1. British Security Services Put Julian Assange's Lawyers Under Surveillance (At Taxpayer Expense)
Julian Assange's lawyer Mark Stephens denounces
the warrant for Assange's extradition for questioning
on sex allegations in Sweden as a 'political stunt'
Lawyers representing the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, say that they have been surveilled by members of the security services and have accused the US state department of behaving "inappropriately" by failing to respect attorney-client protocol. Jennifer Robinson and Mark Stephens of the law firm Finers Stephens Innocent told the Guardian they had been watched by people parked outside their houses for the past week. "I've noticed people consistently sitting outside my house in the same cars with newspapers," said Robinson. "I probably noticed certain things a week ago, but mostly it's been the last three or four days." Stephens said he, too, had had his home watched. Asked who he thought was monitoring him, he said: "The security services." Robinson said the legal team was also experiencing "other forms of pressure" from Washington. "It's quite a serious situation, " she said, adding that, according to the UN's Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers, governments should ensure that lawyers "are able to perform all of their professional functions without intimidation, hindrance, harassment or improper interference" and that "lawyers shall not be identified with their clients or their clients' causes as a result of discharging their functions". A spokeswoman for the Home Office declined to comment on the lawyers' surveillance claims.

2. WikiLeaks Founder: If Obama Approved UN Spying, He Should Resign
President Barack Obama should resign if it can be shown that he approved spying by US diplomatic figures on UN officials, the founder of WikiLeaks said in an interview published Sunday. "The whole chain of command who was aware of this order, and approved it, must resign if the US is to be seen to be a credible nation that obeys the rule of law. The order is so serious it may well have been put to the president for approval," Julian Assange told Spanish daily El Pais. "Obama must answer what he knew about this illegal order and when. If he refuses to answer or there is evidence he approved of these actions, he must resign," he added during an Internet chat interview published online. Assange said he and others who work for WikiLeaks had received hundreds of specific death threats from US military militants. "That is not unusual, and we have become practiced from past experiences at ignoring such threats from Islamic extremists, African kleptocrats and so on. Recently the situation has changed with these threats now extending to our lawyers and my children," he added. Assange said he believed the ripples are just starting to flow throughout the world from the release of the State Department cables.

3. Court Ruling - Judge Refuses To Order Vaccinations
Vaccinations aren’t “essential” medical treatments, a family court judge, Judge Stephen Lipton, has ruled in a written decision in refusing a Child Welfare request to order inoculations for four kids. Child Welfare had applied for a ruling to have the siblings immunized despite their parents’ decision not to allow the treatment. But Lipton said the four children, ranging in age from one to 12, weren’t at any present risk so no court intervention was warranted. “I find that on the facts of this case the vaccinations proposed by the caseworker don’t fall within the definition of ‘essential’ (in the legislation),” Lipton said. “The children are healthy and none of them are at imminent risk of serious harm.”

4. Influenza Vaccine Trials - Evidence Of Widespread Manipulation Of Conclusions
Dr Meryl Nass, MD
A 2010 update to Cochrane's 2007 metaanalysis of the published clinical trial literature on influenza vaccinations found not a lot to recommend the vaccines. Vaccination had a modest effect on time off work and had no effect on hospital admissions or complication rates. Inactivated vaccines caused local harms and an estimated 1.6 additional cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome per million vaccinations. The harms evidence base is limited. WARNING: This review includes 15 out of 36 trials funded by industry (four had no funding declaration). The review showed that reliable evidence on influenza vaccines is thin but there is evidence of widespread manipulation of conclusions and spurious notoriety of the studies.

5. CDC Birth Defects Study Implicates Popular Fertility Drug, Sanofi-Aventis Clomid
On July 18, 1975, Terence Mix appeared before an FDA advisory committee to testify about how Clomid (clomiphene citrate) posed a risk of birth defects to the human embryo. He had hoped at the time to draw public attention to the risk and to compel the drug's manufacturer to add a warning to its labeling. Little did he know that it would be another 35 years before his message would reach the general public. But on November 26, 2010, the journal, "Human Reproduction," published over the internet the results of a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that found a significant increased risk with 9 different types of birth defects following use of the popular fertility drug. The implicated abnormalities included anencephaly (open cranium with absence of a brain), esophageal atresia (closed esophagus), omphalocele (protrusion of part of the intestine through the abdominal wall), craniosynostosis (premature fusion of the skull b ones), 3 different types of heart defects and a defect of the brain (Dandy Walker malformation). The ninth defect (cloacal exstrophy) involves multiple abnormalities of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts. The lawyer is hopeful that this new study will have an impact on the FDA. "To date, the FDA has turned its back on several published studies showing an increased risk of birth defects following the use of Clomid," he laments. "In fact, the current labeling on the drug suggests that the premarket studies show that the drug is completely safe for the unborn baby. But given the size and importance of the CDC study, and the fact that it was conducted by an arm of the federal government, might just catch its attention. After 35 years of frustration, maybe now it might just happen."

6. Mother's Plea To Help Fight Sanofi-Aventis Epilim Drug Birth Defects Case
Karen Buck and daughter Bridget disabled from Epilim drug
Families wanting to sue a pharmaceutical company for disabilities suffered by their children have been left stunned after being told they can no longer claim legal aid. More than 600 families have been preparing to sue Sanofi-Aventis UK with the help of more than £3million in legal aid. But the families and their legal representatives, Irwin Mitchell, now say they could be forced to drop the action for good because of a lack of funding. Karen Buck believes Epilim, the epilepsy medication she took during pregnancy, left her 12-year-old daughter, Bridget Coyle, with spina bifida, water on the brain and other disabilities. She said: "The Legal Services Commission has pulled out, which nobody can understand. If the commission thought we don't have a case, why have they funded it up to now? I home tutor my daughter and give her daily physiotherapy and give her all medical help she needs. I do everything myself. The court have given us an e xtension until December 20, so what us mothers are doing is to go to our MPs to get them to rattle the cage." Ms Buck, who lives in Sandymount Avenue, in Stanmore, met Bob Blackman, Conservative MP for Harrow East, on Monday to enlist his support.

7. Autism & ME/CFS - A Modern Day Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy Scandal
Lisa Blakemore Brown, Psychologist
For whatever reason – and I can think of quite a few – vast numbers of professionals in legal, health and educational circles misconstrue symptoms of Autism, ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and related disorders as child abuse and parents, usually mothers, are accused of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP/FII). I first came across this problem in 1995 and was so concerned that the entire system could be duped by this approach that I began to write about it in 1997 after a mother lost all four of her children, two of whom were ASD/ADHD. Over time I also saw an emerging pattern in MSBP cases – many children changed after reacting to vaccines. In a recent news item on FOX in the United States, a case was reported in which the parents of a child with a mitochondrial disorder were accused of MSBP as they attended hospital very frequently with their ill daughter and the hospitals could not detect the mitochond rial condition. Now this is an interesting case because mitochondrial disorders are suspected as being at the root of many cases of ME/CFS and indeed Autism and recently the family of a young autistic, vaccine damaged child with a mitochondrial disorder, Hannah Poling, won considerable damages for the harm done to their child. To demonise parents of ill children whose conditions are iatrogenic by accusing them of MSBP adds insult to injury, is grossly immoral and unethical, destroys families and prevents recognition of children’s real problems thereby preventing them getting the help they need, possibly forever. Could we get it any more wrong?

8. Red Cross Bars Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Patients From Donating Blood
The American Red Cross announced Friday that it is barring people with chronic fatigue syndrome from donating blood to reduce the risk of transmitting a virus that has been associated with the disease. The virus is known as xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus or XMRV. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Task force is conducting research to determine the frequency of the virus in the donor population, whether it is transfusion-transmitted, and whether recipients become infected and develop the disease, it said. Another task force that reviews blood safety for an organization known as the AABB recommended in June that blood collecting organization "actively discourage potential donors who have ever been diagnosed by a physician with chronic fatigue syndrome ... or myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), from donating blood or blood components." The statement said: "The Red Cross has implemented the AABB recommendations and has gone further to implement indefinite deferral for donors who reveal a history of a medical diagnosis of CFS." The recommendation came after new research strengthened the possible connection between the virus and the syndrome.

9. RiME Questions ME/CFS Apostate Countess Of Mar
ME/CFS patients stick it to big hat, no cattle Countess of Mar
(Caption & Pic Courtesy Of One Click)
The Committee on Standards in Public Life lays out seven principles. These include, objectivity, honesty and accountability. Did the Countess of Mar not condemn the CMO Report saying the terminology was ambiguous and confusing and that it denied the true nature of ME? Did you not argue for a strict adherence to G93.3 Code and criticise the use of GET, CBT? You signed up to the APPG Inquiry Report March 2010, yes? You realise that the 13 CNCCs and satellites set up from 2002 were based on the recommendations of the CMO Report which you criticised 16/4/02. Because the clinics were based on that report, many are saying that they are not about ME eg the clinics in Kent exclude people with neurological illness putting them outside the ICD 10 G93.3 classification; didn't you argue for a strict adherence to it 22/1/04? Does this mean that you are no longer trying to represent patients who have the illness described by G93.3 (and Canadian criteria) but patients who would fit wide definitions of CFS? Why the turnaround? Would you care to explain?

10. Ex MP David Chaytor Pleads Guilty To Expenses Fraud
The second former MP in court has pleaded guilty to false accounting for a sum of around £13,000 in mortgage interest. Guido smells a plea bargain, he will be sentenced on January 7th. When considering sentencing let’s not forget the Fees Office clerk who came up with a “carefully executed fraud” for £6,000 and was sent down for nine months. One rule for us…
