Laura: As far as the depraved, degenerate leftists in the western media are concerned, the murder of five members of the Fogel family is not really an evil act or an act of terrorism at all since according to them they were “settlers” and “occupiers”. This is why there has been scant coverage and the coverage this has received has been met with indifference or has been focused on “settlements”. So, for the leftist media the real victims aren’t the Fogel family but those who cut the throats of this family in their sleep. And of course the slaughter of a Jewish baby and children as other such murders, are celebrated by the “palestinians” by passing out candy. There are also those who make the pathetic attempt to equate such a horrific act with the IDF killing of “palestinians”. But there is no moral equivalence. The IDF doesn’t purposely target civilians, they do not go into homes and slash the throats of infants. This view exemplifies the morally bankrupt state of liberalism. And still western ‘liberals’ support these people Melanie Phillips, The Spectator http://www.spectator.co.uk/melaniephillips/6776460/and-still-western-liberals-support-these-people.thtml The Palestinian terrorist slaughter overnight of an Israeli couple Rabbi Udi Fogel and his wife Ruth and three of their children, 11-year-old Yoav, four-year-old Elad and three-month-old Hadas who were stabbed to death in their house in Itamar in Samaria -- three other children aged under 12 survived -- has received scant coverage in the British and western media. True, the Japanese tsunami is driving out much other news. But there can be little doubt that the sluggish reaction is due in no small measure to the fact that the British media and intellectual class think – and sometimes even say – that the Israeli ‘settlers’ deserve what they get. Thus Israelis living on land to which they are legally entitled are dehumanised, and even their murders are shrugged off as of little account. Thus the moral cesspool into which Britain’s intellectual elite has sunk. We don’t yet know who perpetrated this latest atrocity. What must be emphasised however is that, quite apart from the open calls to genocide of the Jews by Hamas, as Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said the ‘wild incitement’ by the Palestinian Authority against Israelis, perpetrated without remission through its educational materials, in its mosques and on PA-controlled TV, is directly to blame for creating the incendiary atmosphere of hysterical and fanatical hatred that gives rise to such savagery. Through these channels the PA indoctrinates its people into hatred of Jews and the glorification of mass murder of Israelis. As CAMERA has noted: The brutal attack comes only days after a West Bank Palestinian youth center announced a soccer tournament named after Wafa Idris, the first female Palestinian suicide bomber, who killed an 81-year-old man and injured over 100 other Israelis... The killer undoubtedly internalized the message, reinforced time and time again, that it’s noble and heroic to kill Jews. The same goes for the person who planned the attack, and the one who transported the killer, and any other enablers. In the light of this, the sickeningly ambiguous response by the Holocaust-denying PA ‘President’ Mahmoud Abbas was all too telling: In a statement released by his office, Abbas ‘stressed his rejection and condemnation of all violence directed against civilians, regardless of who was behind it or the reason for it. Abbas added that ‘violence produces violence and what is needed is to speed up a just and comprehensive solution to the conflict.’ Earlier on Saturday, the Palestinian Authority said that there was no evidence of Palestinian involvement in the terror attack in Itamar. Of course, a ‘just and comprehensive solution’ will only arrive when the Arabs stop promoting the genocidal murder of Israelis and the conquest of their country -- and when we no longer see as a result nauseating scenes such as in the picture above, where Gazan Arabs celebrated the murder of the Fogel family by handing out sweets. But responsibility for the evil atmosphere which incites such pogroms does not rest solely with the Arabs of the PA or Hamas. It must also be laid at the door of those left-wing Israeli and western journalists and intellectuals who are obsessively egging on these Jew-hating exterminators. As the Mayor of Ariel, Ron Nachman, has said: ...Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad calling for a boycott of goods manufactured in the settlements as well as Israeli newspapers ‘separating settlers from Israelis living on the other side of the Green Line’ were responsible for inciting the terrorists to carry out the attack in Itamar. The Arab incitement is simply not reported by the western media. As CAMERA also noted about the PA naming the square after Wafa Idris: The glorification of this suicide bomber, though, was virtually ignored by Western media outlets, many of whom did find time to report, in great detail, on the first home game by the Palestinian national soccer team. And of course, let’s not forget the EU which has funded the PA -- and therefore its genocidal incitement against Jews and Israelis -- to the tune of millions of euros. But the promotion of this Nazi-style Jew-hatred and incitement through indoctrination in permanent genocidal warfare by the direct heirs of the Nazis’ Arab front – the actual reason for the Middle East conflict -- is the one thing that is ignored by the Obama administration, the EU and the British government, all of whom blame Israel instead for preventing a solution to that conflict. What price now those British and European ‘liberals’ as they weep their crocodile tears over Libya and beat their chests over democracy and human rights, while actively endorsing and promoting the Arab neo-Nazi demonisation and dehumanisation of Israelis -- which results in the slaughter of a family which they then proceed to downplay or ignore? Palestinian Hamas websites quickly hailed the murder of a mother, father and three of their children, aged, 11, three and a baby of a month, whose throats were slashed in their sleep at Itamar, south of Nablus Friday night, March 11 as "a heroic operation." The escape of at least two Palestinian killers long before the alarm was sounded after midnight was eased by the dismantling of most Israeli security checkpoints on the West Bank and slow military vigilance. debkafile's intelligence and counter-terror sources disclose that the Itamar attack was the first result of an Iran-funded secret conference in Khartoum last week of the heads of the national branches of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Arab world, at which a plan was charted for Hamas to launch a multi-casualty terrorist assaults against Israel on both sides of the Green Line – over and above missile attacks from the Gaza Strip in order to ignite the third Palestinian uprising (intifada). The Egyptian Brotherhood is the parent organization of Hamas. This decision was a facet of a comprehensive plan drawn up in Khartoum for Brotherhood activists to fire up the uprisings in the various Arab countries. With Iranian backing and funding, the different branches resolved to coordinate operations for using the unrest to take control of Arab capitals. Iranian intelligence officers attending the conference used the occasion to set up direct contacts with Brotherhood leaders who came from Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Great Britain. The Palestinian delegation representing Hamas-Gaza was headed by Mahmoud A-Zahar and Hamas-Damascus headed by Khaled Meshaal. The plan for Hamas to revive terrorist [acts] on the West Bank and inside Israel was an important part of the Iranian-backed resolutions reached at the Khartoum conference. debkafile notes that not a single Arab government – not even Israel – prevented the Brotherhood and Hamas delegates from setting out for Khartoum. No word of the conference was allowed to leak to the Israeli public and Israeli security authorities appear not to have adapted their practices to the decisions reached by the Islamists there. This could explain why there was no prior terror alert for the Itamar killings or apparent IDF redeployment for an upsurge of multiple terrorist murders even though Hamas networks had been known to be regrouping in Judea and Samaria for the purpose of attacking and kidnapping Israelis on both sides of the Green Line. Several Palestinians were recently detained at the few remaining West Bank checkpoints carrying pipe bombs, knives and fire bombs. Despite appeals from West Bank Israeli community leaders, the military did not recommend putting any of the checkpoints back - even though the Palestinian Authority's security services had slowed down their counter-terror cooperation and intellience-sharing with Israel, therefore failing to keep their side of the bargain for the removal of the checkpoints. For more than a year, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak acceded to relentless US and European pressure to grant West Bank Palestinians almost unrestricted freedom of movement and generous aid for their economic development as a means of persuading PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas to return to the negotiating table. This policy failed in its purpose while leaving Israelis vulnerable once again to terrorist attacks. None of these alarming developments were brought to public notice in Israel. Jerusalem is still trying to pretend that Egypt remains faithful to its 1979 peace treaty, whereas nothing of those relations appears to have survived the fall of Hosni Mubarak.
"If this is not a terror attack, what is?" Israeli government press liaison asks network in a letter demanding an apology.(JPost) The director of Israel's Government Press Office sent a letter to CNN's Jerusalem Bureau Chief Sunday demanding an apology for a story on CNN's website that put "terror attack" in quotations in the headline of its story on Friday night's atrocity in Itamar.
Responding to the story headlined "Israeli Family of 5 Killed in 'Terror Attack,' Military Says," Oren Helman wrote Kevin Flower that he was "dumbfounded and astonished" to read that the slaughter of the Fogel family is "what the Israeli army calls a 'terrorist attack'."
"Your remarks sound as if we are talking about an IDF 'claim' that this was 'a terrorist attack' and that this is not necessarily the case," he wrote. "If this is not a terrorist attack, then what is?"
Helman, saying that "there is a limit to the extent of objectivity regarding such a horrific deed," wrote that an apology from CNN was in order.
CNN International, in response, said that it does not respond in public to private correspondence. The news organization did issue a statement saying, however, that it was "standard journalistic practice for news organizations to put quotation marks around remarks attributed to third parties."

Apparently, in CNN's world, it wasn't a terror attack.
Jewish Family Massacred? Not Big News for World
As five members of one Jewish family were being laid to rest, news of their sadistic massacre had all but disappeared from the world's leading news websites. As of 11:00 AM EDT Sunday the item was completely missing from CNN's homepage, while appearing in a low spot on both the BBC and FoxNews websites.
The latter two news outlets headlined the Israeli government's decision to build 500 new homes in Judea and Samaria rather than the funeral of the family.
FoxNews used text it received from the Associated Press, which did not use the word "murder" to describe the crime, but rather said that the Fogels were "knifed to death" and referred to what happened as "killings." While noting that three of the victims were children, it did not note that the youngest was a three-month-old girl and another was a three-year-old boy.
'Radical settlers'
The Associated Press / Fox News piece did see fit to note that the attack took place "in Itamar, home to some of Israel's most radical settlers" - in an apparent attempt to make the victims seem less innocent and more deserving of their fate.
The BBC quoted Army radio as reporting that "two other children had been spared," making it sound as if the murderers had mercy on them. In fact, reports on Israeli media suggest nothing of the kind - and uniformly assume that the murderers would have killed the other two children had they known they were in the home. The two boys who were not hurt had been sleeping in separate rooms and the terrorists did not notice them.
The relatively low-key reporting cannot be explained by the prominence of reporting about the earthquake in Japan, because on all three leading websites sampled by Israel National News, there are numerous other stories that are featured between the Japan coverage and the stories about Itamar.
As stories from the Middle East often tend to dominate world news, the downplaying of the Itamar massacre is curious from a professional point of view, even if one ignores its grisly aspects. Predictably, the massacre has galvanized Jewish public opinion against any further concessions to the Palestinian Authority and has triggered a government reaction blaming PA incitement for the crime. This could mean that the crime will turn into a watershed event for Israeli public opinion and government policy. Mainstream news media appears to be ignoring these aspects of the story.
