March 24 (Bloomberg) — Top Republicans in Congress questioned the purpose and goals of U.S. military intervention in Libya and complained that lawmakers weren’t consulted before President Barack Obama decided that America would join the international combat mission. House Speaker John Boehner sought an explanation of what he termed a “contradiction” between Obama’s stated goal of regime change in Libya and the limitation of the United Nations- sanctioned attack to curbing the ability of Muammar Qaddafi’s forces to attack civilians. Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, yesterday called for congressional hearings on the mission as U.S. and allied warplanes continued to strike Qaddafi’s ground forces. By Sultan Knish It was Hegel who said that history repeats itself because nations and governments fail to learn from it, but it was Karl Marx who added that history repeats itself a second time as farce. Which makes it all too appropriate that Obama is repeating the Bush era as farce. For years American liberals accused George W. Bush of being dumb and unserious– only to elect a man who actually is dumb and unserious. Who announces a war in between his NCAA picks and a trip to Rio. Who has spent more time playing golf, than directing the war effort. Who spends more time in front of the mirror and the camera, than on policy. They accused Bush of running an imperial presidency– and that is exactly what they got the second time around. A war without even the thinnest facade of congressional involvement. Without Dick Cheney being anywhere in sight. They accused Bush of having a Nazi collaborating grandfather, and their own grass roots efforts to elect... by Robert Spencer, FrontPageMag On a day when Islamic jihadists exploded a bomb in Jerusalem that murdered at least one woman and wounded thirty, and when Islamic jihadists opened fire on and killed two Christians outside a church in Pakistan, Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) announced that he was going to hold hearings on the rise in “anti-Muslim bigotry.” Durbin, of course, was retaliating for the hearings recently conducted by Rep. Peter King (R-NY), who himself bowed to politically correct pressure and dropped several witnesses that he had originally announced his intention to call, including ex-Muslim human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali and terror analyst Walid Phares. T. Belman. One of the reasons we don’t really know the truth about Libya is because everyone is lying and spinning the story. Today I received two emails from Russian sources which tell a very different story. You can decide on what is true. Libya and disinformation Slip in covert operationals under cover of night, spark off an incident somehow, send in the mainstream media to spread the lies far and wide, start a bombing campaign to protect “unarmed” civilians and then help the suddenly heavily armed “civilians” to sweep to power. Then the oil companies move in…oh! And what about Libya’s gold reserves? We have been over the Libya story again and again and with every day that passes, new information arises, such as the planned homage to be paid to Colonel Muammar Al-Qathafi later this month by the UNO for his excellent humanitarian record, tolerance of minorities, religious tolerance and... By Ted Belman I say this after I being dissappointed with her performance in India arguing her speech wasn’t polished and her answers to questions were not articulate. In this interview, Palin articulated many of the policies and principles that would guide her presidency. The Palin Doctrine, if you will. What surprised me was how informed she was on the issues in Libya, given the fact that she has been very busy with her trip to India and Israel. On the peace process, she said that the US should pressure the Palestinians instead of Israel and shouldn’t tell Israel where she can...Top U.S. Republicans Question Purpose of Libya Military Mission

Senate to Hold Hearings on “Anti-Muslim Bigotry”
Not only was the timing of Durbin’s announcement ironic, but also the fact that his retaliatory hearings were unnecessary in the first place. King, after all, gave a prime platform at his hearings to the weepy Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), whose pilgrimage to Mecca was paid for with $13,350 from the Muslim...Politicians and media have been lying about Libya

Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey, Pravda.RuTHE PALIN DOCTRINE
Greta van Susteren interviewed Sarah Palin yesterday following her return from India and Israel but before her speech in Naples. Greta grilled her on Obama’s policies on Libya, Israel and Obamacare. Greta was relentless and Palin handled everthing Greta threw at her. Palin didn’t duck and weave. She was firm and decisive and articulate. She took Greta on in many issues and dominated her.
