No Settlement in Sight

Sultan Knish

During a week in which half the Middle-East was in flames, the diplomatic chatter over a UN condemnation of Israel’s so-called “settlements” showed just how irrelevant Western diplomacy is to the real issues in the region. The riots in Bahrain, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Iran were not about a few Jewish villages on one side of a line on a map that has been redrawn half a dozen times in the 20th century. The trouble with the Muslim world does not lie in the vineyards of the Judean Hills, the glass factories of Ariel, the academies of the revived Maccabean town of Modi’in Illit, the solar panel plants of Nazareth Illit, the dairies of Carmel or the fruit orchards of Gush Etzion.

Ever since ten Arab nations lost a war to Israel over six days in the spring of 1967, too many diplomats have acted as if it were its responsibility to fix the Muslim world. In 1973, Israel was set up to lose a war in order to bolster Muslim self-esteem. But Israel...

Why Israel Worries About Jordan

By Asaf Romirowsky, The National Interest

Along with much of the rest of the Middle East, Amman is facing a rising tide of anti-government fervor. The Jordanian monarchy is under increasing pressure. After the fall of the Mubarak regime, the Israelis are worried that yet another peace partner could collapse.

In Amman, leaders of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood, known as the Islamic Action Front, promise to continue demonstrations until their demands are met. Among other things, they are calling for constitutional changes that include making the prime minister the parliamentary majority leader, rather than a royal appointee.

The IAF, cut from the same radical ideological cloth of the global Muslim Brotherhood, commands between 20 and 30 percent support in Jordan. The group has used the country’s high unemployment and economic malaise—currently Jordan has a record deficit of $2 billion and unemployment of over 12 percent—to galvanize the public.

The rise of the Brotherhood...

Pakistani “Muslims” Kill Christian Woman and her Children

Christ killing jihadists kill woman and her four children for being Christians
by Bill Levinson

Muslims kill Christian woman and children

A Christian woman and her four children were murdered by a Muslim mob in Jhelum, Pakistan after her 11-year-old son was accused of committing blasphemy.

Militant “Islamic” propaganda seeks to blood libel Jews as “Christ Killers” even though Israel is probably the only country in the Middle East in which Jesus would NOT be stoned, crucified, hanged, or beheaded if he showed up there today. The murder of this Christian woman and her children under color of Islam shows beyond any doubt who the 21st century’s Christ Killers really are, and this needs to be made clear to the Christian world.

Militant “Muslims” are hostis humani generis (enemies of all Mankind), at war with Civilization in their own words as well as their deeds. Militant “Islam” defines the non-Muslim world (which may in...

Qaradawi is Egypt’s Khomeini

See also :Qaradawi and The Treason of the Intellectuals. By Andrew G. Bostom

By BARRY RUBIN, JPOST

Friday, February 18 may be a turning point in Egyptian history. On that day Yusuf al-Qaradawi spoke to a giant cheering crowd in Tahrir Square.

He praised the army – to ward off it’s repression and to encourage it to support a transformation of the country.

He preached caution and patience, working with the army.

And he also lavished praise on the pro-Islamist chairman of the committee to write the new constitution, which may not be a good sign at all.

There is one easily missed word in his speech that is the most significant. That word is “hypocrites.” In the Islamist lexicon, hypocrites means Muslims who do not practice “true” Islam according to the radicals. To take Egypt out of the hands of “hypocrites” is to put it onto the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood – or at least similarly minded people – which, contrary to the best and the brightest policy makers,...

PM’s latest stance on Palestinian state likely a thank-you
By HERB KEINON, JPOST

In what could be the initial repayment to the US for its Friday veto of the Palestinian anti-settlement resolution in the UN Security Council, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu went further toward embracing the idea of a Palestinian state in a statement he issued Saturday night than in any of his previous speeches or statements.

“Israel deeply appreciates the decision by President Obama to veto the Security Council resolution today,” read the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office. “Israel remains committed to pursuing comprehensive peace with all our neighbors, including the Palestinians. We seek a solution that will reconcile the Palestinians’ legitimate aspiration for statehood with Israel’s need for security and recognition.”

This was the first time that Netanyahu came out and endorsed Palestinian statehood in such unequivocal language, and this statement...

Pakistani Muslims Torture Christian to Death

The Twenty-First Century’s Christ Killers: What would they do to JESUS?
by Bill Levinson

Militant “Islamic” propaganda blood libels Jews as so-called Christ Killers but the truth is that Israel is probably the only Middle Eastern country in which Jesus could safely preach his ideas today. This is not to say that Israelis would be receptive but they would recognize his right to speak without fear for his personal safety. It is on the other hand quite clear what our century’s REAL Christ Killers would do to Jesus if they got their hands on him.

Muslim seminary students in Pakistan tortured a young Christian for five days and nights to force him to convert to Islam, according to a British human-rights monitor.
