This week in Congress, three critical initiatives will either pass or go down to defeat in the lame duck Congress
1. The Bush-era Tax Cuts. This is a MUST PASS issue. If the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress succeed in repealing the Bush-era tax cuts for those making more than $250,000, or even just for those making more than $1 million a year, we will most certainly destroy jobs and extend the severity of the current recession.

2. The Dream Act. This is a MUST DEFEAT issue. Once again, the Democrats in Congress are determined to see if they can pass the Dream Act, a piece of legislation that is designed to give amnesty to illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children and manage to complete 2 years in either college or the military. To many, the Dream Act has a noble purpose - extending citizenship to those who have worked hard to earn it. But in the final analysis, the Dream Act will deprive opportunities to higher learning to U.S. citizens, while simultaneously creating a backdoor for illegal immigrants in what amounts to nothing more than amnesty.
3. The START Treaty. This is a MUST DEFEAT issue. The American people need to be shown all the side-deals the Obama administration negotiated with Russia to get this treaty inked. With President Obama's openly admitted hostility toward missile defense, how can the American people be reassured that a undisclosed side deal will not include any language designed to impede U.S. progress on missile shield technology?
Truthfully, if the lame duck Congress just extended the Bush-era tax cuts and went home, that would be a major victory for all Americans.
