'Thousands of protesters took to the streets across Iraq on March 4, defying a curfew and repression to demand democracy and economic justice, the March 5 Los Angeles Times said.
The protests followed the February 25 "Day of Rage", in which demonstrations occurred in at least 17 separate cities and towns. At least nine protestors were killed by security forces, the February 26 Sydney Morning Herald said.
During the "Day of Rage", soldiers guarding the bridge to Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone were pelted with shoes. The Green Zone is home to Iraq’s official government and the real source of power in the country: the US embassy and the main US military base.'

'We’ve all seen them in newspapers and magazines, on TV and the Internet -- cheerful people in glossy, picturesque ads claiming that by taking a little magic prescription pill their lives were immeasurably improved.
As the TV ad fades, a cautionary voice quietly recites a host of “risk factors,” potentially catastrophic consequences that could result from taking the magical pill. One can’t but wonder if the cure is worse than the ailment.
A well-known ad features Dr. Robert Jarvik, a pioneer in the development of the artificial heart, pitching Pfizer’s cholesterol drug Lipitor. He comes across as a trusted expert with your best interest at heart, but viewers would not know that he is neither a cardiologist, nor licensed to practice medicine. (Lipitor’s 2009 sales were $5.4 billion.)'

'Shaken by the prospect of nuclear meltdown after a devastating earthquake and tsunami, Japanese investors will dump overseas assets on Monday and bring their money home to help finance reconstruction.
Positioning for this could send the dollar plummeting versus the yen on Monday and lead to a sharp slide in Treasuries since U.S. government bonds are a favorite asset of Japanese investors, market analysts said. Stocks also are likely to come under pressure.'

'Moderate GOP Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) warned of a nefarious plot to blow up jet liners using carry-on laptop bombs. Gohmert learned of the plot, he explained to Fox News' Fox and Friends host Gretchen Carlson, while flying from DC to Texas.
"This engineer from IBM was telling me that he there was enough highly reactive lithium in his laptop battery to destroy 25 747s- the only thing stopping most people was that a lack of education. Anyone with a basic knowledge of organic chemistry is a potential terrorists- and the worst part is that they teach organic chemistry at elite liberal college- or madrasas as the terrorists call them."

'Though Treasury likes to gloat about TARP funds having been paid back by the big banks, the banks have received a back-door bailout, of almost exactly the same size, that will never be paid back. Almost no one talks about it, and no one in government is even keeping track of it.
Out of the total $700B TARP bailout, approximately $205B were disbursed to the banks through the Capital Purchase Program (CPP). Of that $205B, roughly $150B has actually been paid back. One of the dirty secrets of the bailout, though, is that Treasury and the Federal Reserve found a way to give the banks money without any approval or oversight from Congress or anyone else.'

Welcome to the Orwellian world of the Obama administration

Bradley Manning before and after torture in 'free America' and his alleged part in the release of the Wikileaks documents that exposed the lies and corruption of world governments, most notably that of the US.
'US state department spokesman PJ Crowley has resigned after calling the treatment of the man accused of leaking secret cables to Wikileaks "stupid". He said he was taking responsibility for the impact of his remarks about Bradley Manning. Private Manning is being held in solitary confinement at a maximum security US military jail. He has been on suicide watch at the Quantico marine base in Virginia and is shackled at all times. He faces 34 charges relating to the leaking of 720,000 diplomatic and military documents.'
Obama, the idiot yessir puppet, says he has received assurances that the terms of Manning's confinement are 'appropriate'.
Oh really, Barry Soetoro, alias Barack Obama, the fake 'President' of the United States? This is 'approriate' is it?
'Manning is classed as a "maximum custody" detainee, despite having no history of violence or disciplinary offences in custody. This means he is shackled at the hands and legs during all visits and denied opportunities to work, which would allow him to leave his cell. Manning is also detained under a Prevention of Injury (POI) assignment, despite a recommendation from his official military psychiatrist that this is not necessary. Detainees with POI status are subjected to extra restrictions such as checks by guards every five minutes and bars on daytime sleeping. There have been no formal reasons given for Manning's maximum custody and POI status, yet his lawyers' attempts to challenge the restrictions have been ignored by the authorities.'

'I am not talking to you until you apologise for saying that you are a bigger fraud than me.'
Who is saying this? Both of them.

The cross-party ‘People’s Pledge’ campaign aims to pile pressure on party leaders and MPs to support a poll that would settle the divisive question of EU membership once and for all.
