Laura: While Bibi has an undeserved reputation as being tough and a hardliner, in reality he is weak and wobbly. That he would even consider apologizing to and giving reparations to turkey, makes me sick. This is a country which essentially committed an act of war against Israel by sending terrorists to attempt to break the blockade of Gaza and instigate a violent confrontation with the IDF. Not suprisingly the White House is on board with this idea. What Israel needs are proud Jewish and Zionist leaders. Instead they have groveling, feckless “leaders”. Is it any wonder that the world consistently condemns every Israeli military action when Israeli leaders apologize and act as though their country has done something wrong? How can the rest of the world believe Israel is in the right if Israel itself is apologetic for self-defense against aggressors?
An Israeli apology may just deepen the rift with Turkey

A Jewish State Without Judaism (G-d) is a Racist State.
I find it incomprehensible the calls to discuss Israel in almost any context without alluding to or discussing outright the Jewish connection and context past and present. There is no way one can reference Judaism without referring to G-d of Abraham, Isaak and Jacob. Jews cannot unite under atheist principles or defend Israel properly in any international forum by atheists. Rational arguments fall on deaf ears to those who hate the concept of Israel irrationally (most of the world it seems). This essay comes close to much of my thinking on the subject. Yamit
Obadia Shoher
There is no justification for Jewish nationalism, statehood, and existence other than Judaism.
What are the alternatives, anyway? I cannot stand the silliness of the “historical right.” Look into an encyclopedia. Jews were sovereign on this land, in traditional chronology, from David’s conquest of Jerusalem in 1034 to 719 BCE when the Assyrians sacked Israel, a total of 315 years. That...

StandWithUs Northwest takes on the Anti-Israel ad campaign
WHAT StandWithUs Northwest HAS DONE
Last Friday evening, we confirmed that an anti-Israel group was planning to run anti-Israel “Israeli War Crimes” ads on at least 12 buses running through downtown Seattle. Saturday evening, we sent out the first of our three email StandWithUs alert messages and you responded. People from all over the world wrote to the suggested recipients and are working to make a difference.
Many of you have copied us with the emails you’ve sent in to the King County Councilmembers and Metro. We’ve received copies of over 1,800 emails so far. And we know that that is only a small portion of the emails that have been sent – not everyone copied us on their emails. Plus, the phones at Metro have been ringing off the hook with complaints about Metro accepting the anti-Israel “Israeli War Crimes” ad.
Since Monday, StandWithUs Northwest’s professional and Seattle lay leadership have been on the phones, calling King...
PM refuses to reveal his ‘final borders’ map
Apparently Netanyahu is sticking to his demands and adding others. He is also resolute with Hamas. Best of all construction is well on its way for a record year. T. Belman
One Israeli official said that while Netanyahu is not opposed to discussing borders, he is unwilling to do so in a vacuum “without first having a clear understanding of security issues, and the character of a future Palestinian state.”
Before discussing a map of a future state of Palestine, the official said, Netanyahu wants to “first discuss the security map.”
Netanyahu has said that in any future agreement Israel would have to retain a security presence on the Jordan River, and – according to a recent Newsweek story – has told the Palestinians he also wants Israeli troops stationed along territory on the Palestinian side of the security barrier to protect the country’s “narrow waistline.”
The official said it is impossible to discuss the contours of a border...
Since end of freeze: 13,000 homes approved
Three months after the moratorium on settlement construction in the West Bank came to an end, the settlements are growing at an almost unprecedented pace
According to data from the Peace Now organization, work has begun on no less than 1,712 new housing units, and in almost every second settlement there is a significant building project. This is especially noticeable in the outlying and smaller settlements.
In some 65 settlements there is a large construction project. In Kedumim, 76 new units have been started since the end of the freeze, in Revava 60, in Elazar 58, in Karmei Tzur 42 and in Neria 30.
In other settlements too the bulldozers are working overtime. In Shaked, 25 housing units are under construction, in both Paduel and Rehan 24, in Ateret 18, in Susia 15 and Maaleh Michmash 11. And the list goes on.
All this construction has begun since the direct talks with the Palestinians broke down and Israel decided not to extend the moratorium on West Bank...
Saudi Arabia is aligned with Iran, Hamas and the Taliban
By Rachel Ehrenfield
Conspicuously, neither Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz nor the rulers of any Arab or Muslim state are holding special national telethons to help raise funds for some 400,000 new Pakistani refugees. Many fled their homes after the Taliban took over the Swat valley, and others were forced to leave amid the fierce fighting between the Taliban and the Pakistani military. The Saudis say they are friends of the West and of all Muslim nations, but their real alliance is with Iran, Hamas and the Taliban–as you can tell just by following the money.
Indeed, to get hundreds of millions, and even billions, of dollars in emergency funds from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Gulf States, the Pakistani refugees should have declared themselves Palestinian.
Since January 2009, or in just over four months, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States have given between $1.646 billion and $1.950 billion to the Palestinians, according to figures published on the Web site of...
