Like all technologies before it, the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale will have many commercial--and military--applications. At the very least, the announced MOU between two countries that have openly declared an alliance aimed at overthrowing the world order could be used as a cover for cooperation in military matters, just as Iran's cooperative agreements with Cuba in the field of biotechnology have been used to advance the two countries' biowarfare programs.

More proof--
over here--that a regime that intends to overthrow the world order can't be appeased. Appeasement of an imperialist power does not prevent war; instead, appeasement makes war inevitable--on the enemy's terms.

That is the lesson of Munich and the catastrophic run-up to the Second World War. Incredibly, today's Europeans--and an American administration bent on engaging radical Islam in general and Islamist Iran in particular--appear determined to repeat this horrible history.
