Join us THIS COMING WEDNESDAY (27 October) as we gather in Westminster to mark the 43rd anniversary of the passing of the Abortion Act.
The theme of lament will be reflected in a Quiet Vigil outside Parliament and a Service of Lament and Repentance at the nearby Emmanuel Centre.
The service will include a four-minute silence to mark the more than four decades that have passed since the Act. If you are not able to join us in Westminster, why not join us in 4 minutes of silent reflection at 1.30pm wherever you are? Additionally you could hold a service of lament locally or dedicate a few minutes of your mid-week Bible study group to praying to the Lord for forgiveness and change.
Vigil: 12 – 1pm, Old Palace Yard (opposite Parliament)
Service: 1.15 – 1.50pm, Emmanuel Centre (9 – 23 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3DW)
Light lunch available at the Emmanuel Centre. If possible, please let us know in advance that you are coming; otherwise just join us on the day. A poster to display at your church is available here.

Victory for Pro-Life Protesters as Prosecution Dropped
Two pro-life protesters, who were supported by the Christian Legal Centre, are celebrating after hearing that they will not be facing a criminal prosecution for a silent vigil outside an abortion clinic.
Andrea Williams, CEO of the Christian Legal Centre, said: "We are really pleased that common sense has prevailed after pressure was brought to bear. It is not appropriate to silence and to censor those who speak out against abortion. The freedom to engage and provoke public debate on this matter of life and death must continue to be safeguarded."

A writer from a leading think tank has warned that if assisted suicide is legalised then the old, ill and frail will be deemed expendable. Cristina Odone, a writer for The Centre for Policy Studies, has stated that the most vulnerable could be bullied into an early death and that any softening of the law regarding assisted dying could open the door to full scale euthanasia.
Cristina Odone said that changing the law would lead to a new category of 'less than perfect' citizens who would be faced with self-inflicted death as a 'natural, normal and expected final solution.'
