Jewish vs. Muslim Nobel Laureates

by Bill Levinson

Militant “Islam,” which begins by stripping half of its population (the female half) of its humanity, continues by discouraging freedom of scientific inquiry and rational thought. The result is that a population upward of a billion Muslims has earned a total of seven legitimate Nobel Prizes: we dismiss as illegitimate the Peace Prizes given to mass murderer Yasser Arafat and also to Anwar Sadat, whose only achievement was to negotiate a peace settlement after losing a war to a country he attacked. (Compare to Theodore Roosevelt, who helped mediate a conflict to which the United States was not a party.)

In addition, Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi was actually persecuted by her Muslim-majority country (Iran) for the kind of activities that earned her the Nobel Peace Prize.

The world’s population of perhaps 15 million Jews has meanwhile earned something like 160 Nobel Prizes, even discounting the Peace Prize given to Menachem Begin who merely negotiated a...

Yishai calls for wide scale operation in Gaza

YNET

Interior Minister Eli Yishai called for the launch of a wide scale operation in Gaza. “We need to make an effort to go in and act in a less conventional and more severe manner,” he said.

“I’m not saying this needs to be ‘Cast Lead 2′, a ground operation is completely unnecessary. But from an aerial perspective, we need to hit bases, crossings, roads and infrastructure and any capabilities they have to hit the south.” (Ronen Medzini)

US Black student leaders slam ‘apartheid’ characterization

Letter says “decency, justice and hope compel us to demand immediate cessation to deliberate misappropriation of words.”
NEW YORK – African-American student leaders from a variety of historically black colleges and universities took out full page ads in numerous American college newspapers Thursday, displaying an “Open Letter to Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP),” to convey that they were offended by SJP’s use of the term “apartheid” at recent Israel Apartheid Week events at campuses across the country.

The 16 signatories to the letter are students and alumni from historically black colleges and universities who are members of the Vanguard Leadership Group, a leadership development academy and honor society for top students. The letter ran or is slated to run in student newspapers at Brown University, University of California- Los Angeles, University of Maryland and Columbia University over the next few days.

Challenging the Leftist Domination of the Jewish Community

Change is in the air. From the toppling of Middle East potentates to the Tea Party’s dramatic rise to the recent historic public employee union legislation enacted across the Midwest, things suddenly seem to be turned on their heads. And from the unlikely location of central Indiana a new model has arisen for Jews whose unequivocal support for Israel and America has hitherto been marginalized.

The Establishment of JAACI

With the withdrawal of B’nai Torah’s JCRC membership, the long smoldering fire of pent-up frustration quickly ignited and spread to other congregations, community organizations, and individuals not only in Indianapolis, but throughout Jewish communities in Indiana. B’nai Torah’s last representative on the JCRC, Elliot Bartky, spoke with a broad segment of the Jewish community around the state who shared B’nai Torah’s frustration and were convinced of the need to...

The repercussions of a UN recognition of Palestine

By Ted Belman

The PA has been hard at work of late lining up votes in the UNGA for the recognition of the state of Palestine with pre ’67 borders with the eastern part of Jerusalem as its capital.

They intend to use the “Uniting for Peace” procedure to avoid a possible UNSC veto regardless of whether the procedure is legal. (See; The UN Charter Cannot Support GA Resolution 377). Were they to get such recognition the repercussions would be significant.

Alan Baker, who was legal counsel for Israel in the drafting of the Oslo Accords and is currently associated with the Jerusalem Center of Public Affairs, recently published The Palestinian UN Gamble – Irresponsible and Ill-Advised. He summarized his article as follows

“While such a resolution would not have the authority to alter the legal status of the territories, the negative consequences of such a course of action would nevertheless serve to void the very basis of the peace process. It would undermine the legal...

The case for retaking Gaza

By Ted Belman

The diplomatic chapter of the coalition agreement asserts that “the government will work determinedly and regularly against terror groups threatening Israel and do everything needed in order to eradicate them. A strategic target for the State of Israel would be the toppling of Hamas’ rule in Gaza.”

FM Leiberman intends to demand it. I think it should be done now.

    1. The arms build up in Gaza both in quantity and sophistication, continues night and day, by land and sea without let up.

    2. By doing nothing Israel is playing Russian Roulette. One of these days, a rocket of missile will hit a group of Israelis.

    3. The ME is in turmoil today with people all over being killed ruthlessly. That will give Israel some cover to do what it has to do.

    4. NATO is occupied in Libya and the EU is showing themselves to be hopelessly inept and divided.

    5. Obama is fighting for his political life.

    6. Sooner of later, there will be war. We should start the war...

Jews in Judea, Samaria Get Their Guns Back

Following a series of meetings in the Knesset’s Internal Affairs Committee, police have agreed to reconsider hundreds of weapons confiscations involving Israelis living in Judea and Samaria. Many of those whose guns were taken have reported that they were returned.

While most Israelis are not allowed to own a personal gun, an exception has traditionally been made for Jews living in Judea and Samaria due to the frequent terrorist attacks in the region. However, in 2007 the IDF began an operation to confiscate weapons and “put gun permits in order.”

Jews living in the region, and their supporters in Knesset, accused Defense Minister Ehud Barak of “making the settlers fair game” by leaving them unarmed.

Tension over gun permits reached a boiling point with the murder of four Jews near Beit Chaggai in 2010. One of the victims, Yitzchak Imas, had owned a gun, but his gun was confiscated just weeks before the attack that killed him, his wife, and...

Gaza Update

By Ted Belman

Both sides say open to truce. Probably Hamas started their rocket barrage hoping to get a truce which would include Israel’s assassination of their leadership and operatives worldwide. There should be no truce that doesn’t include a ceasation of smuggling.

Palestinian militants launch approximately 120 rockets and mortars at Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip over the weekend; 19 Palestinians killed in IAF retaliatory attacks.

Lieberman wants to topple Hamas

Yisrael Beiteinu to demand that toppling of Hamas rule in Gaza be designated a ‘strategic target’

Tough stance: The Yisrael Beiteinu party intends to demand that the ruling Likud party apply clause 11 in the coalition agreement, designating the toppling of Hamas’ rule in the Gaza Strip as a strategic Israeli target.

The issue is expected to be raised in Yisrael Beiteinu’s conference, to be held Wednesday. The party’s chairman, Foreign Minister Avigdor...
