'A new report discloses that US commanders in Afghanistan are preparing to go ahead with a plan to expand ground operations into tribal areas of Pakistan.
Citing unnamed Washington officials, The New York Times said that the proposal would escalate special operations in Pakistan, opening a new front in the Afghan war.,The proposal "would escalate military activities inside Pakistan, where the movement of American forces has been largely prohibited because of fears of provoking a backlash," it said. The report comes only days after Washington employed a new strategy for the Afghan war.'

'The US government is assembling a new domestic security measure that gathers information about every citizen and resident in America.
The system collects, stores and analyzes information with the help of every state and law enforcement agency about thousands of US citizens and then feeds the information to the FBI, The Washington Post reported. The FBI is building a database with the names and personal information of thousands of Americans whom a local police officer or a fellow citizen believes to be acting suspiciously.'

'In arguing for S.510, the "Food Safety Modernization Act," there are all sorts of attorneys, legislators and internet commentators who keep claiming, "The government won't try to control the food production of small farms." They say, "Your backyard garden is safe" and that the feds won't come knocking on your door to control your seeds or foods.
As usual, these pushers of Big Government are utterly ignorant of the history in their own country. Because as you'll learn right here, not only CAN the U.S. government control and dictate to single-family farms what they can grow in their own backyards; the government has already blatantly done so!
In this article, I'll share with you the full and true story of how Big Government has already run rampant over the rights of individuals to grow their own food -- I'll even cite the US Supreme Court decision that "legalized" this tyranny.'

'Interesting fact: the Chairman of the Met Office board, Robert Napier, is or has been:
Chairman of the Green Fiscal Trust
Chairman of the trustees of the World Centre of Monitoring of Conservation
A director of the Carbon Disclosure Project
A director of the Carbon Group
Chief executive of the World Wildlife Fund UK
He is also a member of the Green Alliance.
If we are supposed to reject the views of scientists, like Richard Lindzen, on the grounds that they have given speeches at thinktanks that have accepted money from oil interests, then I think its fair to say that we can safely discount anything said by the Met Office forthwith.'

'It is official: in the name of "clean energy, pollution control and medicine," the White House is prepared to let scientists, spearheaded by the J. Craig Venter Institute, "manipulate DNA of organisms to forge new life forms," according to a recent AFP article.
The Orwellian language used by Barack Obama's Presidential Commission For The Study of Bioethical Issues is a study in wordiness, misdirection, and obfuscation that is typical when trying to cover up the true intent. For example, on one hand the Commission acknowledges that the J. Craig Venter Institute has found the ability to forge new life forms, but also states that Venter's team didn't create life, since the work primarily involved altering an already existing life form.
Since we won't get straight truth from the mainstream media, science, or the government, it is better advised to look at who Craig Venter is, and what public statements have been issued about this agenda that literally could transform the human race from a naturally evolving species into a manipulated computer code.'

'A pair of blundering cops mistook a downtown man's cigarette break for a suicide attempt, a lawsuit claims. A lawyer enjoying a puff on the sill of his second-floor apartment window says he was wrestled to the floor by cops who hauled him off to the loony bin.
Mark Moody said he was taking his usual nicotine break on the window ledge of his Peck Slip home on a hot August day with a cigarette in one hand and a cellphone in the other, a scant 12 feet off the ground.'

'Six of the biggest banks in the nation have been told by New Jersey's Supreme Court Chief Justice that unless they can prove otherwise, they will have to stop tens of thousands of foreclosures in the Garden State.
"This is something we have focused on for a number of months," Chief Justice Stuart Rabner told NBCNewYork in a conference call with reporters Monday afternooon.
New Jersey's action follows similar moves in other states where lawyers for homeowners have found bankers using so-called "robo signing" to process the paperwork of foreclosures, when court rules require the banker involved to have specific knowledge of each case.'

'It will bring financial pain to seven million home owners with floating interest rates who will see a jump of almost £200 on a typical monthly mortgage payment.
Charities have already warned that repossessions are likely to rise next year and the threat of a succession of quick interest rate rises will exacerbate their fears. The Confederation of British Industry predicts that higher than anticipated rises in the cost of living will push the Bank of England (BoE) to begin increasing interest rates in the spring.'

'It might even get worse: “It is quite possible that we are at the beginning of a Little Ice Age,” the meteorologist said. Even the Arctic ice could spread further to the south."
In Berlin, there was an absolute cold record in early December, “For 100 years it had not been as cold as in the first decade of December,” said Globig. The last two weeks have been the coldest in England since the second-to-last solar minimum, many hundreds of years ago.'

'One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been Bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the Bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The Bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge - even to ourselves - that we've been so credulous.'

'First the British government floated the idea of banning protests. Now they are talking about censoring the internet.
The UK government has announced it is discussing a plan that would automatically block all pornographic websites. It is said the effort is designed to protect children. Draconian efforts to limit the free choices of individuals are often sold to citizens as a way to protect children.
According to NewsCore, the biggest broadband providers in the UK, including BT, Virgin Media and TalkTalk, are being ordered to a meeting next month by Ed Vaizey, the communications minister, and will be instructed to block content. In the past, people decided what to view on the internet. It was their responsibility to monitor what content their children viewed. Now the British nanny state will take over that job.'

'The Washington Post today reports on the vast growing domestic spying apparatus that the federal government is using, in conjunction with the Pentagon, to target millions of law-abiding American citizens who have not been accused of any wrongdoing.
In a lengthy report entitled “Monitoring America”, the Post details how a vast centralized snooping machine is being constructed and employed by local, state and federal agencies as well as military investigators, to collect, store and analyze swathes of personal information.
Everything contained within the Post’s article has already been reported and covered in depth by this website and others in the alternative media that have consistently warned of the threat of the exponential rise of the big brother spy system over the past decade.'

'Pakistan has ruled out the idea of any foreign troops operating on its soil, saying it is capable of defeating militants within its borders.
The announcement has been made by Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani while commenting on a report by The New York Times that cited unnamed Washington officials. The report had disclosed that American military commanders in Afghanistan are preparing to go ahead with a plan to expand ground operations into tribal areas of Pakistan.
“Pakistani forces are capable of handling the militant threat within our borders and no foreign forces are allowed or required to operate inside our sovereign territory,” Pakistan's Dawn news agency quoted Haqqani as saying on Tuesday.'

'The European Commission says the air travel disruption across Europe because of heavy snowfalls is “unacceptable” and should not happen again.
Due to the recent heavy snowfalls, several airports in different parts of Europe have faced problems, including shortage of de-icing fluid. The Heathrow airport in London, for instance, has reported difficulties in dealing with a backlog of flights.
Although some airport officials claimed that the snowfall was not predictable, Siim Kallas -- the European Commission Vice President in charge of transport -- said that such weather was not far from expectation in Europe and the airport operators should have planned beforehand to manage such situations.'

'The British government has been training a Bangladeshi paramilitary force condemned by human rights organisations as a "government death squad", leaked US embassy cables have revealed.
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), which has been held responsible for hundreds of extra-judicial killings in recent years and is said to routinely use torture, have received British training in "investigative interviewing techniques" and "rules of engagement".
Details of the training were revealed in a number of cables, released by WikiLeaks, which address the counter-terrorism objectives of the US and UK governments in Bangladesh. One cable makes clear that the US would not offer any assistance other than human rights training to the RAB – and that it would be illegal under US law to do so – because its members commit gross human rights violations with impunity.'

'Exposure to fluoride may lower children's intelligence says a study pre-published in Environmental Health Perspectives, a publication of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Fluoride is added to 70% of U.S. public drinking water supplies.
According to Paul Connett, Ph.D., director of the Fluoride Action Network, "This is the 24th study that has found this association, but this study is stronger than the rest because the authors have controlled for key confounding variables and in addition to correlating lowered IQ with levels of fluoride in the water, the authors found a correlation between lowered IQ and fluoride levels in children's blood. This brings us closer to a cause and effect relationship between fluoride exposure and brain damage in children".'

'When you go to the major alternative news sites these days, you can see the atmosphere of the planet is all turmoil, chaos and confusion. When you travel through the mainstream media, you get a soporific hum of everything getting better for the Teletubbies and Schmoos who believe that sort of thing.
Every single day there were announcements about ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ being repealed. This is one of the engines of the Zionist empire, in its efforts to destroy the United States. Concern about 2% of the population being allowed to camp it up in uniform, translates into another 2-3% percent of specially abled world rulers, gussied up and camping it up in victim suits.
We’re in the final days of frantic insanity, as those causing all the problems migrate into the role of problem solvers. They’re going to sacrifice some number of their fellows, while deploring the need for it and then seek to become prominent in emergent movements and slots opening up in political; economic, media, entertainment and religious spheres. They’re being groomed and having their past waxed or created at this moment.'

'CCTV has led to large scale arrests, following the recent student protests in London, over increased tuition fees. A total of over 180 people have been arrested, with the majority identified by CCTV.
The current arrests very much represent a landmark - we are now equipped for the Chinese approach to public order, in almost a complete reversal previous British policing. The power of the new system is based on the ability to track down individuals at leisure. However, this ability could be used as easily to track anyone, in “political policing” of lawful democratic activity.'

'On December 11 the presidents of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan and the energy minister of India met in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat to bring to fruition fifteen years of planning by interests in the United States to bring natural gas from the Caspian Sea to the energy-needy nations of South and East Asia.
Presidents Hamid Karzai, Asif Ali Zardari and Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov along with Indian Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora signed agreements – an Inter-Government Agreement and the Gas Pipeline Transmission Agreement – to construct a natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. The initials of the first three countries involved lend themselves to the project’s acronym: TAP, now known as TAPI.
The Inter-Government Agreement "enjoins the four governments to provide all support including security for the pipeline".'

“This is not a global event; it is very much confined to the UK and Western Europe and if you look over at Greenland, for example, you see that it’s exceptionally warm there,” she said. “The key message is that global warming continues.”
This is the same misinformation that Hansen has been repeating. Most of Greenland, Alaska and Western Canada are running well below normal temperatures. It is -46F on the Greenland ice sheet headed down to -63F later this week.

'A storm pounding California with record rain forced authorities in the San Joaquin Valley to order 2,000 residents to evacuate the farming community of McFarland due to major flooding.
An estimated 400 to 500 homes were in danger, Kern County Fire Department spokesman Sean Collins said. A sheriff's helicopter crew was trying to locate the source of the flooding, which possibly was coming from ditches and canals that supply water to farms, Collins said. Two evacuation centers were set up. "We cannot mandatorily evacuate anybody," Collins said. "If a person wants to stay, we cannot arrest them".'

'Victims of clerical sex abuse have reacted furiously to Pope Benedict's claim yesterday that paedophilia wasn't considered an “absolute evil” as recently as the 1970s.
In his traditional Christmas address yesterday to cardinals and officials working in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI also claimed that child pornography was increasingly considered “normal” by society.
“In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,” the Pope said.'
