BOSTON (September, 2010) — Islam’s crescent moon and Hamas’ crossed swords aren’t the only key symbols in the ongoing saga of Mid-East violence; the Nazi swastika belongs there too, says the author of a modern classic due for widespread rerelease Sept. 1.
Chuck Morse’s acclaimed work, The Nazi Connection to Islamic Terrorism: Adolf Hitler and Haj Amin Al-Husseini, was written years ago before going out of print. While Amazon has sold the original for up to $286, WND Books has recently released an updated version.
The increasing tensions between Washington and Jerusalem remind why this largely untold chapter of World War II’s history remains so relevant.
The Nazi Connection to Islamic Terrorism establishes the strong link between Adolf Hitler’s Nazi movement and the roots of modern Islamic jihadists. Morse plumbs the ideology of al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and a key Nazi collaborator, and shows how Nazi teachings infected Arab politics in the 20th century – and guide radical Islam today.
The direct ties between Hitler and al-Husseini, the man Yasser Arafat referred to as "uncle," are laid bare – along with the Nazi influence on Islamic terrorism and its contemporary figures.
While President Obama blames his low regard among Israeli citizens on his middle name, “Hussein,” Morse says it’s his actions towards Israel that actually encourage her enemies. The Palestinian Authority recently credited the administration with promising to expect “big movement” on assuming massive land transfers for a future Palestinian state. And the administration reportedly supports placing NATO troops for border enforcement between Israel and the West Bank.
All give testament to the fact that Obama is the most recent in a long line of liberal western leaders who mistakenly believe appeasing aggressors leads to peace, says Morse. History supports Morse’s insights. Hitler, encouraged by liberal British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, worked with the Grand Mufti during the war years in developing the Muslim Brotherhood as a pro-Nazi spy network in the Middle East. Morse’s book contends that the Muslim Brotherhood, which has spawned such groups as Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al Qaeda, has never been de-Nazified.
The updated book describes a leadership path from the original Muslim Brotherhood to today's power figures in Egypt, Syria and the Palestinian Authority. It includes never-before-published photographs of al-Husseini and Hitler, his Nazi-Arabic troops, and, at his funeral, the late Arafat.
“When you hear Middle East leaders like Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calling for the extermination of Israel and you wonder where all that hatred begins, this book provides the answer," says Joseph Farah, publisher and founder of WND Books and a former Middle East correspondent. “Today's most dangerous, fanatical, genocidal and anti-Jewish Muslim leaders were inspired – and sometimes even lifted to power and prominence – by the Nazi Party of Hitler's Germany. The proof is in this book."
Referring to today’s radical Islamists and their unwitting supporters, Morse states “their anti-Semitic Utopian world order pretensions and their virulent anti-democratic bias are philosophically in the same place as their Nazi counterparts.”
The voices of Muslim moderates, who have supported the modest and proper aspirations of the Jews of Israel, have too often been silenced by radicals, Morse posits.
“The free world is confronted once again with a gathering world struggle for existence that threatens apocalyptic proportions just as it was during the emergence of the Nazis,” Morse added.
