun had also discussed other violent plots in Chicago, including a biological attack on the city, poisoning Lake Michigan, attacking police officers, bombing the Willis Tower and assassinating Mayor Richard Daley, the FBI said. Unknown to Hassoun, his associate was secretly cooperating with the FBI, the agency said. Throughout the summer, he allegedly discussed with the associate the violent plots, but eventually selected the Wrigleyville area as his target, "utilizing an explosive device which he would detonate on a weekend night to inflict maximum damage," the FBI stated. In July, the associate introduced Hassoun to an undercover federal agent who claimed he was from California and had access to explosives. While meeting with the agent, Hassoun discussed several plots and scenarios that would make a dramatic impact on Chicagoand force Daley to resign, the FBI stated. Hassoun eventually settled on a bombing outside a strip of Wrigleyville bars and nightclubs, the FBI said. On Saturday night, Hassoun met with the agent, who provided him with a backpack that Hassoun thought contained high-powered explosives, according to the FBI. The agent showed Hassoun how it worked, though it reality it was made of inert materials and unable to explode, the agency said. Early Sunday morning, Hassoun and the agent went in a rented vehicle toward Wrigleyville as crowds were leaving Wrigley Field after a concert by the Dave Matthews Band, the FBI said. As agents watched, Hassoun placed the fake explosive into a trash container near Eddy and Clark, the FBI said. He was arrested and the fake device was recovered. The root of production is man’s mind; the mind is an attribute of the individual and it does not work under orders, controls and compulsion, as centuries of stagnation have demonstrated. Progress cannot be planned by government, and it cannot be restricted or retarded; it can only be stopped, as every statist government has demonstrated. Ayn Rand. If Weiner's abuse of power isn't right out of Ayn Rand's opus, I don't know what. NY Congressman Anthony Weiner said that he will hold a hearing on what he calls “TV Gold Dealers -- a Weinerian form of a bill of attainder against Goldline International and Glenn Beck." Anthony Weiner is a dangerous demagogue. He is hardly talented or smart enough to be considered Machiavellian, but it is surely what he aspires to. He recently married Huma Abedin, Hillary's body double, after a fierce whispering campaign in the gay (and very left) community had hercloserthanthanthis with Hillary. And Weiner does everything for a reason. The gossip was on fire back in November 2007 when Michael Musto, gossip of the dish, said they were involved in the downtown gossip rag extraordinaire, Paper, and another hippie bible, the Village Voice. The page was taken down, but here it is in the wayback machine. Abedin grew up in Saudi Arabia. Her father was a leading "Islamic scholar." Whether Weiner had to convert to Islam for her remains to be known. But this is a political marriage, and Weiner is a very small, very dangerous little man. He does everything for a reason -- a calculating operator. There is not one dinner or event for Israel that I have attended where he doesn't show up, uninvited, and demand to speak for the "zionist" wing of the anti-semitic party (the Democrats). He gives the impression that he is Jewish (he is not), and works the Jewish vote while stabbing us in the back. After reading this story, I am going to figure out how to buy a coin from Goldline. Seriously. They have to defend themselves against these trumped-up charges. This is criminal government out of control. They are going after anyone who speaks out against the new fascism in America. This is a witchhunt. Editorial of The New York Sun | September 17, 2010 What an astonishing set of issues has been opened up with the announcement yesterday by Congressman Anthony Weiner that he will hold a hearing on what he calls “TV Gold Dealers.” The congressman put out on his Web site yesterday a statement that makes the hearing seem like it will prepare a Weinerian form of a bill of attainder against Goldline International and Glenn Beck (not a Robo6 fav). Goldline is a dealer that Mr. Weiner characterized as using “conservative spokespeople like Fox News’ Glenn Beck to sell overpriced gold coins.” It seems that one of the advantages perceived in respect of gold coins, as opposed to bullion, is that they would be less likely to be confiscated were the government to try in the current economic crisis, when the value of the dollar has collapsed to less than a 1,200th of an ounce of gold, to confiscate gold the way another Democratic administration, FDR’s, did during the Great Depression. Mr. Weiner seems to think that worrying about another Great Depression should be illegal. One of the things Mr. Weiner’s bill would seek to do is prevent gold companies from hiding behind “false promises of profitablility.” The measure would require what Mr. Weiner calls “companies like Goldline” to “disclose the reasonable resale value of items being sold.” To which Ira Stoll, on the Website Futureofcapitalism.com, retorts: “Are Mr. Weiner and Chairman Bernanke also going to agree to print on every dollar the reasonable expectation that its value will be eroded by inflation?” As Mr. Weiner was putting the announcement of his gold hearing up on his Web site, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, Alan Greenspan, was over at the Council on Foreign Relations warning that “fiat money has no place to go but gold.” Our editorial yesterday quoted Mr. Greenspan: “If all currencies are moving up or down together, the question is: relative to what? Gold is the canary in the coal mine. It signals problems with respect to currency markets. Central banks should pay attention to it.” UPDATE: More ..... The hearing will be based on a Congressional inquiry launched by Weiner in which he points to an alleged “unholy alliance” between Goldline and conservative commentators in the media. Jihadist: Hajjaj said he "routinely harassed and sometimes missed flights when he traveled to and from Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage to Mecca. "It was an awful experience under the Bush administration," "Now under Obama, I have no complaints." We are under attack from within. What's it going to take, America? US Rep. Gregory Meeks scolded immigration officials for questioning a Muslim scholar whose nonprofits have been linked to financing terrorism. The Queens Democrat contacted federal agencies -- finally appealing to then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff -- asking why Anwar Hajjaj faced "unwarranted scrutiny" when he returned to the United States from trips abroad through JFK Airport. Meeks described Hajjaj as a "highly regarded" professor of Islamic studies who leads Friday Muslim prayers at the Capitol. Meeks said Hajjaj was "a pioneer in distance-based learning of Islam" through the American Open University in Virginia, according to a copy of the Sept. 30, 2006, letter to Chertoff, which was obtained by The Post under a Freedom of Information Act request. But The Post has learned Hajjaj also headed the Taibah International Aid Association, a charity that has been accused of funding Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. The group was co-founded by Abdullah A. bin Laden, Osama bin Laden's nephew, who has been investigated for his ties to groups that have funded al Qaeda and Hamas. Hajjaj is also director of another Virginia-based nonprofit, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth International, or WAMY. It was also founded by bin Laden's nephew and said to support al Qaeda. The group's 2005 federal tax form, the most recent available, is signed by Hajjaj, who is listed as director. Steven Emerson, executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, said WAMY has been a financial and ideological supporter of Islamic terrorist organizations. A WAMY publication lists people who have attacked Israelis as "heroes of Palestine" and referred to Jews as "humanity's enemies," according to a 2003 affidavit by a customs special agent. Both organizations are named as defendants in several ongoing civil lawsuits filed on behalf of families of 9/11 victims. A 2004 complaint filed in one of the suits alleges that although Taibah "purports to be a humanitarian organization, the Taibah International Aid Association furthers the aims and materially supports Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda." Hajjaj is not specifically named as a defendant in the suit, but the complaint does say Taibah's directors and officers, including Hajjaj, are material sponsors and co-conspirators of al Qaeda and international terrorism. The complaint says WAMY, founded in Saudi Arabia in 1972, has been identified by the FBI as a suspected terrorist organization since 1996. In a decision in the lawsuit made last week, US District Court Judge George Daniels refused to dismiss WAMY as a defendant, saying the allegations against the group are "sufficient to demonstrate that they are knowingly and intentionally providing material support to al Qaeda." Hajjaj was not arrested when he entered JFK after visiting the Middle East, but was pulled aside and questioned. Meeks defended his letter: "As a member of Congress and a proud New Yorker who deeply feels the loss of all families afflicted by the 9/11 attacks, my No. 1 priority is to do everything in my power to ensure the safety and security of all Americans. "At the same time, I also adamantly believe that securing our homeland must be done without risking the unfair or discriminatory treatment of any in our society as is our constitutional duty. To that end, several years ago it was brought to my attention that several Muslim American citizens faced what they felt was undue scrutiny from Department of Homeland Security officials at many US airports, including JFK. "I sent letters to inquire about the treatment of two Muslim American citizens in particular that felt they were treated unfairly at US ports of entry." Hajjaj, 65, told The Post that he was routinely harassed and sometimes missed flights when he traveled to and from Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage to Mecca. "It was an awful experience under the Bush administration," he said. "Now under Obama, I have no complaints." Here is a very revealing account given by Raheel Raza, a leading Muslim reformer, award-winning writer, diversity consultant, documentary film maker and interfaith advocate, and founding member of the Muslim Canadian Congress. I feel no need to give a defense of my actions as everyone has the right to pursue the truth. It’s been a turbulent two months with many ups and downs. However, I have written a report about my visit to New York, since I met the organizers, asked questions and was able to make an informed opinion. Events that followed have only confirmed my stance. Hence, I owe it to myself and to those following these events to give an accurate account of my visit. Let me share it with you Jamie and with Frontpage’s readers: At 5:57 p.m. on Monday August 16, 2010, my cell phone rang. The man asked me: “Is this Raheel Raza?” I automatically said yes. He said “I am Sharif El Gamal – do you remember you dared jump into a meeting called by Daisy Khan for 9/11 victims in New York?” I was a bit shocked at the tone but I retorted “I was invited to that meeting.” He said curtly, “No, you were not.” I tried to explain that I went as a guest of a 9/11 widow. “You were not invited,” he said again, and then added: “I am an American and a Muslim and may Allah protect you.” These words sent chills down my back. It took only one minute for the veneer of ‘tolerance’ to be peeled away, and the reality of the agenda became crystal clear. I had decided to go to New York on Tuesday, August 10, to attend a meeting hosted by the ASMA Society as a guest of Maureen Basnicki, who is the widow of a 9/11 victim. I wanted to see and hear firsthand what the Ground Zero mosque was all about, to ask some important questions and to deliver a message that this is not a good idea. When I arrived at the meeting, there were about 30 people in the room, most of them 9/11 survivors and their families. Some were carrying placards saying LOCATION which they respectfully kept under their chairs. The meeting was chaired by Gerry Bogacz, who is part of the 9/11 Community for Common Ground. There were no formal introductions of people around the table. However, as soon as the organizers started speaking, I knew that this was not about sincere intentions but a con-job, a cover-up for a subversive agenda and all about the money. Ms. Daisy Khan spent 20 minutes telling us about her life and work. Eventually, she came to the mosque project and said that this monument (Ground Zero Mosque/Cordoba Institute/ Park 51) is to help shape Islam in America. She also said that the idea has garnered support not only in the U.S. but “would be replicated all over the world.” She was joined by Mr. Sharif El Gamal, CEO of Soho Properties. The slick Mr. Gamal took another 15 minutes to tell his life story, explaining that he was a born American of mixed heritage and that he had feelings for the people in the room. He mentioned that he had been looking for a property in Manhattan since 2002 and that he had bought this building in 2005. Finally, they opened the meeting up for questions. (Interesting note in retrospect that neither Mr. Gamal nor Ms. Khan addressed me the entire evening, although they know who I am). This was the flavor of the Q & A: Q: How do you not expect a backlash when Muslims killed nearly 3,000 people? Where is Imam Faisal and where is the funding going to come from? Gamal: Those were not Muslims – they are not my brothers and sisters and this is not our belief system. We never have anticipated such a backlash to our project so this is a surprise. Ms. Khan: It’s the start of the month of Ramadan in which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and in this time Imam Faisal is travelling to build bridges. Q: Where will the funding come from? Gamal: We have not raised funds yet but we will not accept any funds that compromise American values. Q: What is the mission statement of the Cordoba Center? Gamal: The project’s name is Park 51. It will be like a YMCA and promote tolerance and understanding between people. Woman in the audience: The YMCA is a secular place. Me: If you are a feeling, caring American how come you were not aware that this location might be problematic? And since you purchased the property in 2005, how have you spent the last 5 years in outreach, bridge-building, garnering community support and fund raising? Gamal: I never thought the location would be such a sore point and no, we did not do any outreach until now. I honestly never thought I would be sitting here giving a defense. I can’t imagine what all the fuss is about. Me: How naĆÆve can you be not to be aware that this location is sensitive to Americans? Are you not concerned that a majority of Americans are against this project going ahead at this location? Gamal: I honestly did not think the location would be a problem. We need the space. Me: Are you going to get funds from outside the U.S.? (I asked this 3 times) Gamal: I can’t answer that question. Q: Why not move to another location? (No response) Mike (a retired New York City Police officer): You are very good at filibusters and you have not said anything right tonight. Q: Historically mosques have been built in places of conquest and why have the larger Muslim communities not come out to support you? Why do the Imams not condemn the terrorists? Ms. Khan: There have been no new terrorist attacks because of our diligence as Muslims. Firemen # 1: I was at 9/11. This project is insensitive and insulting because we saw TV images of Muslims celebrating the 9/11 tragedy around the world. Now I’m supposed to embrace the idea of a mosque at that very spot? Can you build it somewhere else? Fireman # 2: Building it where you are is pouring salt on my wounds and I resent that. You say you need a mosque. We need our twin towers back. Can you help rebuild those? Fireman # 3: No construction worker, no fireman or police officer who wears a cap saying Never Again, will work on this project and I hope it fails. I hope you don’t get the funds to make this happen. I hope you discard this project. After attending this meeting, I discovered was that there was no transparency, no honest answers and therefore no sincerity of intention. Mr. Gamal was like a used car salesman: contradicting himself, prevaricating and being evasive. He spoke about everything except the make and model of the car. Ms. Khan was described by one of the women as a “cult-type leader” because she answered every question with a lecture about Islam. I suspect that the organizers already have a green light from the US State Department or the White House. Otherwise they would not have been so arrogant as to ignore the cries of the victims and their friends and families. They did not care for the opinions of the community, when clearly the majority of those present were against the project. Ms. Basnicki who was with me, has this to say: “I went to this meeting with mixed feelings. I was eager to assert that as a Canadian I found it easy to accept religious tolerance. However I left the meeting with even more confusion. Simple questions such as where is the funding coming from for this $100 million center, renamed Park51 were not answered. This was not a bridge building meeting……..it caused greater unease and a much larger gulf.” Read the whole thing. The Islamic machine is in full throttle. I discussed the infiltration of the highest echelons of the media in this piece at Big Journalism back in January:The Society of Professional Journalists: Why We Never Get the Straight Story on Islamic Jihad We see it over and over again. Just look at the coverage of our rally to stop the Ground Zero mosque on September 11th. The media claimed we had 1,000 (less than the paltry "counter protest"). We had close to 30,000, the anti-America haters had 800 (maybe). Rauf 's group is claiming credit for training the NY Times reporter who first wrote of the Ground Zero mosque where Rauf said, “'New York is the capital of the world, and this location close to 9/11 is iconic,' Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, 61, the cleric leading the project..." (That quote was subsequently scrubbed from the article.) It was an offensive piece, pure taqiya, a silly puff piece by a silly puff. I blogged on it back in December when it ran -- here. Rauf claims here that he is pulling the strings at the state department and in developing foreign policy and in the media. Rauf said: I’m the head coach of this strategic initiative, and the President of the United States, or the President of Malaysia, or the President of England, is like a player you want to bring in for particular plays. Imam Rauf So if we have strategic action plays, designed plays, in the area of foreign policy, in the area of healing the divide, and then you unpack and give up Israel, and then what do you do, what are the specific actions that you might do, because things are always moving, things are always happening. And he stresses the role the media plays: It's not like one team is on the field and the other team is off. They are all on the field, and the field has many sectors to it. And there are different geographies, different subject areas, so we have designed our Cordoba Initiative to be designed, in order words we have 5 major areas of our program. So we have foreign policy, is one area, you have communications is another area, you have education as the third area, for example, you have intra-Islamic issues is the fourth area, arts and culture is the fifth area. If the entertainment media, the news media, was broadcasted in print, describe and speak about the issues in a different way it can help change perceptions profoundly, because it’s the media, which helps shape perceptions to a great degree. - Interestingly enough it doesn’t mean that the head coach is necessarily the President, because, of whatever country, or Prime Minister, because they may not be, they may still be, trapped by various constraints in an old game. - No we’ve created a different concept a different model, Mark. I’m the head coach of this strategic initiative, and the President of the United States, or the President of Malaysia, or the President of England, is like a player you want to bring in for particular plays. Rauf's Group Claims Credit for 'Training' NY Times Reporter IPT A reporter who helped write the first and positive New York Times story on the Ground Zero Mosque was trained by the group run by mosque leader Feisal Abdul Rauf, according to that group's website. Rauf's organization, the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), touted the journalist's participation in a training program by ASMA's "Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow" (MLT). "Media trainings showed immediate results," ASMA's 2009year-end report said. Rauf's group then cited Sharaf Mowjood, "a journalism student at Columbia University and trained at the MLT [Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow] conference, wrote a compelling story about the Muslim community's plan to establish a center near Ground Zero. The story was published on the front page of the New York Times with Sharaf as co-author." The article appeared in the Dec. 9, 2009, edition of the New York Times. Mowjood could not be reached for comment. In an email, Times Metro Editor Joe Sexton, disputed ASMA's representation about the program Mowjood attended. "He participated in no training sessions sponsored by ASMA or the Cordoba Initiative," Sexton wrote. He attended a lecture sponsored by ASMA in 2008. He was not a presenter or participant. He signed the sign-in sheet." Sexton added that "The experienced reporters here who have worked with him have had no questions about his professionalism." A picture from the MLT conference indicates the session was more than a lecture. Mowjood is seen seated at a conference table as another person speaks. Sharaf Mowjood, third from the right and wearing the vest, listens intently to a fellow panelist at the ASMA media training session in 2009. The media training was conducted April 25 and 26, 2009, according to an email update sent by the program in May 2009. "The conference focused specifically on the media," according to the ASMA email. "It offered participants a diverse range of intensive media trainings, imparting the MLTs in attendance with concrete tools to become effective media spokespeople." The Dec. 9, 2009, Times story about the Ground Zero Mosque was written with veteran reporter Ralph Blumenthal. It featured few dissenting voices about the wisdom of building the project near the scene of the attacks. Instead, it characterizes Rauf as "Imam Feisal," who "follows a path of Islam focused more on spiritual wisdom than on strict ritual, and as a bridge builder, he is sometimes focused more on cultivating relations with those outside his faith than within it." Mowjood previously worked as a government relations manager for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The FBI cut off communications with CAIR in 2008, citing evidence in the Hamas-support prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). Exhibits admitted into evidence in that case place CAIR as an arm of a Hamas support network in America. Prosecutors say that CAIR was "a participant in an ongoing and ultimately unlawful conspiracy to support a designated terrorist organization, a conspiracy from which CAIR never withdrew." And an FBI official wrote that the cut off would last "until we can resolve whether there continues to be a connection between CAIR or its executives and Hamas." Can't we stop electing the Peter Pans to Congress?" Exiting AF Intel Chief: No US Air Superiority Stars and Stripes OXON HILL, Md. -- The U.S. Air Force’s former top intelligence officer warned a roomful of generals this week that the U.S. has lost its air power advantages and is dangerously ill-prepared to stop the gap-closing efforts of China and Russia. Lt. Gen. David Deptula, a former F-15 pilot, challenged Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ fundamental belief that U.S. air power vastly overmatches any foreign military. “For the first time, our claim to air supremacy is in jeopardy,” Deptula told the Air Force Association’s national convention on Monday. At the same forum last year, Gates defended ordering a halt to the production of the Air Force’s vaunted F-22, saying that by the time China produces a fighter comparable to the F-22, the U.S. will have more than 1,000 F-22s and F-35s. The Air Force Association has openly opposed Gates’ stance and this year Deptula came armed with a 15-minute bombastic video titled “Threats to 2010 Air Supremacy.” His presentation attempted to reopen more than just the F-22 fight, warning that from surface-to-air defenses to air-to-air fighters, the U.S. was letting others catch up. These future threats, he said, are now current. There is “a global revolution to modernize air defense systems,” the video’s narrator explained. Russia and China are deploying or building better surface-to-air missile, or SAM, systems that could one day prove too much for U.S. fighter aircraft. Within the decade, it said, both nations could field fighter jets nearly comparable to the F-22. “When taken in total, our potential adversaries can create a nearly impenetrable box that our legacy fighters cannot enter, thus denying us our air supremecy,” it said. After showing the video, Deptula dismissed “the notion of overmatch in the realm of air dominance,” a reference to the Gates position. It is unclear how much weight Deptula will be able to lend to those in the Air Force, or on Capitol Hill, clamoring to defend air power procurement programs. Gates frequently has said he wants the Pentagon to prioritize building a force and arsenal ready to meet the most current and plausible threats. So far, Gates has been largly successful, and Deputla’s presentation was riddled with worst-case scenarios. “The dominance we’ve enjoyed in the aerial domain is no longer ours for the taking,” Deptula said. Imam Rauf is a self defined "bridge builder." "The chasm between Islam and Jahiliyyah is great, and a bridge is not to be built across it so that the people on the two sides may mix with each other, but only so that the people of Jahiliyyah may come over to Islam. Sayyid Qutb, Milestones, 263. "Once it became a rallying cry for extremists, we had no choice but to stand with Feisal Rauf," said Dr. Shaik Ubaid, referring to the New York City imam who has been leading the drive for the center. The leading Muslim Brotherhood proxies have descended on Ground Zero to conduct a war summit in the informational battle space on the Ground Zero mosque. Their strategy in the war of ideas is Goebbels-style propaganda. Once it became a rallying cry for fundamentalists, the Muslim Brotherhood said it had to stand with them or against them? Islamic supremacists should not be allowed a victory for their violent intimidation. That is very basic to any free man, that is. Every one of these groups listed below is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, as entered into evidence in the largest Hamas funding trial in US history, the Holy Land Foundation trial. According to an internal, captured document entered into evidence in the Holy Land trial, the stated goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is "eliminating and destroying western civilization from within." SIOA/FDI is calling for a full-scale investigation by the Department of Justice, or a special Congressional investigation of these groups. The Brotherhood plays an active role today in promoting Islamic terrorism against US interests (more here). This weekend's Muslim Brotherhood pack of subversive groups is gathering to plot how they can ram the Ground Zero mega-mosque down our infidel throats while playing the victim and beating us about the head with racism! bigotry! islamoshmobia! Sheik Ubaid of the Islamic Leadership Council of Metropolitan New York, which is one of the groups organizing the gathering, said he has a growing sense that the project is being embraced by American Muslims and Muslim groups after some initial trepidation. The bottom line is that any other group, any other organization would have been sensitive to the cry of millions of Americans, and would have quietly withdrawn this monument to jihad. Any other decent and compassionate group would have done the right thing. But instead, we get threats of violence and accusations, libel and slander, every cheap trick in the book, to build what will inevitably be the icon for Islamic jihad across the world -- Mecca on the Hudson. Whether we see it that way or not is irrelevant ......the ummah will see it that way. Cordoba indeed. CBS News reports that Shaik Ubaid said that he had a growing sense that the project was being embraced as a cause. Yes, the cause of America. CBS does not report that Dr. Shaik Ubaid is an activist associated with Jamaat-e-Islami, an international (mainly South Asian) jihadist organization. Dr Ubaid was the founder of IMC-USA (Indian Muslim Council-USA). A friend of mine, Moorthy Muthuswamy, shared some criticism of Jamaat-e-Islami in a Yahoo group, supposedly secular, and he was surprised to see an IMC-USA leader defend the Islamic supremacist philosophy and even the imposition of Islamic rule. The IMC-USA (Indian Muslim Council-USA) is obviously a Jamaat-e-Islami front. This is a short take on one Shaik Ubaid, the organizer behind the “Muslim Summit” to be held today in New York to discuss the proposed “Ground Zero” mosque and more, from Moorthy Muthuswamy: Dr. Ubaid is an American Muslim physician of Indian origin. As author of a recent book on radical Islam that gives an unprecedented view of jihad in India, I have had a chance to follow Dr. Ubaid’s thought process for almost ten years. Specifically, I have noted his reaction to the acts of jihad in India and the resulting response by beleaguered governments and the majority Hindu community there. In violent acts involving Indian Muslim minorities, Dr. Ubaid has consistently portrayed the Muslims as victims, and the Indian state and the majority community as aggressors (just like he mischaracterized those who oppose the Ground Zero mosque as “Extremists”) – when in reality the Muslim community has acted as the primary incubator of violent jihadism. This makes Dr. Ubaid an apologist or appeaser of jihadists – and possibly, more. Dr. Ubaid is the founding president of IMANNET which is linked with Consultative Committee of Indian Muslims (CCIM). The CCIM is said to have funded an Indian jihadist organization, Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). The SIMI, according to the Indian government, has been behind several serial bombings. The SIMI is banned in India. It has been labeled a terrorist organization by both India and the US. Given his track record, I am afraid that the likes of Dr. Ubaid are going to push the American Muslim community further into radicalism. American Muslims deserve better. Here is the MB summit and the list of attendees. Let's have a look, shall we? Here are a couple of soundbites of tolerance: (more here) Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations. And when Madeleine Albright, who has become a friend of mine over the last couple of years, when she was Secretary of State and was asked whether this was worth it, said it was worth it. No mention of the 270 million victims of over a millennium of jihadi wars, land appropriations, cultural annihilation and enslavement. No mention of the recent slaughter by Muslims of Christians, Hindus, Jews, non-believers in Indonesia, Thailand, Ethiopia, Somalia, Philippines, Lebanon, Israel, Russia, China................ no candor, no criticism of Islam. Imam Feisal: "The West needs to begin to see themselves through the eyes of the Arab and Muslim world, and when you do you will see the predicament that exists within the Muslim community." On the question of reforming Islam and expunging the texts of the threat doctrine and mandated violence and conquest: Imam Feisal: On the issue of the reformation, in terms of what is again intended by it, Islam does not need a reformation. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: "So men will say: women, you know, they're emotional, ..... whatever, whatever, and women will say: men, they're brutes, insensitive, etcetera, and you have the beginning of a gender conflict. If gender is not what distinguishes us we'll look at skin colouring and say: n#####s or whities, or whatever" Reverend Al Sharpton was unavailable for comment. Too busy endorsing the Islamic supremacist mosque. Rest assured, the tolerant Imam Rauf will not suffer as Dr. Laura did (and she was making a "word" point, Rauf is using it). Imam Feisal: And when we observe terrorism, whether it was done by the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka or by al Qaida or whoever is behind the bombings in London or those in Madrid Note, when he says this about the London and Madrid bombings, it was five days after the London attacks and over a year after Madrid. It was common knowledge who the perps were at that time. IMAM FEISAL ABDUL RAUF: That's a very common question. In fact, just about two months ago I was interviewed by Barbara Walters, who is doing a special on heaven and she's interviewed suicide bombers who are expecting the embraces of 72 virgins in paradise, and she asked me do women get the same privilege as well, and I answered her telling her: well, the Koran says you shall have whatever your heart desires And the Imam is conspiracy theorist -- 911 was an inside job: How many of you have seen the documentary: Fahrenheit 911? The vast majority - at least half here. Do you remember the scene of the Iraqi woman whose house was bombed and she was just screaming, "What have they done." Now, I don't know, you don't know Arabic but in Arabic it was extremely powerful. Her house was gone. Her husband, I think, was killed. What wrong did he do? I found myself weeping when I watched that scene and I imagined myself if I were a 15-year old nephew of this deceased man, what would I have felt? And while Imam Faisal speaks of tolerance and so forth, he commiserates with the worst extremists and inciters to genocide: IMAM FEISAL ABDUL RAUF: The broader community is in fact criticising and condemning actions of terrorism that are being done in the name of Islam. I just came from a conference in Jordan, Amman where there were over 170 leading Muslim scholars from almost every part of the Muslim world, including some of the most important names like Sheikh Tantawi of Egypt, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, who is the Chief Mufti of Egypt, the Chief Mufti of Jordan, the Sheikh Al-Qaradawi, who is a very very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world. Schumer (D-N.Y.) inflamed Indian media outlets in debate in the Senate on Thursday when he called Infosys, the IT outsourcing giant, a "chop shop"--the term often used for the place where stolen cars are dismantled for resale. He said such companies outsource high-paying American tech jobs to immigrants willing to take less pay. He said he did not want the bill to affect companies that employ Americans and "play by the rules." This is so crazy. His party is bending over backwards to defend the Muslims, and in almost the same breath they single out Indians, who have been perfect guest workers, for punishment. We went into Bosnia under Clinton and fought for the jihadists, warring against the Christians. And when you point out that harsh truth, you get your ass handed to you. Truth is the new hate speech. But the bottom line is that we went to war against the Christians in Serbia (our staunch ally in WWII vs the Muslim armies the Mufti al-Husseini raised in Bosnia for Hitler) and paved the way for a militant Muslim state in the heart of Europe. You can have your own opinion, you cannot have your own facts. A few years back, if you spoke about jihadists in the Balkans, you were an "Islamophobe" who denied the patent reality that all Muslims in the Balkans were moderate, peaceful lovers of America. If you dared say anything about this, you were probably a secret supporter of Milosevic and genocide to boot, beyond the pale of decent human beings. Just ask the enlightened dhimmis and jihad collaborators atCommentary. But as always, the truth will out. "Radical Islam on rise in Balkans, raising fears of security threat to Europe," from AP, September 18 "Oh Osama, annihilate the American army. Oh Osama, raise the Muslims' honor," a group of Macedonian men sing in Albanian, in video posted on YouTube last year and picked up by Macedonian media this August. "In September 2001 you conquered a power. We all pray for you." Although most of Macedonia's ethnic Albanian minority are Muslims, they have generally been secular. But experts are now seeing an increasing radicalization in pockets of the country's Islamic community, particularly after armed groups from the ethnic Albanian minority, which forms a quarter of the population of 2.1 million, fought a brief war against Macedonian government forces in 2001. It's a trend seen across the Balkans and has raised concerns that the region, which includes new European Union member Bulgaria, could become a breeding ground for terrorists with easy access to Western Europe. Many fear that radicalized European Muslims with EU passports could slip across borders and blend into society. At the center of the issue is the Wahhabi sect, an austere brand of Islam most prevalent in Saudi Arabia and practiced by bin Laden and the Taliban. "Wahhabism in Macedonia, the Balkans and in Europe has become more aggressive in the last 10 years," said Jakub Selimovski, head of religious education in Macedonia's Islamic community. He said Wahhabis were establishing a permanent presence in Macedonia where none existed before, and that "they are in Bosnia, here, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia and lately they have appeared in Bulgaria." It is the first time a high-ranking official in the former Yugoslav republic's Islamic community has agreed to speak openly about the presence and threat of radical Islam.... Big Journalism has my latest oped as their featured story. Truth Is the New Hate Speech: Long Past Time to Overthrow the Media and Save Ourselves Pamela Geller, Big Journalism In the latest issue of the New Yorker, in a piece called “Intolerance,” Lawrence Wright compares me to the radical Danish imams who incited the Islamic world to riot over the cartoons of Muhammad that appeared in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. Ironic, isn’t it, when we are so tolerant of a fatal ideology, and worse, a subversive, dangerous media is shilling for our mortal enemy. Wright reports that the Danish cartoons were published without incident. This is true. I posted about the cartoons at my website AtlasShrugs.com in October 2005, before the international riots over them began. But then he goes on to erroneously state that the extremist Danish imams to whom he compares me are the ones who ginned up the ummah. Not so. These imams did create false cartoons that were more inflammatory than the ones in Jyllands-Posten in order to give some heft to their incitement to murder, but it was theOrganization of the Islamic Conference, a global international body, that initiated the cartoon jihad in December 2005. And as for his equation of me with these imams, patriots and freedom lovers across the world have not set Muslim embassies on fire and slaughtered non-Muslims, as Muslims did when they rioted and rampaged through various countries. How dare Wright make such an ugly and false comparison. To equate extremist imams with those who are fighting against this genocidal theology is the height of moral bankruptcy. The Danish imams created false images for incitement to jihad; I report news on jihad and source everything. Truth is the new hate speech. The New Yorker ignored the hundreds of articles I have written, the book I co-wrote with Robert Spencer (The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War On America), and the work that I do, and instead spreads the lie that I claimed that Malcolm X was Obama’s father (I never said that) and that he is Muslim (another out-and-out lie, but citing his lineage is somehow prohibited). The bottom line is, I have been reporting on jihad for years. I would have driven a great many stories to the fore had I had such imaginary power. It is an insult to the 70% of the American people that oppose this mosque to suggest that I am the driving force behind the opposition to the mega-mosque. I may be one voice giving voice to the voiceless, but it is the American people who drove this story, despite the silence of the media lambs. The more Americans heard about the mega mosque at Ground Zero, the more the opposition to the mosque grew – unlike in the case of the Qur’an-burning story, which was all manufactured by the media. Scores of media camped out in some Florida backwater stirring the pot of Muslim outrage in a flagrant attempt to conflate the two issues. The good news is that the American people have been burned too many times (see 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue); they are not buying it this time. The media, in its last gasps, is pulling a Baghdad Bob, and the Islamic machine is in full throttle. It's painful to watch the destruction of the world's best health care system, the rout of the private health care sector, and the impossible burden foisted on the individual American wallet for this so-called privilege of serving "the common good." Ayn Rand on the "Common Good": The tribal notion of “the common good” has served as the moral justification of most social systems—and of all tyrannies—in history. The degree of a society’s enslavement or freedom corresponded to the degree to which that tribal slogan was invoked or ignored. “The common good” (or “the public interest”) is an undefined and undefinable concept: there is no such entity as “the tribe” or “the public”; the tribe (or the public or society) is only a number of individual men. Nothing can be good for the tribe as such; “good” and “value” pertainonly to a living organism—to an individual living organism—not to a disembodied aggregate of relationships. “The common good” is a meaningless concept, unless taken literally, in which case its only possible meaning is: the sum of the good of allthe individual men involved. But in that case, the concept is meaningless as a moral criterion: it leaves open the question of what is the good of individual men and how does one determine it? It is not, however, in its literal meaning that that concept is generally used. It is accepted precisely for its elastic, undefinable, mystical character which serves, not as a moral guide, but as an escape from morality. Since the good is not applicable to the disembodied, it becomes a moral blank check for those who attempt to embody it. When “the common good” of a society is regarded as something apart from and superior to the individual good of its members, it means that the good of some men takes precedence over the good of others, with those others consigned to the status of sacrificial animals. It is tacitly assumed, in such cases, that “the common good” means “the good of the majority” as against the minority or the individual. Observe the significant fact that that assumption is tacit: even the most collectivized mentalities seem to sense the impossibility of justifying it morally. But “the good of the majority,” too, is only a pretense and a delusion: since, in fact, the violation of an individual’s rights means the abrogation of all rights, it delivers the helpless majority into the power of any gang that proclaims itself to be “the voice of society” and proceeds to rule by means of physical force, until deposed by another gang employing the same means. Below is must-read commentary from Robert Tracinski, The Intellectual Activist (it's paid only, so subscribe): I would be tempted to say that I told you so—again and again—except that there's no point in such a complaint, because the American public was listening when we warned them that ObamaCare would destroy private health insurance. The only people who weren't listening were the Democrats in Congress—who also knew that it was true, but who wanted that disastrous outcome. And now the outcome is here—but faster and worse than we expected. A group of health insurance companies just announced that the provisions of ObamaCare are already causing them to increase their insurance premiums. Weeks before the election, insurance companies began telling state regulators it is those very provisions that are forcing them to increase their rates. Of course, all of this was predictable and was predicted by opponents of the legislation. But that's not the important part of the story. The real news is the Obama administration's reaction, which has been to demand that insurers be denied permission to increase their premiums—and that they be punished even for communicating to the public about the cause of the rate increases. As Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius declared, "There will be zero tolerance for this type of misinformation and unjustified rate increases." An outraged Michael Barone—and Barone is a sober establishment type who doesn't often get angry—describes this as another instance of "gangster government." And there's a threat. "We will also keep track of insurers with a record of unjustified rate increases: those plans may be excluded from health insurance Exchanges in 2014." That's a significant date, the first year in which state insurance exchanges are slated to get a monopoly on the issuance of individual health insurance policies. Sebelius is threatening to put health insurers out of business in a substantial portion of the market if they state that Obamacare is boosting their costs. "Congress shall make no law," reads the First Amendment, "abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press." Sebelius' approach is different: "zero tolerance" for dissent. But Barone doesn't address the other part of this story. Jack Wakeland sent me a note reminding me of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's similar efforts under the reign of RomneyCare. "Deval Patrick's arbitrary cap on rates for small group insurance plans was the starting point for a cascade of events that is rapidly destroying the private health insurance market in Massachusetts—beginning with small group health insurance plans used by independent contractors, self-employed businessmen, family-owned and operated businesses, and other small businesses. "Last Thursday, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius began taking the nation down the road that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has been traveling: towards the end of private health insurance." We had assumed that ObamaCare would not destroy private health insurance until it is fully implemented in 2014, giving us time to defund it, to slow it down, and then to repeal it. But Sebelius is putting us on notice that the Obama administration intends to use the vast and arbitrary regulatory powers granted in the law to shut down private insurance now. That's why we're going to need a new crop of radicals in Congress. They won't just need to engage in parliamentary stalling tactics to gum up the legislative works. They will need to launch an all-out battle to restrain an administration that is fully committed to using its unchecked, tyrannical regulatory power to override the will of the people and destroy what is left of American liberty. So we need a new group of legislators who will show zero tolerance.—RWT Posted by Pamela Geller on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 09:30 PM in Universal Healthcare Kills | Permalink | Comments (15) ShareThis Reblog (0) | | Digg This | Save to del.icio.us | Tweet This! Tonight's Saturday night movie selection in the Atlas film forum :) is The Red House, starring the much-beloved favorite Edward G. Robinson. I am a huge fan of his. I'd be riveted watching this giant of an artist sell soap. It's hard to find any of his work in the public domain (I only run films in the public domain). This is a little-known gem of a flick. Enjoy. (Although if you have TCM, I would recommend watching Vincent Minelli's masterpieceGigi, which is on at 8 pm.) Here's the New York Times movie review in 1947: It's been a long time since the Hollywood artisans have turned out an adult horror number. "The Red House," which arrived at the Globe on Saturday, is just such an edifying offering, which should supply horror-hungry audiences with the chills of the month. For this tenebrous tale of an abandoned house set deep in a tangled and forbidding forest and its impact on the lives of a group of people living close by, is told intelligently and with mounting tension. If rationalization should reveal the house's secret long before the denouement, or much talk level rising gooseflesh now and again, the picture's cumulative effect still is as eerie as a well-spun ghost story. A newcomer to this film genre, Delmer Daves, the director, who also wrote the screen play, has followed the blueprint laid down by George Agnew Chamberlain's novel. The somber and brooding mood is set as the camera, swinging over a sylvan scene, comes to rest on "Ox-head woods, which have the allure of a walled castle." When teen-aged Nath Storm comes to help with the chores on the adjacent Pete Morgan farm, both he and Meg, Pete's adopted daughter, are warned away from "Ox-head—the red house—and screams in the night" by the dour and suddenly aroused farmer. And it is through these naturally inquisitive youngsters that the mystery is slowly and suspensefully unfolded, a story involving a couple of fifteen-year-old murders and their dire hold on Pete Morgan, his spinster sister and Meg. Edward G. Robinson is excellent as crippled Pete, whose mind is cracking under the thrall of the horrible secret of the red house, and Judith Anderson gives a taut performance as his sister who has silently shared his mental burden. They, as well as Lon McCallister, who is fine as the sensitive and courageous Nath, are supported by a pair of newcomers whose portrayals are seasoned far beyond their records. Include in this category Allene Roberts as Meg, the troubled daughter who is torn between her affection for her foster father and the strange "allure" of the red house, and Julie London, as Nath's girl friend, a curvaceous flirt who employs her obvious charms competently. Rory Calhoun, as a handsome and unlettered woodsman, and Ona Munson round out the uniformly good cast. Delmer Daves' fluid direction and an appropriately macabre musical assist from Miklos Rozsa, has done nothing to detract from their characterizations. The Nazis are coming! That's what the national socialist party is howling. And that which they falsely accuse us of, they do with reckless abandon, painting leaders of the rational as Hitler. They painted Bush with the Hitler brush, and the shill media said nothing, did nothing, saw nothing. But they were only too happy to lie, manipulate images and photoshop pictures to smear and slander good people, accusing us of doing it to the sainted failure in the White House (go here and here). I vlogged their slander (go here to watch video with fauxtography and screenshots back in August 2009). But now they are actually doing it, gleefully rubbing their hooves, and the silence of the media is deafening. They have no shame. When they deliberately won't report the news because it refudiates their narrative, they lie about it. Take a good hard look around, people: the enemy within, the fifth estate are destroying this country brick by brick, line by line, freedom by freedom. This is Goebbels-style propaganda. Big Media is going down in flames. What diseased little hypocrites they all are. Over at Big Government: A video showing protesters outside an Americans For Prosperity event has surfaced on the internet. It shows the protestors with signs depicting Sarah Palin and Glenn beck with Hitler mustaches and the label “Naz-Tea Party” over their pictures. Also depicted as Hitler is GOP candidate Adam Kinzinger running against Rep. Debbie Halvorson (IL-D) in the 11th District in Illinois. As protests go, it’s a bit limp and poorly attended, but the offensive and inflammatory signs certainly grab your attention. Especially considering the Democratic Party and the NAACP’s very high-profile condemnation of inflammatory signs that have appeared at Tea Party events. What makes this video so compelling is what it shows after the protest. Once the scene breaks up, a handful of the protesters, including one gentleman in a striped shirt who is earlier seen leading the group in a chant, walk two blocks away and enter a well-lit office. So well-lit that you can see them chatting and you can clearly make out their faces as the same people who had just participated in the protest. The well-lit office happens to be Halvorson’s campaign headquarters. You can clearly see Halvorson’s campaign manager Julie Merz sitting in the window chuckling with the team as the wind-down after a long night of hanging out with people who like depicting the former Vice-Presidential candidate as a mass-murdering fascist. We eagerly await Rep. Halvorson’s condemnation of the hate that was on display at this protest and we expect her to immediately purge from her staff any and all participants who readily accepted the depiction of Beck, Palin and Kinzinger as Adolph Hitler-Like Nazi’s. We also ask the NAACP and Democratic leadership to condemn these “Astro-turf” protestors as hate-mongers and bigots for likening Ms. Palin to Hitler. We’re sure Speaker Nancy Pelosi will want to investigate who was behind the funding for this event and the printing of those signs. We’re sure Ms. Pelosi won’t have any trouble getting that information, after all, Julie Merz – Rep. Halvorsen’s campaign manager who is depicted at the end of the video – was just recently the Deputy Director of Member Services on Ms. Pelosi’s staff. On Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people, Islamic supremacists, again in complete disregard and disrespect for non-Muslims, are convening in New York City to conspire to build to Ground Zero mega mosque despite the overwhelming opposition by close to 70% of the American people. "Once it became a rallying cry for extremists, we had no choice but to stand with Feisal Rauf," he said, referring to the New York City imam who has been leading the drive for the center. The Muslim Brotherhood axis meeting this weekend includes the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Alliance of North America and the Council on American Islamic Relations -- all groups named (and entered into evidence) as co-conspirators, Hamas-linked, Muslim Brotherhood fronts in the largest Hamas terror funding trial in American history, the Holy Land Foundation trial. Imam Rauf's book, What's Right with Islam, was originally published in 2004 in Malaysia under a different title: A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post-9/11. What's Right with Islam was a “special, non-commercial edition” of the book and was produced after the original, with Feisal’s cooperation, by the Islamic Society of North America and the International Institute of Islamic Thought. Both of those organizations are American tentacles of the Muslim Brotherhood (more here at Discover the Networks). The AP never identifies the Muslim Brotherhood as such in its continuing deception and misrepresentation of the facts to the American people. This idea that these supremacists are meeting to discuss "anti-Muslim sentiment" is another big fat lie. There is no anti-Muslim sentiment. Rauf created this firestorm and this division with his 15-story Islamic supremacist mosque on the hallowed ground of 911. It is the height of arrogance, insensitivity, and disrespect. And everybody knows it. We can't protest on Yom Kippur, but Muslim Brotherhood groups, take heed. We will be back. NEW YORK — Some Muslims who were initially indifferent about a proposed Islamic center near the World Trade Center site are now rallying around the plan, partly in response to a sense that their faith is under assault. A summit of U.S. Muslim organizations is planned for Saturday and Sunday in New York City to address both the project and a rise in anti-Muslim sentiments and rhetoric that has accompanied the debate over the project. It has yet to be seen whether the group will emerge with a firm stand on the proposed community center, dubbed Park51. The primary purpose of the two-day meeting is to talk about ways to combat religious bigotry. But Shaik Ubaid of the Islamic Leadership Council of Metropolitan New York, one of the groups organizing the gathering, said he has a growing sense that the project is being embraced by American Muslims and Muslim groups after some initial trepidation. "Once it became a rallying cry for extremists, we had no choice but to stand with Feisal Rauf," he said, referring to the New York City imam who has been leading the drive for the center. Groups scheduled to participate in the summit include the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim Alliance of North America and the Council on American Islamic Relations. It seems, yet again, that history is repeating itself. That any attempt at separating mosque and state eventually becomes just another blip on the historical landscape. We are witnessing this in the tragic fall of "moderate" Muslim democracy, Turkey. Ataturk is going the way of the horse and buggy. The enormous leaps Turkey took into modernity after removing the shackles of the sharia will recede into oblivion like the basic human rights afforded non-Muslims living under Islamic rule. Many of us saw this coming with the Prime Ministerial election of the devout Erdogan. I called it immediately upon Erdogan's win in August 2007 (here). The Turkish military (responsible for holding to Ataturk's secular model) warned then of "threats to the secular constitution." While participating in a Middle East panel of the Academy of Achievement in Chicago in September of 2007, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned against religious definitions of terrorism and specifically objected to the phrase "moderate Islam." Erdogan said, "Turkey is not a country where moderate Islam is sovereign. First of all, the 'moderate Islam' concept is wrong. The word 'Islam' is a simple word -- it is only Islam. If you say 'moderate Islam,' then an alternative is created." Religious study is now mandated in state schools in Turkey. Further, in 2007, Turkey and Iran formed a military alliance. Ryan Mauro has a look at Turkey’s Islamization: One Step Closer (hat tip Armaros) "If there is not a change in personality, then Turkey will become Iran No. 2" And Obama is chuffed. "Israel analysts see Turkey radicalizing, becoming 'Iran No. 2,'" from the World Tribune, September 15 (thanks to all who sent this in): Officials and leading analysts asserted that the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan was rapidly dismantling the secular Turkish state. They said Erdogan could turn Turkey into another Iran, a radical Muslim state with nuclear weapons. "There could be a deep strategic change," Amos Gilad, a senior Defense Ministry official, said. Officials cited Turkey's referendum that would revise the secular constitution. They said the 26 amendments approved by 58 percent of voters on Sept. 12 would significantly increase the authority of Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party while marginalizing Turkey's military. Leading officials expressed concern over Erdogan's growing power in Turkey and his success in intimidating the once-powerful Turkish military. They said Erdogan could use his referendum victory to expand Turkey's alliance with neighboring Iran and Syria while fomenting another crisis with Israel.... "If there is not a change in personality, then Turkey will become Iran No. 2," former National Security Council director Uzi Dayan said. UPDATE: And this from Julia Gorin: "Please note that the 'flotilla' incident was in fact a joint Syrian-Turkish military operation. And the link to this is a Syrian intel guy who has been operating for years in Bosnia." Bosnia’s former ambassador to Turkey — who, surprise-surprise, now lives in Turkey — is further stoking Turks (and anyone else who’ll listen) against Israel. In what might be the mother of all hypocrisies, former ambassador Hajrudin Somun — who served under the fundamentalist wartime Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic — tries to cast suspicion on Israel for turning its diplomatic attentions to the Balkans, where Turkey has been operating unimpeded for decades. After Turkey’s and Syria’s joint act of war against Israel this summer — which prompted Israel to make an overdue reassessment of, and shift in, its alliances in the Balkans — this Bosnian transplant to Turkey is deflecting attention from Turkish provocations against Israel and some Balkan entities, and directing it to Israel’s diplomatically sound reactions to those provocations, as well as to its warnings to the region and its standard diplomatic visits. In Turkish newspaper Today’s Zaman, Somun paints Israeli visits with Balkans leaders as conniving and underhanded, and demands to know Israel’s “designs” on the region. In fact, Israel is discussing common security concerns given Islamic designs on the region, albeit with precious little attention paid to specifically Turkish designs. After all, the Balkans is the Ottomans’ to reclaim! What is Israel aiming for in the Balkans? by Hajrudin Somun (Aug. 17) Something strange has been going on in the course of events that have been unfolding over more than half a year in Israel’s policy and position in the Balkans, from its Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warning that the Balkans are the next target in a global jihad to the Israeli attack on a flotilla carrying peace activists [sic] in international waters off the coast of Gaza. If we cannot make a clear correlation between these events, we could at least ask about Israel’s aims in the Balkans. The flotilla episode was just the latest, but also a sure sign that a breaking up of relations established decades earlier in the region wider than the Middle East is going on and that Israel is having a hard time [acclimating] to such developments. Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski’s visit to Israel in the first days of 2010 was marked by a warning he was given by Foreign Minister Lieberman in Jerusalem. Gruevski was cautioned that Macedonia must be “suitably prepared” in order to prevent what happened in Africa and South America from happening in the Balkans. Lieberman learned that “current data testify to the fact” that the Balkan region is “global jihad’s next destination for creating an infrastructure and recruiting activists.” He added that “jihad in the Balkans is funded by Iran and radical Saudi Arabian elements” and that “they recruited Bosnian Muslims and Albanians in Kosovo and Macedonia to wage terror.” Israel’s relations with most countries in the Balkans were determined by the so-called Middle East crisis for almost half a century. Of all states ruled by communists, only Romania did not break diplomatic relations with Israel after the wars in the Middle East. Although not communist, Greece was a good example in that regard. Contrary to its reservations about Israeli policy and its traditionally good relations with Arabs, and in particular its great sympathy for the Palestinian cause, Greece has over the past few years improved its relations and cooperation with Israel, even in the military sphere. Bulgaria is an even better example of such improvement. Its prime minister, Boyko Borisov, visited Tel Aviv last January, only a week after his Macedonian colleague. There he met with President Shimon Peres, who recalled how Bulgaria had prevented the deportation of its Jews to Nazi concentration camps during World War II and praised cooperation between the two countries “in all fields, including fighting terrorism and climate change.” After signing an agreement on military cooperation, Prime Minister Borisov discussed the possibility of Israeli aircraft using Bulgarian bases in training exercises. The improvement of relations between Israel and Serbia and the establishment of special ties with Bosnian Serbs have its roots in the Slobodan Milosevic regime’s aggression [sic] against Croatia and Bosnia in the 1990s and was explained best by Igor Primoratz, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. “From the outset,” he wrote, “Israel’s stand on the Balkan conflict has been quite different from that of most of the world, including the Jewish Diaspora: it has been clearly and consistently pro-Serbian.” He found the explanation of such an approach in Israel’s history. “Israel was [created],” he says, “at the price of turning the larger part of the native Palestinian population into expellees of refugees. Its continued existence as an ethnic, Jewish state is predicated on not readmitting the exiled Palestinians.” During Israel’s offensive against Gaza at the end of 2009…[w]hile Serbian President Boris Tadic was more restrained, and Bosnian Foreign Minister Alkalaj urged Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza, Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik went so far as to send a letter of support to President Peres. He offered full support to Israeli efforts to “ensure security and peace” for the Israeli people. Croatia, Montenegro and even Kosovo are also included in Israel’s diplomatic efforts to enhance its relations with the region. High-ranking officials from Israel and most Balkan states exchanged visits in 2009 and 2010. These visits were more frequent than in previous decades. Apart from the abolition of visa restrictions, military cooperation and the “fight against terrorism” were the most frequent subjects of talks and agreements. The May 31 flotilla raid was, apart from other repercussions, a second “Gaza indicator” of Israel setting its sights on the Balkans. The immediate regional reaction was more that of surprise than condemning the Israeli attack on the aid ships. Some countries treaded cautiously due to their national interests, while others did not want to harm their already improved relations with Israel. Relying on earlier sympathies and similarities that led some observers to call it the “Israel of the Balkans,” Kosovo still hopes it will be recognized by Israel. Greek officials did condemn Israel’s use of “deadly force on an aid flotilla” and scrapped the Greek-Israeli air force exercise “Minas 2010” short[ly] after the raid, but relations between the two countries were not interrupted. President George Papandreou visited Israel already in July, where he said that “the strengthening of bilateral relations is our steadfast policy.” Due to their particular interests, Bulgarian officials did not even hide their sympathies for the Israeli military’s action. First, Israeli Welfare Minister Isaac Herzog went to Sofia at the beginning of June to inform his hosts that “Israel is ready to divert up to 400,000 tourists to Bulgaria from Turkey.” Then Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov in July went to Tel Aviv, where he spoke about the “strong, emotional connection and responsibility on our part to ensure Israel’s safety and its future.” He also said that Turkey had reacted to the Israeli raid of the flotilla “a little bit too strongly.” By mentioning Turkey, I am finally reaching the most sensitive point of Israel’s sudden and keen interest in the Balkans. First, losing Turkey as the main regional strategic ally, Israel was forced to search for whatever alternative — if not a country, then at least a region. There was no other direction to go in than towards Southeast Europe. Israel found itself isolated in the region, having only a weak partner in Egypt and facing small, but dangerous, enemies in Hamas and Hezbullah. By trampling and devastating Gaza, Israel also became more isolated in the world and more criticized by its main ally, the United States. The deterioration of its relations with Turkey was perhaps the major political consequence of Israel’s military adventure in Gaza. … Israel is urging some Balkan countries, including Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, to improve their military cooperation with Israel and open their airspace to Israeli aircraft. In that sense Israel perhaps hopes that Kosovo will become a military substitute for Turkey because there is already a heavy US military presence there. Trying to [make neutral-seeming] its main aims in the Balkans, Israel is putting them not only in an economic, but also a historical, religious and “terrorist” context as well…Being aware that they will have the support of many Christians in the region, Israeli politicians are also stressing the religious factor. When they speak about the threat of terrorism, they mean “Islamic terrorism.” During the Gaza events, a Bosnian Serb website, “Serbian Cetnik,” offered “full support to the Israeli people from Republika Srpska” and stressed, “We have the same enemies!” In Serbia [sic], Serbiana.com [sic] made known that “during the raid on the Muslim terror ship, Israeli commandos arrested a Bosnian Muslim national of Syrian origin.” There was a reflection of such an approach even in Russia. During the attack on Gaza, Moscow’s Pravda, under the headline “Israel, you are Serbia now!” called on Israel “to grow up and face reality.” “You already have the double advantage, having one in three of your citizens of Russian background,” so that “there is only one block of nations with whom you have any chance: the Orthodox nations.” Getting back to Lieberman’s warning to the Macedonians about the threat of a global jihad recruiting “Bosnian Muslims and Albanians in Kosovo and Macedonia,” it reminded me of the so-called “Green Transversal,” almost the same geographic line invented in Belgrade before the wars of the 1990s. It was the direction from which all dangers emanate and come to the Balkans and further towards Europe — namely, from Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. Reading between the lines, I saw that his intention was to say that terrorism is somewhere other than in Israel and that it is perpetuated by someone other than the Israeli administration. (In that last paragraph Zomun is comparing Israel’s warnings to Macedonia about the jihad against it — in progress for more than a decade now — to the “outlandish” notion of there being an Islamic “Green Corridor,” which he is calling Belgrade-spun propaganda. He is drawing a parallel between Israeli “propaganda” and Serbian “propaganda,” and implying that both countries’ troubles with Muslim terror originated with themselves. Apparently, this Bosnian former ambassador is unaware of what the state-of-the-art arena Sarajevo built for the 1984 Olympics was called: Zetra, short for the very real and very deliberate Zelena Transverzala, or Green Corridor running through the Balkans.) But the upshot is this: While Turkey has been actively reestablishing its caliphate in the Balkans for years — not to mention everything that Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran and others of that sort have been up to in the Balkans — this Bosnian Muslim feigns suspicion over Israel warning that this and worse is going on. So you see it’s the Jews who are being underhanded with their warnings to the other infidels, sneakily discerning common infidel concerns with other countries. Turkey has been maneuvering aggressively in the Balkans for years, not only stoking hostility against Bosnia’s Serb Republic and joining the Islamo-Western chorus mischaracterizing RS’s fears of Islamic usurpations in the region, but also acting hostilely against Serbia vis-a-vis an independent Muslim Kosovo, plus — as we shall see — giving terror a leg up in the region. All the while helping Serbia compromise itself (as it does with other infidel states), by increasing cooperative agreements, as Turkey knows Serbia is in great need since the Islamo-Western devastation of its economy in the 90s, from which it still hasn’t recovered. As put by Nebojsa Malic — who has written an introduction and two columns about the Ottoman resurgence in the Balkans: Turkey, among other things, “is also the principal champion of the ‘Independent State of Kosova’ among the Islamic countries. The Serbs know all this by now (the government collaborates with the Turks because it’s composed of craven quislings)…” Please observe below a small sampling of headlines pertaining to Turkish involvement in the region in recent years (some pieces are by Somun himself). Sabbagh is a Bosnian citizen of Syrian origin who has been operating in Bosnia for years, including in affiliation with the Turkish “charity” IHH that organized the convoy. IHH burst onto the scene in 1992 Bosnia to support the separatist regime. It was one of the “humanitarian” organizations “keeping alive the Bosnian jihad and enabling it to succeed against the Serbs,” as retired Indian cabinet secretary B. Raman noted in the Sri Lankan Guardian earlier this summer. Also working through IHH in Bosnia (under the joint auspieces of Britain’s MI6) was Omar Sheikh, who organized journalist Daniel Pearl’s kidnapping. So sure enough, the Turkish IHH is repeating its anti-Serb model against Israel now. But this goes deeper, with the involvement of Sabbagh being key, which could explain the Bosnian urgency to get him out of Israeli custody after the flotilla arrests. According to the two Defense & Foreign Affairs extracts below, the flotilla incident was a joint Syrian-Turkish war provocation against Israel, hatched in Bosnia — facts that remain unknown to the public, partly because the Balkans is precisely the place where one can operate in the shadows, thanks to public and media disinterest in, and ignorance of, the region. (Little wonder that it was the choice haven for an unknown number of fugitives from the 1993 WTC bombing.) Did Turkey Declare War on Israel … and the West? …The Turkish Government has increasingly, over the past two decades, taken an active role in facilitating and supporting jihadist groups based out of the former Ottoman Empire territories of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo (and elsewhere in Serbia, as well as Albania, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and the like). This has not only meant working with Iranian and Saudi elements in financing, and providing logistical support to, terrorist groups aimed at the West, but more importantly — from Ankara’s viewpoint — facilitating the movement and support of jihadist terrorists out of the Balkans (groups such as Kvadrat, which Defense & Foreign Affairs was first to identify) via safe havens in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus, to fight the Russians in Chechnya and elsewhere in the Caucasus. This could not have occurred without official Turkish Government involvement, and included the group which organized — again with Turkish Government participation — the “Gaza flotilla” which appeared in late May 2010. Still, there is always one party at a divorce which observes: “So, you‟ve hated me for years.” New Evidence Points to Syrian Intelligence Involvement in the “Gaza Flotilla” Incident; Links to Bosnian/Viennese Jihadi Networks Emerging By Jason Fuchs, UN Correspondent, and Gregory Copley, Editor, GIS/Defense & Foreign GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources in Croatia confirmed on June 14, 2010, that a key Syrian intelligence officer had been onboard the Turkish ship, the Mavi Marmara, during its attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip on May 31, 2010. The agent, named Jaser Mohamed Sabag, was a Syrian native and naturalized Bosnian citizen. It is understood that Sabag works directly for the Syrian Military Intelligence Service, Shu’bat al-Mukhabarat al-’Askariyya. According to GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources, Sabag had worked in the Balkans liaising with regional Iranian intelligence (Vezarat-e Ettela’at va Amniat-e Keshvar: VEVAK) networks to coordinate support for Balkan jihadist networks, including the Turkish IHH (Ä°nsan Hak ve HĆ¼rriyetleri ve Ä°nsani Yardım Vakfı), which purchased the Marmara for $800,000 in April 2010 and — ostensibly — spearheaded the so-called Gaza flotilla. This had, as outlined in the Defense & Foreign Affairs report of June 7, 2010, confirmed the Turkish Government’s linkage to the terrorist support work of IHH in the Balkans, during which time the jihadist terrorist groups there, using the IHH links, had been used against Western targets. But more importantly, it highlighted the links between the Turkish Government — via the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (Milli Ä°stihbarat TeÅkilatı: MÄ°T) — with the Syrian Mukhabarat for many years in jihadist support operations, pre-dating the break-up in Turkish-Israeli relations. [FOOTNOTE: As well, (MIT) was clearly linked to the Bosnian terrorist/jihadist movement through the Kvadrat movement, which operated terrorist training in Bosnia, moving its operatives into the Russian Caucasus, to Chechnya, via safe-havens in Northern Cyprus, controlled by the Turkish Armed Forces, and then into the Russian Federation via Turkey…] The presence of Sabag onboard the Marmara raised a number of questions about the true nature of how the flotilla had been organized, funded and directed. It indicated, at a minimum, Syrian Government involvement, and, at most, that unwittingly many of the flotilla’s passengers had been used as cover in the intelligence gambit by Damascus and Ankara. By the first week of June 2010, Sabag had already been deported by Israeli authorities to Turkey and GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources reported that by June 12, 2010, Sabag had left Turkey and returned to Sarajevo, along with Mukadera Tankok-Tanovic, a Turkish national and IHH “coordinator”. The daily newspaper Fokus, published in Banja Luka, Republica Srpska, Bosnia & Herzegovina, further reported that before working with jihadist networks in the Balkans, Sabag had been in charge of “intelligence affairs” for the Abu Nidal Organization (ANO) where he established an effective working relationship with Halil Badia, the daughter of Abu Nidal (born Sabri Khalil al-Banna). Halil Badia, the report continues, assumed control of the ANO following her father’s death in Baghdad on August 16, 2002, and has since become “a main financier of the Wahabbist [sic] movement in B-H (Bosnia & Herzegovina)”. GIS/Defense & Foreign Affairs sources confirmed that while Badia had been unable to access her late father’s Swiss bank accounts — which had been blocked several years ago as part of Western counterterrorism efforts — she and her family “managed to withdraw a substantial part of the money from Austrian banks”. It was believed that a significant portion of this money had been redirected to Balkan-based networks. That the money had flowed through Austria was not merely a coincidence: the Viennese Islamist community had, for some time, played a central support role in organizing jihadist activities in Bosnia. However, there can be no doubt that the long-standing relationships between MIT, IHH, and the Shu’bat al-Mukhabarat al-’Askariyya — along with the relationships which all three have had with the various Saudi and Iranian organizations in the Balkans — facilitated, or at least led to, the Marmara provocation. And so, in very recent news we see the shifting and/or tightening of Israel’s alliances in the Balkans. While Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting Greece a couple weeks ago to discuss matters of the two countries’ military alliances, these were some of the other Israel-Balkans headlines: “Israel understands Serbs in Bosnia” BANJA LUKA — Republic of Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik stated that Israeli President Shimon Peres understands the position of the Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Dodik, who is on a visit to Israel, said that the Israeli president had said that the wish and aspirations of the peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina have to be respected and that stability and peace have to be preserved. Dodik also said that he discussed the situation in the Balkans, and that he was informed about the situation Israel is being faced with in its efforts to preserve stability and its state identity. “This was an opportunity for me to underscore that it is evident that the international community and its high representative had carried out political and legal violence in the RS and that it had altered the Dayton Agreement,” said Dodik. Dodik reiterated that he and President Peres had a lot in common on all issues, particularly those relating to Turkey’s growing engagement in the Balkans, noting that Turkey is being engaged on the side of a the Bosniak people alone. Bosnia “Increasingly Can’t Survive” …Dodik said that his recent visit to Israel, where he met with the country’s top officials, was one of the most important trips he has had lately, in view of the fact that Jerusalem conducted a “balanced policy in the complex conditions of the Middle East relations”. Dodik once again accused Turkey of meddling in Bosnian affairs, and to support only the Muslim (Bosniak) side. Dodik Condemns Turkey’s Activities In Bosnia (AFP, Aug 16, 2010) …“We resent the fact that Turkey wants a unified and centralized Bosnia, favoring only one of the peoples” living in the country, Dodik told Bosnian state radio from Israel, following talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Dodik said he had told Lieberman that the Bosnian Serb community “resented Turkey’s strong presence in Bosnia motivated only by support for the Bosnian Muslims, without any willingness to comprehend the context in which Bosnia exists.” “I told the minister that it is not possible to accept an intermediary role by Turkey,” he said, without elaborating. Israel supportive of Bosnian Serbs Bosnian Serb Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, said that Israel has expressed its full support and understanding of the Bosnian Serb Republic and its efforts to fully implement the Dayton Peace Accords that are to govern Bosnia. “We feel that Turkey desires to create a unitary and centralized Bosnia for one ethnic group only. We cannot accept such role of Turkey in Bosnia, especially because of its biased position,” said Dodik. …Dodik said that he explained to Israel that recent Bosnian anti-Israeli votes in the UN do not reflect the opinion of Bosnian Serbs whose foreign policy is constrained and dominated by Bosnian Muslims. “How is it possible for Bosnia to vote against the interests of Serbs, first of all, when we are not seeking to vote for anything that would impede on the Israel’s security,” said Dodik. Bosnia consists of three “constitutive” ethnic communities but Bosnian Muslims desire to dominate them. Dodik invited Israeli investors to come to the Serb Republic. “We told them to invest in Serb Republic, despite the crisis that dominates in all countries,” Dodik said. The Prime Minister specified that Israel expressed its greatest understanding on the dangers of terrorism in Bosnia. Earlier this year, Israel warned that Islamic terrorists are actively recruiting Bosnian Muslims and ethnic Albanians in the Balkans for terror. Israel also warned that the Balkans is the next area that Islamic terrorists have set their sights to. Days ago, authorities in the Serb Republic [arrested] 5 Islamic extremists of whom one was an ethnic Albanian. The arrested men had weapons and machetes used for Islamic ritual of beheading. Dodik said that a visit by the Israeli delegation to the Serb Republic is possible because both sides have expressed desire to expand economic activities. Dodik said that the Serb Republic and Israel will continue to cooperate and keep in contact on various diplomatic levels. Republika Srpska Premier Dodik Discusses Position of Serbs in Bosnia with Israeli President Peres …Dodik reported that the Israeli president had declared Bosnia-Herzegovina must respect the will and desires of the people and preserve stability and peace. “We agreed that Turkey had likely drawn up an action plan in order to allegedly preserve Bosnia-Herzegovina’s territorial integrity, but actually promoting the principle of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s centralized government, which Turkey believes should be strengthening and creating a unitary state in this region,” Dodik said. Related: Cyprus says will not allow Gaza-bound aid ship (Aug. 20, 2010) NICOSIA (Reuters) – Cyprus will not allow a ship carrying women activists and aid for the blockaded Palestinian territory of Gaza to sail from its ports, the island’s police said on Friday. Women activists said they planned to take aid to Gaza next week and their vessel, the Mariam, would set sail from Lebanon for Cyprus on Sunday. In New York, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gabriela Shalev sent a letter to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and her Russian counterpart Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, president of the Security Council this month, complaining about the aid ship and the reported approval of its departure by Lebanon. Shalev said the organizers were “individuals with suspected ties to the Hezbollah terrorist organization” who intended to break through the blockade of the Gaza Strip. Cyprus was used as a launch pad for activists to reach Gaza by sea from 2008 until mid-2009. Authorities introduced a ban last year, citing the island’s national interests. To close up this post about the resurgent Ottomans in the Balkans, we have a revealing 2006 text from author Srdja Trifkovic, demonstrating that before our eyes is unfolding the fruition of a plan long in the making: …A decade ago an Orientalist who was at that time Yugoslavia’s ambassador in Ankara, Darko Tanaskovic, came across an interesting little brochure in a second-hand book shop in Istanbul. It was a very old propaganda pamphlet issued by an Albanian Ć©migrĆ© organization, and it contained a simplified colored map of the Balkans. The map showed a green arrow emanating from Turkey, thrusting through the Muslim-populated parts of the Balkans (Thrace, Macedonia, Kosovo, Sanjak, Bosnia), severing the links of the unbelievers’ defensive steel chain, and victoriously heading to the north-west, towards the heartland of Europe. This geopolitical idea, known for decades as the Green Route (“Zelena transverzala”) both by the advocates and opponents of Islamic inroads into Europe, was simple but very suggestive… As Yugoslavia started disintegrating in the early 1990s, most Western analysts of world affairs promptly categorized the Green Route thesis as a crude, anti-Muslim conspiracy theory, mainly propagated by nationalist Serbian academics. Then along came Huntington’s Clash of Civilisations and his subsequent book of the same name. The supporters of the Green Route thesis welcomed Huntington’s work because he used the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1992-95) as a key illustration of the Christian-Muslim “fault-line wars.” The proponents of a pro-Bosnian Muslim, pro-Kosovo Albanian policy in Washington, by contrast, insisted that helping Muslims in the Balkans was the best way of courting favor for the United States in the Islamic world. The Green Route theory has gained fresh credence, in Europe at least, after 9-11. It is by now hard to dispute that the radicalisation of Islam in the Balkans — deliberate or not — turned out to be the net result of the actions of the “international community” during the Yugoslav crisis. In fact, “If Western policy in the Balkans was not meant to facilitate the Green Route, the issue is not why but how its effects paradoxically coincided with the enduring aspirations and goals of pan-Islamism, including its extremist and even terrorist manifestations.” After 9-11, nothing was supposed to be as before, but the U.S. policy in the Balkans has inexplicably retained its Islamophile bias, so remarkably persistent during the Clinton years. In the meantime, the Green Route has morphed from an allegedly paranoid Islamophobic propaganda ploy into a demographic, social and political reality… Posted by Pamela Geller on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 07:57 PM in Turkey's Re-Islamization | Permalink | Comments (20) ShareThis Reblog (0) | | Digg This | Save to del.icio.us | Tweet This! Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, infamous for his pro-Hamas rallies (here) and his pilgrimage to the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, paid for by the Muslim Brotherhood (here), is attacking defenders of freedom and democracy. Clearly, my work and that of Spencer is a threat to a stealth jihadist like Ellison, advocate of the sharia. So they do what they do best, pathologically lie. Their morphing narrative is comic, Now it's how we make a living off the "anti-Islam" business. As if. We get sued. What living? There is no money in what we do, but the Brotherhood is on the receiving end of millions from their overlords in the Middle East and the leftist financiers like Soros. It's not a living, it's a calling. I do think it'll die down but I don't think it will go away. Why Not? Because the people who are struck by fear and who are creating a climate of fear with the thought of this Islamic center are not going away. Yes, it's going to have a tougher time catching the public mind and it is going to have a tougher time getting any news. But you have to understand that there are some people who make their living trying to say, "The Muslims are coming, the Muslims are coming." It's important to bear in mind that these folks are not going to stop and pack it in just because the elections are over. ... They are just going to find something else to make a big deal about. I don't think it's completely separate from elections either. Certainly certain people like Rick Lazio will try to exploit the upsurge in anti-Islamic ideas to their political advantage. But I don't think it's rooted in the election cycle. I think it's rooted in the idea that there are urges in society from time to time based on a multitude of factors that make some people want to scapegoat others. In the early 1960s, you had people scapegoating Catholics, saying we can't have Kennedy be the president because then the pope will running the country. Of course we have a long history of scapegoating Jews as well. And we have a long history of racial discrimination and scapegoating. We've seen conservatives and people who want to keep America for people who have traditionally benefited. We've seen these elements scapegoat. We remember Reagan talking about welfare queens. He scapegoated single moms who are poor and tried to say that America's problems are because of them. And then George Bush said, "Well no, the problems are not because of them, but because of black men like Willie Horton and liberals like Dukakis, who let these guys run around." And then we went from there to, "Well the problem is with the gays, they're the problem. They're trying to get married and they're causing the problem." And then it's because of the Latinos, they're taking our jobs. There is always a scapegoat de jour when fearful people blame the problems of society on a distinct groups that usually does not have much political power. [...] This is the same dishonest narrative we have seen recently from Nicholas Kristof and many others: that Muslims in America today are facing a resurgence of the nativism that earlier targeted Catholics and others. I wonder who is feeding all these people their talking points. But in any case, the comparison is entirely fallacious: Catholics, Jews, blacks, Hispanics, welfare queens -- all the groups Ellison names as previous "scapegoats" -- weren't carrying out terror attacks against Americans and others worldwide. They weren't justifying violence and hatred by reference to Catholic or Jewish teaching. The people who were worried about the pope running the country could point to no action by the pope to try to achieve such power. The Muslim Brotherhood, in contrast, is dedicated in its own words to "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within" so that Islam "is victorious over other religions." The idea that non-Muslims are suspicious of Muslims out of bigotry, rather than out of a legitimate concern for both jihad terror and the utterly supine and often disingenuous response to it from peaceful and ostensibly moderate Muslims is nonsense of such an outstanding character that I wonder if Ellison himself even believes it, rather than simply seeing it as a useful line he can use to bamboozle the besotted Leftists to whom he is talking in ColorLines. Gee, ColorLines, I can't imagine. In the first place, there is no such scapegoating: hate crimes against Muslims are actually quite rare. But even if they weren't, do you really have to ask this question? Are you really unaware that when so many mass murderers and would-be mass murderers point to Islamic teaching as the motivation and justification for their actions (think of Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood jihadist; Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas underwear jihadist; Faisal Shahzad, the Times Square jihadist; Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and Osama bin Laden on 9/11; the London jihad bombers of July 7, 2005; and so many, many others), that non-Muslims will continue to swallow the increasingly less convincing line that none of this violence has anything to do with Islam? Of course, many will continue to do so, and they will continue to do so because of articles like this one, which claim victim status for Muslims and do their best to divert attention away from jihadist crimes. Ellison does mention a few of these jihad attacks farther down, but says nothing about the belief-system that motivated them, or what can and should be done within the Muslim community in the U.S. to help ensure that there will be no such attacks in the future -- that is, if that were on the Muslim community in America's to-do list. Anyway, in response, the Congressman breaks out some half-baked Saidism: Remember The Sum of All Fears? The novel that featured jihadist villains, who became neo-Nazis in the film after Hamas-linked CAIR mau-maued the filmmakers? Has Ellison seen that one? No kidding, really? In any case, note that Ellison doesn't even come close to addressing the ideological wellsprings of such attacks. Which he owned, of course, to study the beliefs of those who were menacing American ships in the Mediterranean. Should Obama and other leaders have moved faster to speak up? I think the president has done a good job. He has spoken out clearly and properly on this issue of the mosque and the issue in Gainesville Florida. I am proud of the president. That is one of the good sides of the story. When you have a leader standing up and saying we are not going to divide Americans based on religion. I don't have any complaints about what Obama, Gates, Petraeus or Nadler has said. They could have ducked and covered but instead they have contributed to the marginalization of people who make their living on this stuff, like Pam Geller and Robert Spencer. ... Note that we're not marginal enough for Ellison to refrain from mentioning us at all. He would certainly like to see us marginalized, since I have been the one calling attention to his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. As I noted in December 2008, when it was first revealed that Ellison's Hajj was paid for with $13,350 from the Muslim American Society: The Muslim Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." -- "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America," by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991. What does that have to do with Congressman Ellison? Everything. The Muslim American Society paid for his Hajj. And what is the Muslim American Society? The Muslim Brotherhood. "In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation's major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members." --Chicago Tribune, 2004. Imagine if a conservative Congressman had taken a trip that had been paid for by a Christian group that was, according to one of its own documents, dedicated to "eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house" so that Christian law would replace the U.S. Constitution. I expect we would hear more of an outcry than we ever heard about Ellison's Brotherhood-funded hajj. But I'm going to keep talking about it here. No wonder he wishes we were marginalized. We believe the presence of Ahmadinejad, a messenger of suppression, execution and stoning to death, terrorism and drive to acquire nuclear weapons at the UN will only embolden the fundamentalist regime to justify further repression at home and belligerence abroad. That should not be tolerated.

The summit is entitled, get this, National Islamic Leaders Summit, and will include a News Conference against bigotry and Islamophobia in the United States. The most radical and intolerant ideology is going to admonish us and school us in tolerance. They will release a Statement agreed upon by these Islamic leaders. They will also address the "continued building of mosques in America." Americans are standing against Muslim Brotherhood centers and fortresses. Americans are protesting extremist mosques that teach hate, incitement to jihad and hatred of non-Muslims. I am sure this group of stealth jihadists will not address that -- the key issue.

The still emerging evidence of connections between Syrian intelligence operations in the Balkans, Bosnian jihadists, and the voyage of the Marmara raised serious questions for the West and particularly for NATO of which Turkey is a member about the extent to which the Turkish Erdogan Administration had been aware of these linkages when it gave permission for the Gaza flotilla to set sail. If, in fact, Prime Minister ReƧep Tayyip Erdogan had known about the presence on the Marmara of a Syrian intelligence agent with deep, long-standing ties to the global jihad movement, further questions would be raised about the extent to which Istanbul has chosen to reorient its strategic posture.

A remarkably dishonest and self-pitying interview from the Muslim Brotherhood's favorite Congressman. "Rep. Keith Ellison Talks About Beating the Anti-Islam Industry,'" by Seth Freed Wessler in ColorLines, September 16 (thanks to all who sent this in):[...] Commenting on the controversy surrounding the Park 51 Islamic cultural center in downtown Manhattan, NYC Mayor Bloomberg recently said, "This whole issue, I think, will go away right after the next election." Do you think that these attacks are going to go away after elections?
So why right now are Muslims being targeted? What is particular about this moment that Muslims are made the targets of scapegoating and fear?
One factor is that in Western thinking the Orient and people from the Orient are somehow foreign or different. Long before 9/11 occurred, you had a whole set of films where the villain is some Arab Muslim guy. Whether it's "True Lies" or it's "Back to the Future," whether it's Libyans who are blowing up something, whatever it is, it is deeply rooted stuff over the long term. What is Islam but the religion of the Orient? So there's that.
Then you have other things like 9/11 that make these things more pointed. Of course 9/11 was not the last thing. Like when Faizal Shahzad tried to blow up a bomb in Times Square or when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit or Nadal Hassan did what he did in Fort Hood. These things are incredibly damaging to the way that Americans feel about their Muslim and Middle Eastern neighbors.
The Muslim world is incredibly diverse. You have people who are Bosnian Muslims who are white as the moon and Liberian Muslims that are as black as the night. You have white Americans whose families have been here for generations and they have converted to Islam. One example is Hamza Yusuf who is a noted and brilliant scholar. So there is a broad diversity of Muslims. That's just the reality. You know, Islam is not all foreign. When I swore in on the Quran, I swore in on Thomas Jefferson's Quran....
In Park51 you have people who want to bring us back but there are more people who want to bring us forward. You can never suppress people who have reactionary, fearful ideas who want to divide people. But the people who stand up and do the right thing will prevail if they stick to it. It's like MLK said in the "Letter from a Birmingham Jail": "We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people." But in the case of Park51, the good people have spoken up.
