“HEBRON AID FLOTILLA” SAILS INTO NEW YORK

BY: FERN SIDMAN

While most political and religious organizations and assorted worthwhile charities generally select such venues as tony hotel ballrooms or lavish catering halls to hold their fundraising events, The Hebron Fund has announced that it will be breaking with this tradition as they prepare to host their annual dinner in New York City on Tuesday evening, November 16th. In a symbolic departure from past rituals, this year’s dinner attendees will be feasting on a sumptuous smorgasbord and listening to inspirational speeches while cruising around the island of Manhattan on a ship that can hold up to 1000 people.

Billed as the “Hebron Aid Flotilla”, the event was created as a response to the international condemnation of Israel’s May 31st, 2010 commando raid on the MV Marvi Marmara, a Turkish flagged ship that was part of a six ship flotilla sponsored by the “Free Gaza Movement” and...

PA Angered by Israeli Keffiyeh

by Avi Yellin

Palestinian Authority Minister of Culture Siham Barghouthi said Tuesday that his ministry is investigating what he called Israel’s theft of “Palestinian heritage.”
”Palestinian culture must be preserved by organizing exhibitions and festivals to show that heritage claimed by Israel is actually Palestinian!” Bargouthi claimed in an interview with Ma’an Radio. “Palestinians” have often been asked to show what they claim their non pan-Arab heritage, since before the declaration of the state of Israe, the word “Palestine” or “Palestinian” referred to Jewish institutions, such as the “Palestine Post” and the “Palestine Philharmonic” and there was no Arab group calling itself by that name.

Barghouthi specifically mentioned the blue and white “Israeli keffiyeh” with a Stars of David pattern worn in Israel and on American university campuses by activists from the Zionist Freedom Alliance. The PA...

The UN is a Parody of Itself

Laura: Here’s another reason the Obama administration must go. It is humiliating, emasculating and demoralizing America on the world stage. At the UN, we had the pathetic spectacle of America placed in the docket being judged and condemned on the issue of human rights by the world’s worst human rights violators. You couldn’t make up a better parody of the UN if you tried. And the Obama administration indulges these dictatorships and terror states in their America-bashing and says what an “honor” it is to be in this chamber. The freest most humane country in the world has NOTHING to apologize for or be ashamed of. The fact that the Obama administration is engaging in such an exercise of allowing hideous, barbaric nations to point their fingers at America, is an abomination.

U.N. Gives Obama a New ‘Shellacking’ — Over Human Rights!

This article by Anne Bayefsky appears today on FoxNews.com.

Durbn III

JUST WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS-DURBAN III
Anne Bayefsky, National Post, November 5, 2010

(Anne Bayefsky is a professor at York University in Toronto, and Fellow of the Hudson Institute and Touro College.)

Here we go again. The United Nations is planning Durban III, one more racist “anti-racism” event–this time to take place in New York City in September 2011.

The original conference, and the non-governmental forum that preceded it, were held in Durban, South Africa, in 2001. That notorious platform for violent, pro-terrorist and anti-Semitic rhetoric included such speakers as Yasser Arafat and Fidel Castrol. It ended just three days before 9/11. Now the UN is going to mark the 10th anniversary of its historical gathering of hate-mongers to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the death and destruction that such hatemongering has wrought.

Durban I produced the infamous Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA), which claims Palestinians are victims of...

Living ‘in the red’ in Israel

The reality of living in Israel! Yamit

By: Chas Newkey-Burden

Rocket Map Details in English here.

This isn’t a post about bank overdrafts or even the dismal state of the drought-hit water level of the Sea of Galilee. It’s a tiny glimpse into the realities of Israeli life.

Last week we received our copy of the IDF Home Front Command’s new booklet distributed to every household in Israel on the subject of how to be prepared in the event of Israel coming under attack.

To most of us this isn’t new information, but of course we have many new immigrants who are less familiar with such situations and even for those of us who have been in such scenarios several times, it’s always useful to remind ourselves what to do in an emergency.

The booklet includes information on the choices of shelter available during an air-raid warning and the criteria for selecting a room in one’s house as the ‘safe room’ if one does not live in a building constructed since it became...

Hague’s visit sparks Israel-UK clash on Iran, Mid East, Palestinians

DEBKAfile Special Report November 3, 2010,

The sharp differences between Israel and Britain, similar in many respects to the unpublicized arguments between Washington and London, came to the fore Wednesday, Nov. 3, during William Hague’s first visit to Israel as UK Foreign Secretary.

He was informed that Israel had halted the strategic dialogue with the UK in protest against the failure of successive British governments to repeal a law allowing private individuals to file war crimes suits against foreign dignitaries.

Since 2005, pro-Palestinian activists have used the concept of “universal jurisdiction” to threaten Israeli leaders with arrest for alleged war crimes. Several serving and former Israeli leaders have cancelled trips to Britain after being warned they could be arrested. The latest was Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor, who cancelled his trip to Britain last month to avoid prosecution for taking part in the government decision to intercept a Turkish...

DEBKA reports a deal to restart talks.

DEBKA published this on Nov 2. Sounds more plausible than the lease deal but maybe it is part of it. Is Iran part of this package?

Mid East talks resume January. Netanyahu relents on building freeze
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report November 2, 2010,

Direct Israeli-Palestinian talks, interrupted in September after less than a week, will resume in January, 2011 straight after the New Year, following a quiet deal between the US, Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, debkafile’s Washington sources disclose. Obama administration officials while admitting that two months is a long time in the Middle East are upbeat after four developments swept aside the last roadblocks:

    1. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu agreed to a second settlement construction freeze on a limited scale. The first 10-month moratorium ran out in September.

Washington sources declined to say whether the second freeze was total or partial and what exceptions were allowed to enable Netanyahu to get a...
