UNPRECEDENTED ADVOCACY ROLE
French sources say Paris fears a Muslim uprising this spring or summer, and that the pro-Islamist Obama administration will condemn French police and security forces when they inevitably clash with rioters and violent, rampaging protesters.

In fact, the Abdul Hamid II period, when pan-Islamism (with a populist patina) became the official policy of the Ottoman state to avoid the dissolution of the empire, is the example that inspires Turkey's crypto-Islamist ruling party. Abdul Hamid (or Abdulhamid) failed; but his emphasis of the Caliphate is critical to an understanding of the present situation, including U.S. President Barack Obama's support for Turkey's bid for EU membership. The Obama administration sees a revival of the Caliphate, "moderate" Islamism, a "moderate" Iranian mullahocracy, and "Islamic Democracy" as somehow ... progressive ... part of the "moral arc of the universe" ... developments and trends to be supported, managed and manipulated. Non- or anti-Islamist Muslim leaders are to be discarded. Israel, a Jewish State stuck in the heart of the Muslim Middle East, is to be squeezed and diminished, and, slowly but surely, peace-by-pieces, dissolved or dismantled.

Emerging reports early Feb. 21 indicate the unrest in Libya is spreading from eastern Libya to the capital of Tripoli. According to initial reports, heavy gunfire was heard in central Tripoli and in other districts, with Al Jazeera reporting 61 people killed in Tripoli on Feb. 21. Other unconfirmed reports say protesters attacked the headquarters of Al-Jamahiriya Two television and Al-Shababia as well as other government buildings in Tripoli overnight. According to Saudi-owned Al Arabiya, the People’s Conference Centre where the Libyan parliament meets when it is in session in Tripoli was set on fire. Energy company BP reportedly said it would evacuate its personnel from Libya and suspend its activities due to massive unrest. Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez said Feb. 21 that the EU member states are coordinating possible evacuations of European nationals from Libya. A Turkish Airlines flight was arranged to evacuate Turkish citizens from Benghazi but was denied the opportunity to land by Libyan authorities and returned to Turkey.
Details are sketchy as to the number of protesters and severity of the clashes in Tripoli. Clashes have been going on between the protesters and security forces mostly in eastern cities of the country and in Benghazi in particular, where opposition to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi is concentrated. Signs of protests spreading to Tripoli emerged late Feb. 20 and apparently intensified following a speech made by Gadhafi’s son, Seif al-Islam. In that speech, Seif al-Islam was attempting to present himself as the new and untarnished face of the regime, reiterating the political, social and economic reforms that he has long advocated were needed to hold Libya’s tribal society together. Though in his speech Seif al-Islam carefully distanced himself from old-regime tactics, protesters in Tripoli reportedly rejected the young Libyan leader and began chanting slogans against Seif al-Islam’s address.
Critically, Seif al-Islam implied in his speech that he had the the approval of his father and elements within the military, and that the army and national guard would be relied on to crack down on “seditious elements” spreading unrest. However, unconfirmed reports of army defections in Benghazi and Al Bayda in eastern Libya from Feb. 20, and now spreading unrest to Tripoli on Feb. 21, are casting some doubt on the regime’s ability to count on the full loyalty and ability of the army to contain the situation.

The Obama administration's meetings with the clerical fascist Muslim Brotherhood before and during the Egyptian upheaval recall President Dwight D. Eisenhower's 1953 White House encounter with a visiting delegation of foreign fundamentalist Muslim leaders that included the MB's international organizer, Said Ramadan. Leading up to the Eisenhower-Ramadan meeting, U.S. diplomats in Cairo met regularly during the late 1940s. with Ramadan's father-in-law, the MB's pro-Nazi founder, Hasan al-Banna.
Historical context. Throughout the Cold War, Washington saw the Saudi-financed Muslim Brotherhood a bulwark against Soviet influence and the potential spread of Communism in the Middle East and regional movements that were viewed by the United States as dangerously sympathetic to Moscow--Arab nationalism and Arab socialism.
Today, following the Bush administration's failure to defeat radical Islam, the Obama administration aims to actually align with the movement's "moderate" factions.
Moderate Islamism! Imagine, if you can, that it's 1951, and an emotionally exhausted, economically drained U.S. is still at war with Nazi Germany, having failed to deliver mass death to the monstrous enemy in an undeclared, deliberately misnamed "War Against Blitzkrieg"--so as not to offend German-American sensibilities. Imagine, too, that the U.S. has bled itself dry by attacking and invading ... the Soviet Union ... after Pearl Harbor, in order to get rid of Stalin and install a Russian democracy, the success of which, Americans were assured, would inspire freedom-loving people across Europe, and help to bring democratic transformations of totalitarian regimes everywhere. But the Russian invasion in this alternative hisotry proved to be a monumental strategic blunder; and a broken-up, post-Stalin USSR, crawling with all kinds of unchained fascists and fascist sympathizers, was fast becoming a German satellite. Against this depressing background, a newly elected U.S. president, himself the son of a German immigrant father, is trying, with the support of America's business and academic elites--and a pro-appeasement, anti-Semitic press--to negotiate with supposedly moderate Nazis who are said to be tired of Hitler....
Enough said. The picture is pretty clear. And it isn't pretty. Nearly nine-and-a-half years after 9/11, the Obama administration is bent on finding and engaging (code for appeasing and aligning with) a whole host of Islamist "moderates," including wings of the assssination-prone MB and its suicide bomb-loving Palestinian affiliate, Hamas; Hitlerian Hezbollah; the medieval Taliban; and, of course, the nuclear-arming Iranian mullahocracy. The U.S. goal with regard to Iran isn't really regime replacement; rather, it is regime remodeling--i.e. to install a new and improved "Turkish model" of so-called Islamist democracy.

The Obama administration continues to pressure an American ally, as reported here.
Bahrain's monarchy has outlived its usefulness, according to the administration. The king may be able to survive by agreeing to become a figurehead. More likely, he will have to surrender and go into exile.
