HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION Dr. Eugene Narrett, Ph.D Now is the time for all good people to stop watching Television, not least the “news” geared as it is toward disaster, panic and terror. Not that the image-weavers want you to lose your nerve and wits and stampede over a cliff, financial, social, emotional, etc. Now that the puppeteers have wrecked the economy, financial system, housing market and credit, education, political structure and respect for law, they are busy selling the urgency of “humanitarian intervention” to save the fanatics and mercenaries who have been set on that long time darling of the screen, Muammar Khadafy. Tune in for some reality TV at the end of which the man of many disguises may have his own version of Gilligan’s Island complete with super-starlets dancing for a million bucks / show. What a fine humanitarian gesture that is. The ruling cadres of Russia and China must be alternately gnashing their teeth and marveling with attentive awe at the enormous expansion of Anglo-American / NATO influence and power from northwestern Africa to Afghanistan. Crisis is the best way to centralize power and the British (imitated decades later by the French)[1] pioneered the use of the Islamic world as the perfect crisis-starter: the impulse to chaotic violence is hard-wired. It is painful to listen to the highly paid hairstyles who two months ago were chattering on cue about the ‘twitter revolution’ nattering and simpering today about the humanitarian crisis faced by the brave Libyan people in their ‘spontaneous’ uprising against the brutal dictator etc, etc. With on-demand grave voices (like a “family services officer” giving his standard lecture to ‘the parties’ in a modern discard & pillage-the-father divorce) they utter the holy words, “the UN” or “the coalition” and describe the resolutions authorizing the use of force. They speculate and ‘debate’ about whether the head of State is an image of resolve, compassion or weakness. It is affecting to watch Western diplomats hiding behind spokesmen from various Islamic states as they dutifully demand intervention on behalf of “the people” and the ousting of a kindred despot. The sordid farce apparently must play itself out before its sinister backdrop of digitalized graphics and “breaking news” showing the same jets, bombed tanks, and lunatics shooting assault rifles into the sky to show their jubilation that the powers are with them in mayhem. The same powers that ignored the daily dispatches sent from Poland to the Polish government in exile in London detailing the round up and slaughter of Jews from fall 1939[2] now are beating their breasts about some civil strife in chronically strife-ridden Numidia that their assets have stirred, so inspired were they by tweets and Facebook whose creator is on his way to being knighted for his services to HRH & Co. As for Muammar it is as with Mubarak (if not as with Milosevic), “Thank you and goodbye!”[3] But not goodbye just yet; consider the benefits accrued from this protracted conflict: world markets are back on the roller coaster, where the biggest sharks prosper by snapping up bargains, and Humpty is tottering on the wall. When the eggs break not only does the global omelet sizzle closer to completion but the erasure of private savings and homes allow the powerful to scoop up the scattered wealth. Essential to maintenance of the fraud and pillage, the target audience is further conditioned to the idea of intervention, under the suzerainty of a President of world peace for humanitarian reasons, of course; after all, he won the Nobel Peace Prize as did Yasser Arafat and his companion Mr. Peres. Some tyrants must be held accountable, the process of selection depends on the pace of progress toward the socialist world collective in which nations and national armies will be obsolete and the bad guys are identified by Humpty Dumpty: “world collectivism is the only alternative to chaos and degeneration.[4] Wealthy puppets and aspiring ‘reporters’ who are ‘at the scene’ where ‘the facts’ are aver that the man responsible for Pan Am 103 must be punished. Well and good: why did not the great Reagan punish him in 1988? Why did not Bush the elder punish him during his incumbency or the humanitarian Clinton do so during his tenure as actor-in-chief? Could it be that the titular head of State neither formulates nor directs but only announces policy as a spokesman for the NSC? The Carney barker rivets the attention of those who think the person for whom they vote ‘runs the country.’ Because the oligarchy knows that Americans must be conditioned to having their affections and expectations ground into the dust schools must be degraded and families broken; the middle class vitiated. Then a stupefied, impoverished and nervous mass, “the negative mass of mankind” dumbed down the generations of hi-technology that succeed each other like fruit flies have been sufficiently addled to accept, because truth is what you think it is, the fact that NATO is bombing Libya to save “the Libyan people” from the brutal dictator kept in power by Western and Russian means for four decades and used as part of the Cold War and its War on Terror successor process. The audience to the Hierarchy’s show is ready for “group at-one-ment” in this “age of synthesis and light, a “group endeavor” in the worst way of image masters[5] and dazzled, distracted subjects of the machine. In April 1999, his serene ecumenical envoy-ship, then PM, Tony Blair announced at NATO’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations in ‘our’ nation’s capital that “the new NATO” had a new raison d’être: “humanitarian intervention” to protect ‘human rights,’ more or less, and to protect some people from their governments when our distinguished ‘leaders’ and their closeted controllers decide that a demonstration of imperial compassion is needed for financial, strategic, instructive or psychological reasons. One should never discount the value of such operations as forces of distraction, intimidation, degradation and entertainment. The right honorable Special Envoy of “the Quartet,” Mr. Blair’s announcement heralded the last stage in NATO’s vilification of and war on the Serbs. Assembled from the rubble of the Austrian and Ottoman Empires, Yugoslavia was dismantled as part of transitioning from the ‘Cold War’ to ‘the War on Terror.’ Separatist provinces prompted by Germany and blessed from the Eternal City led to bombing the Serbs (a nation must not defend its boundaries) and three new Islamic states formed in the Balkans, scarcely a century after the southern Slavs had pushed the Turks out of all but a small blob of territory around Byzantium (Istanbul). That was a dirty piece of business and a nifty complement to the expansion of NATO to enfold nations that had enjoyed centuries of Russian domination. The heads of Russia may fume at times but they are well paid, in coin, kind, Super Bowl rings[6] (the ring of power?) and other influence and, in any case, the entire farce proceeds toward that “socialist world collective” in which H.G. Wells, Lionel Curtiss, Marx and the thinly smiling lords of Wall Street and the City sing the merits of sustainable technologies, population control and “equal protection” for favored groups, i.e. groups whose privileges help expand the oligarchy’s hegemony over the minds, words and wealth of the human inventory that they wish to manage with increasing efficiency. What was practiced in Yugoslavia and now in the outer crescent is part of the ongoing humanitarian onslaught of the powers against Israel. Already pseudo-states have recognized the “non-nation” nurtured by the Quartet to possess and deform the Promised Land. It is a “peace process” that requires the slaughter in their beds of Jewish families; but such news is far less important than endless chatter about the ‘rebels’ in Libya. The spontaneous uprisings across northern Africa and the Middle East practice the management techniques of the late, imperial phase of cultures that have petrified into “toying with myths [and] tasting cults… to fill the inner void” that attends an age of materialism,[7] cynicism and the displacement of life by imagery. In these “wars of the age of world peace more fearful than any State wars because they are formless,” undeclared, multi-national and, above all, “humanitarian” the international managerial class toys with ownership of the whole world: “continents will be staked, India, China, Russia, South Africa, Islam” will be waged and deployed as “new techniques and tactics are played and counter-played” while the human inventory is exposed to increasingly refined forms of “mind-training” like ‘focus groups.’ The entire populace is a focus group in which most “think, will and act as a ruling personality somewhere thinks fit.”[8] What Spengler did not foresee was the degree to which the technicians and finance would merge with military, diplomacy (the most highly developed form of lying)[9] and ‘intelligence’ to direct this game. One needs to understand that these cadres have formulated, are and have been deploying a new religion called “humanitarianism” whose primary purpose is myriad forms of punishment.[10] Just as predicted, the notions of “just” and “unjust” have become arbitrary, the inevitable result of the cult of relativism that creates a façade of antinomian freedom while the Therapeutic State builds an edifice of diktats that exercise domestic versions of humanitarian intervention. As there, so here; it’s a seamless garment of punitive hypocrisy, control and extraction: the dead consume the living; the generic displaces the human; the image dominates life and pre-empts thought. The masters would like us to think it’s all an illusion; but though filled with fakery, the nightmare is depressingly real. The petrifaction of Culture is not pleasant to endure. An influential policy group urged that “new religions or mythologies” help maintain “the non-military functions of the war system.”[11] Humanitarian interventions, international and within States play a key role in “the reorganization of the world [for] outright world socialism, scientifically planned” that will “at first be mainly the work of a ‘movement,’ [e.g. ‘Change you can believe in’] or a Party or a religion or cult.”[12] Given space, one might explain how the media presentation of the major parties’ dialectic has entrancing or cultic aspects more powerful because less quirky than statements about “the positive agency of the Hierarchy… the seeds” of “the astral plane of the coming civilization.”[13] This is part of the decadent “glamour” or dazzle that theosophists actually preach and that exemplify what Spengler means by the end of Culture in petrifaction and dominance of the media image that manages free thought when it has become a slogan and, thus a tautology. As in the current humanitarian intervention by yet another ‘coalition of the willing,’ “an ad hoc disarmament police with its main strength in the air” will help “a world struggling through federation to collective unity” by “close cooperation” in “various world police activities.”[14] A quarter century after Wells wrote his summa of collectivism, the group at Iron Mountain called for “an omnipresent, virtually omnipotent police force”[15] such as has been deployed at various ‘trouble spots’ to combat “alternate fictitious enemies” on this troubled and rapidly gelling fair earth. Often the real enemies are like allies jump-started by the global Terror-Security team. Winston Churchill urged a similar security apparatus, “an international armed force [and] air squadrons for the world organization” in his ‘Iron Curtain’ speech urging and shaming America to join the British Commonwealth, Russia et al in working under the United Nations Charter.[16] Footnotes: 1. Blessed is he who owns his home outright, has some arable land with woods nearby in a small town out of the way of the mainstream of progress. “Only where the State ends, there begins the human being who is not superfluous.”[17] Are the ‘rebel’s’ outside or inside its orbit? Are they a de facto or de jure part of “the police force,” helping to justify its humane endeavors?
