According to the article, an agreement between the two countries was signed during the last visit o Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Tehran on October19, 2010. The previously undisclosed contract provides for the establishment of a jointly operated military base in Venezuela, and the joint development of ground-to-ground missiles. At a moment when NATO members found an agreement, in the recent Lisbon summit (19-20 November 2010), to develop a Missile Defence capability to protect NATO's populations and territories in Europe against ballistic missile attacks from the East (namely, Iran), Iran's counter-move consists in establishing a strategic base in the South American continent - in the United States's soft underbelly. According to Die Welt, Venezuela has agreed to allow Iran to establish a military base manned by Iranian missile officers, soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Venezuelan missile officers. In addition, Iran has given permission for the missiles to be used in case of an "emergency". In return, the agreement states that Venezuela can use these facilities for "national needs" – radically increasing the threat to neighbors like Colombia. The German daily claims that according to the agreement, Iranian Shahab 3 (range 1300-1500 km), Scud-B (285-330 km) and Scud-C (300, 500 and 700 km) will be deployed in the proposed base. It says that Iran also pledged to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers Venezuela has also become the country through which Iran intends to bypass UN sanctions. Following a new round of UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic, for example, Russia decided not to sell five battalions of S-300PMU-1 air defence systems to Iran. These weapons, along with a number of other weapons, were part of a deal, signed in 2007, worth $800 million. Now that these weapons cannot be delivered to Iran, Russia is looking for new customers; according to the Russian press agency Novosti[2], it found one: Venezuela. [...] If Iran, therefore, cannot get the S-300 missiles directly from Russia, it can still have them through its proxy, Venezuela, and deploy them against its staunchest enemy, the U.S.. But that is not all. At present, the geopolitical situation is very different: the world is no longer ruled by two superpowers; new nations, often with questionable leaders and the ambition of acquiring global status, are appearing on the international scene. Their danger to the free world will be greater if the process of nuclear proliferation is not stopped. Among the nations that aspire to become world powers, Iran has certainly the best capabilities of posing a challenge to the West. Judicial Watch Sues Bloomberg Seeking "Ground Zero Mosque" Documents Washington, D.C., United States (AHN) - Judicial Watch announced Thursday that it had filed a lawsuit against New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Iman Feisal Abdul Rauf seeking information about communications between them regarding an Islamic mosque and cultural center that Rauf plans to build a few blocks from Ground Zero. The so-called Ground Zero Mosque has drawn criticism. Now Washington, D.C.-headquartered Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, has filed a petition with the New York State Supreme Court asking it to force Bloomberg to comply with a public records request for communications between he had with Rauf and controversial Muslim groups, Judicial Watch said in a statement. Judicial Watch filed a freedom of information request with Bloomberg's office on Aug. 19. The Mayor's office indicated it would supply the information in 20 days and failed to do so. “Mayor Bloomberg’s support for the Ground Zero mosque needs to be fully explored. New Yorkers are going to want to know how closely he’s working with the radicals supporting the Ground Zero mosque,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is troubling that the Mayor’s office cannot be bothered to comply with the open records law. A crowd of hundreds watched as Anis Saputra, 24, and Kiki Hanafilia, 17, were given eight lashes each at a mosque in Jantho, some 60 kilometers southeast of provincial capital Banda Aceh.

“The people caught them kissing each other in Aceh Besar district’s forest in October. They were yet to have sexual intercourse when they were caught on Oct. 22,” Deby said, adding that Anis’s wife had been seven months pregnant at the time and had been at her parents’ home in Idi Rayeuk, East Aceh.
He said that initially he had asked for six lashes for each, but the pair were instead sentenced to eight each.
During the caning, Kiki’s head was bowed and she appeared to be attempting to not cry out as the rattan cane struck her back.
Anis, however, broke out in tears as the series of lashes landed on his back.
During the public whipping audience members surrounding the stage called out warnings and insults.
“Now you know what happens when you conduct adultery!” one person said, while another cried out, “You are married but still you wanted to cheat!”
Teungku Samsul, a cleric from Aceh Besar, spoke to the crowd before the lashings began, warning parents that a permissive attitude could lead to casual sex among their children.
“Avoid going on dates because it brings you closer to adulterous acts, which are not allowed by Islam,” Teungku said.
“If two people end up together in a lonely spot, there will surely be a third being — the devil — who will continuously tempt you and get you to stray from Allah’s path,” said Samsul, who is also an officer in the Wilayatul Hisbah, the province’s Shariah Police.
“Today’s lashings are a reminder for all Acehnese not to violate Shariah law,” Deby said. “The lashing is not to torture you, it is to get you to feel shame, as a violator of the Shariah law.”
He added that the pair were guilty of violating the 2003 qanun (Islamic bylaw) on khalwat , or close proximity, which bars Muslims from being alone with a member of the opposite sex they are not married or related to.
Kiki’s uncle, Darwin, who watched his niece’s punishment, said that when his niece and Anis had been caught, Anis had been badly beaten by a group of locals before being rescued by village leaders and the police.
Darwin said he believed the pair’s punishment fit the crime.
“I do not regret that my niece is being lashed up there because what she did was humiliating and spoiled the name of the family and our village. If I had been given the chance to lash the both of them, I would have done much worse,” he said.
“If possible these lashings should not just be done just around the capital city, but in every district and subdistrict, so that people see this and will not dare to break Shariah law.”

(Updated 3) A car exploded at the busy shopping street Drottninggatan in central Stockholm. Then there was another explosion some distance away and one man died. According to news agency TT, a man had blown himself to death. He carried six interconnected pipe bombs but only one exploded. He also had a backpack full of nails, according to newspaper Aftonbladet.
Alarm calls started to pour in to the Emergency Services from concerned residents after the explosions in central Stockholm on Saturday afternoon. But the initial information from the police was very unclear. The initial information described two car explosions, but later it proved to be just about one.
“A car at street Olof Palmes gata has exploded, we got the alarm at two minutes over five o'clock PM. Two minutes later, we received yet another alarm about an explosion from street Bryggargatan some distance away," said Ulf Göranzon, at the Stockholm Police.
A man was found dead at the place of the second explosion . According to news agency TT the police assumes that the man was not damaged in the car explosion, but that he somehow blasted himself.
Shouted in Arabic
Police bomb technicians examined the dead man's bag by using a bomb robot. Radiographs show that it contained a large quantity of nails and an unknown substance which is suspected to be explosives.
At least four ambulances were sent to the scene. Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, they had been in the vicinity of the explosions.
According to witnesses, the man shouted something in Arabic before the bomb detonated.
The Swedish news agency TT reports that both them and the Swedish Security Service received a video-film only ten minutes before the explosions.
In the film a man addresses to "Sweden and the Swedish people". He, among else, refers to the Swedish silence on artist Lars Vilks paintings of the muslim prophet Mohammed, the Swedish soldiers in Afghanistan, saying that "now shall your children, daughters and sisters die as our brothers and sisters and children are dying."

The Security Service and the Stockholm Police are in a meeting following the explosions.
There is however still much confusion. The Security Service do not want to make any statement in the current situation. Safety measures have not been increased in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM — One man was killed and two other people were injured when two explosions hit the heart of Stockholm’s city-center shopping district on Saturday evening, the police in the Swedish capital said. The country’s foreign minister called the blasts a terrorist attack, and an e-mail to news organizations minutes before the blasts seemed to link them to anger over anti-Islamic cartoons and the war in Afghanistan.
The police said that a car parked near the busy shopping street of Drottninggatan exploded first, shortly before 5 p.m. Stockholm time, and that the wreckage of the vehicle included gas canisters. A second blast followed minutes later, and about 200 yards from the first. A man’s body, with blast injuries to his abdomen, was discovered after the second explosion.
Swedish newspapers portrayed the dead man as a suicide bomber, and the newspaper Aftonbladet said on its Web site that he had been carrying pipe bombs and a backpack full of nails. But the police declined to confirm this. “We are in the middle of a technical investigation, and we are working methodically to find out what happened,” said a police spokeswoman, Petra Sjolander, who refused to speculate about whether the blasts were a terrorist attack.

MILLBRAE, Calif. — Attorney General Eric Holder reiterated his resolve to prosecute hate crimes while standing behind the methods used in anti-terrorism cases during a speech Friday night before a Muslim advocacy group near San Francisco.
Speaking to Muslim Advocates, a San Francisco-based group, Holder told the group that he's heard from many Muslim and Arab Americans who feel uneasy and singled out by law enforcement.
The organization is one of several groups voicing concerns over hate crimes, alleged rights violations at the hands of law enforcement and the tactics used in anti-terrorism cases.
Carefully-crafted sting operations by FBI and Justice Department officials have included plots against a Portland, Ore., Christmas celebration, Dallas skyscrapers, Washington subways, a Chicago nightclub and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Undercover operatives in these cases have let suspects make clear they wanted to carry out an attack and gave them a chance to change their mind, according to authorities.
But Holder told the group he would make "no apologies" for the handling of the case against Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, a Somali-born Muslim accused of plotting to set off a bomb in Oregon.
"Those who characterize the FBI's activities in this case as "entrapment" simply do not have their facts straight or do not have a full understanding of the law."
In that case, Mohamud has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder of federal officers and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. After his arrest, someone set fire to an Islamic center where he occasionally worshipped.
Critics have called the stings entrapment of people who otherwise couldn't have carried out an attack and said the government has been enticing Muslims into terrorism.
"We have very serious concerns about FBI surveillance tactics that are used. We believe that law enforcement has an important job to protect us as a country but they should do so mindful of the rules of justice and fairness that are at the core of our criminal justice system," said Muslim Advocates executive director Farhana Khera, who invited Holder to speak to the group.

Justice denied for former DePaul Professor Thomas Klocek
For over 14 years, Thomas Klocek was a well-liked adjunct professor at DePaul University School of New Learning. One course he taught was "Critical Thinking." So it's ironic that he was essentially fired by the Chicago Catholic university after engaging in a spirited discussion about Middle Eastern politics with members of Students for Justice in Palestine and United Muslims Moving Ahead at a new students fair at DePaul's downtown campus in 2004. The groups were promoting the usual inflammatory tripe peddled by campus extremists such as comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.
Unaccustomed to critical thinking, the SJP and UMMA members complained to Klocek's deal--and Klocek became a formerDePaul adjunct professor. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) got involved--of course they sided with the Muslim groups. Outside of a mathematics professor and some campus conservatives, no one at DePaul defended Klocek. As for Klocek, a devout Catholic, he learned that standing up for Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, can be a career-ending move.
I've been covering the Klocek case for five years. He sued DePaul in the summer of 2005 for defamation. But shortly before the start of the trial, the third judge assigned to the case, a DePaul law school graduate, dismissed the suit.
His lawyers appealed, but late last month the Illinois Supreme Court decided not to hear Klocek's appeal.
Justice has been denied. Klocek is a good man who got a raw deal. I'm glad to have assisted him in getting the word out about the injustice brought upon him--and I will continue to do so.
Below is a press release from Mauck and Baker, Klocek's law firm:On Monday, November 29, 2010, the Illinois Supreme Court decided not to hear Professor Thomas Klocek’s appeal, bringing an end to his five-year suit against DePaul University for destroying his reputation. The case had been litigated in the circuit court for years in front of a number of different judges: two of which ruled Klocek properly stated valid claims against DePaul; the last of which, however, unexpectedly threw the entire case out on the eve of the trial in 2009. The appellate court was unwilling to disturb any of the circuit court’s holdings, issuing a short order, rather than a published opinion, simply rubber-stamping the circuit court result.
As those who have followed the case may recall, little more than six years ago, Klocek was a well respected part-time professor at DePaul's School for New Learning who, as DePaul’s own Father Kevin Collins put it, was "more likely to talk an ear off about religious and historical fine points than mean to offend" and was "as gentle as he was opinionated and on the erudite side." This gentle and erudite man, who had enjoyed a fourteen year unblemished record of teaching diversity and culture courses to working adults at DePaul apparently talked about religious and historical fine points with the wrong groups (the Students for Justice in Palestine and the United Muslims Moving Ahead) on the wrong campus. What he understood to be a simple, albeit contentious, dialogue lasting all of five minutes with the student activists about their pet issues, turned out to be beyond DePaul's threshold for academic freedom.
The students with the help of the Council on American and Islamic Relations quickly filed complaints with the administration demanding Klocek's removal, and in a rush to a politically-correct judgment, DePaul caved. Instead of caving privately with an eye to Klocek’s rights and reputation, DePaul's administration, without a hearing or even notice to Klocek of the students' charges against him, made a public spectacle of defending the students from the professor who had dared to "dishonor" their perspective and "assault" their beliefs. Though DePaul later claimed Klocek was suspended for his conduct and not his views or his speech, Dean Susanne Dumbleton, Klocek's supervisor, ruled that "No one should ever use the role of teacher to demean the ideas of others or insist on the absoluteness of an opinion, much less press erroneous assertions."

This is clearly an American Muslim, steeped in American culture, who wants to destroy America. And the motive? Islam.
In the video, Mohamud says: “You know what the whole West thing is? They want to insult our religion. They want to take our lands. They want to rape our women while we’re bowing down to them. This is what they want. This country and Europe and all those countries, that’s all they want.”
Look at the bigger picture here. Mohamed Osman Mohamud acts in this video like any other nineteen-year-old in America today. He walks the American walk. He talks the American talk. He could be any American young man in any American town. He is the personification of assimilation, yes? And yet what is he talking? Jihad. What is he trashing? The West.
This is a very important video, a very important point. America pins all her hopes on assimilation, and crows that Muslims in the U.S. assimilate better here than anywhere else in the world. We pop with pride that we won’t suffer the same fate as Europe, because we don’t have Muslim enclaves or no-go zones, as do an increasing number of European cities.
But this video blows that theory right up. No pun intended.
Meanwhile, the would-be bomber’s mosque, which almost immediately claimed that arson had destroyed records in their office, should be questioned. The media propagandists and apologists for Islam are using this arson claim to make the story of Mohamud’s attempted jihad bombing in Portland all about the fictional “backlash” that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) always claims after jihad plots in the U.S. They’re whitewashing the fact that hundreds of Christians would have been massacred in this WMD attack.
But as for the mosque arson, color me skeptical. We have seen this time after time. It is an Islamic pattern to vandalize, set fire to and/or graffiti their own mosques in order to fabricate a “backlash” narrative while advancing Islamic “supremacy” on the backs of the kuffar, using the media shield as a human shield. Muslims vandalized their own mosque in Dayton, Ohio, in 2008, and last July a Muslim was arrested in the case of an “Islamophobic” arson attack against his own mosque in Marietta, Georgia. And meanwhile, the perpetrators of the vandalism of the controversial mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee are still…at large. Hm.
The fire in the mosque in Portland was contained to one room only, burning the Islamic Center’s office. Reports said that the worship areas, which one would expect an “Islamophobe” to target, were left completely untouched. That, too, is consistent with the pattern of faked crimes. No real damage is ever done.
If this really was an act of revenge or backlash, I fiercely condemn it. Until we know, I am not buying.
The arson attack against the Portland mosque was, in my opinion, an attempt to deflect attention away from the blame that the mosque deserves for giving the world Mohamed Mohamud. Who is putting these ideas into the heads of young Muslims? Where is this anti-West, genocidal ideology coming from?
