A COMPLETE AND UTTER FAILURE, JUST LIKE HIS IRAN POLICY
'Smart Diplomacy' of Dumbbell Democrats
Projected Weakness, Ignored Vital Interests
In short, the gang that came into office touting the need for "smart" diplomacy wasn't smart at all. It projected weakness and ignored vital issues, including human rights. And, lo and behold, we got a more aggressive, more thuggish China.
The South China Morning Post reports on "Iran's Shell Game:"
Despite the fact Hong Kong companies have played a key role in helping Iran's state-owned shipping line evade UN sanctions, the city's government has yet to say when it will enact legislation necessary to stop them.
Nearly seven months after the United Nations passed new sanctions against Iran - with China's support - Hong Kong has not passed laws to give city officials the power to enforce the measures.
KEY QUESTION: What would the military/political fallout be from such an incident, given media reports that Israel and the United States were behind the cyber-attack? Iran would almost certainly retaliate, using Hezbollah and overseas operatives of the SS-like Revolutionary Guards. The Hitlerian proxy, now running Lebanon, could draw on its arsenal of missiles (currently estimated at about 45,000), and the monstrous mullahocracy has about 300 missiles capable of striking Israel. Venezuela and North Korea could come to Iran's defense, or threaten to, at least, and so could Syria. Anything is possible.
So far, Stuxnet seems to have been a brilliant move--a non-lethal, electronic alternative to bombing Iran's menacing nuclear and missile installations. But Stuxnet could also be seen as a wounding of the venomous snake that is Islamist Iran. And, as anyone who has ever spent any time in deadly snake country knows, one does not merely wound such a creature; one kills it, quickly, if it poses a threat.
