The British Schindler….saved 669 Jewish Kids

In 1938, Nicholas Winton helped 669 Jewish kids escape certain death from the Nazis. He never told anyone that he did this.

While on ski trip in Switzerland, Winton took a detour in Czechoslovakia to help the children of refugees. Nazi Germany had recently annexed a large part of Czechoslovakia and the news of Kristallnacht, a violent attack on Jews in Germany and Austria, had just reached Prague.

Winton set up a rescue operation for the children, filling out the required paperwork for them to be sent to homes in Sweden and Great Britain. He had to raise money to fund foster homes for all of them, and then he sent 669 children away from Czechoslovakia on trains before the Nazis closed down the borders.

Winton told no one that he did this, not even his wife. In 1988, his wife found a scrapbook full of pictures of the children and letters from parents in their attic. She arranged to have Winton’s story appear in newspapers.

Casino 2012: Dems Go All In

by Bill Levinson

The Elephant just raked in a huge pile of chips in the form of dozens of House seats along with several Senate seats, but the Donkey likes his hole cards (Pelosi and Obama) so well that he plans to go all in (bet everything he has left) on them in 2012. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Nancy Pelosi–the same individual who said openly that she was willing to sacrifice House seats to pass ObamaCare and did so this November–plans to run for House Minority Leader and will probably be elected as such by her fellow Democrats.

Donkey: “It’s the tell–I’m sure of it. The Elephant is laughing his head off but his body language suggests that he is bluffing. I have Obama and Pelosi in the hole, Harry Reid is on the table as part of the flop, and I will certainly get a full House in both senses of the phrase. I’m going all in.” (He shoves the chips that represent his remaining House and Senate seats, along with the Presidency,...

Bush Memoirs: Strike On Syrian Nuclear Plant Restored His Faith In Israel–But When Did He Lose It?

Bush confirms that only a self-reliant Israel that is willing to stand up to America and win is considered an asset by the American establishment. Everybody supports winners especially Americans and Israel is not perceived as a winner by those who count. I can only but concur with that perception. It’s not to late to change that perception though but I fear it won’t happen under BB. Yamit

Reuters has an advance copy of George Bush’s memoir Decision Points, in which
Bush writes that he received–and turned down–a request by then-Prime Minister Olmert to bomb the Syrian nuclear plant:

Former President George W. Bush says he considered ordering a U.S. military strike against a suspected Syrian nuclear facility at Israel’s request in 2007 but ultimately opted against it.

Israel eventually destroyed the facility, which Syria denied was aimed at developing a nuclear weapons capability.

In his memoir, “Decision Points,” to...

Netanyahu Refuses to Bring Knesset Appeal for Pollard to US

In Israel it is the Knesset that is sovereign not the PM who is designated first among equals. when 109 out of 120 members request of the PM to represent their will in writing to the American president in person or otherwise it is noteworthy his response. By refusing he has demeaned the very body and structure he was elected to represent and speak for in their name. Yamit

by Chana Ya’ar

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has refused to take a letter to Washington drafted by Knesset members asking for the release of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard. The Prime Minister’s Office told IDF Army Radio that the Prime Minister has raised the matter “many times before” at the White House, and does not need the letter.

“The Prime Minister has brought up Pollard’s case several times in discussions with the U.S. government, so he does not need to do so through a letter,” said the PMO in a statement. “The proper procedure for transferring letters is to send them in an official...

California teens play “Beat the Jew”

After coming across this item from last summer I couldn’t find on the net what if any disciplinary action was taken against those students. Still I find it relevant. Yamit

Consequences for playing ‘Beat the Jew’

What should the consequences be for high school seniors who concoct a game called “Beat the Jew,” advertise it online, and then play it by dividing kids up into “Nazis” and “Jews,” the latter group being subjected to “incineration” or “enslavement.”

Student Who Outed Beat the Jew Game Threatened

Those zany kids at La Quinta High School near Palm Springs invented a merry little game called “Beat the Jew”:

Seven La Quinta students recently played the game — which involves players called ‘Nazis’ chasing and trying to capture a runner designated as a ‘Jew’ — off campus and after school, authorities said.

Governor Palin’s Budgets: Pointing Out the Obvious (That She’s Got A Stellar Record)

By Ted Belman*

Come hell or high water, President Obama is determined to create a Palestinian state during his watch. He has been doing his utmost to attack and pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu to support the two-state solution which Netanyahu did in part in his Bar Ilan speech and to freeze construction which he did for ten months ending September 26/10. To no avail. Because of the backlash Obama experienced last summer from Jewish leaders, he was forced to start a charm offensive in the lead up to the Nov 2nd mid-terms. Now, all bets are off. His determination to create a Palestinian state, which he supported long before his political career started, will be intensified now.

At the moment Netanyahu is refusing to formally extend the freeze but he is withholding approval of...
