Obama is an embarrassment to the nation

Hamas escalates

Haaretz

Two people were wounded Thursday after an anti-tank missile exploded into a bus traveling in one of the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip.

Following the attack, 16 additional mortar shells were fired at Israeli towns in the western Negev, most of them hitting open areas.

Magen David Adom crew who arrived at the scene said that a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded as a result of the attack, and that the bus driver was moderately hurt by shrapnel wounds in his leg.

“The boy was lying on the ground bleeding. The bus driver was conscious and hysterical. The entire bus destroyed – it was a horrifying sight,” said a member of the rescue service.

MDA said that the rescue services resuscitated the boy and later transferred him to the hospital. MDA also said the bus was nearly empty after dropping off school children and was carrying only the driver and the 16-year-old boy at the time of the attack.

Residents of communities near the site of attack were...

Obama Visits Anti-Semitic Hate Group

Barack Obama appears at hate group that inspired arson and murder at a Jewish-owned store
by Bill Levinson

New Tone? President Obama Kisses Sharpton’s Ring reports,

President Obama, embroiled in a furious battle over the federal budget, swept into New York last night for a star-studded celebration of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and gave the beaming civil-rights leader a rousing slap on the back.

Let’s review the background of Al Sharpton and the National Action Network: the same racist and anti-Semitic hate group that inspired a deranged individual to set fire to a Jewish-owned store and kill seven of its employees.

Per “Democrats Embrace ‘Impresario of Hatred’ by Fred Siegel” (Wall Street Journal, no longer online)

It would have taken no great effort for the reporters covering the Apollo debate to have walked across 125th Street from the theater to visit Freddy’s Fashion Mart, where in 1995 eight...

Reform Movement Condemns Ryan 2012 Budget Proposal

Pelavin:

“Congressman Ryan’s budget resolution prioritizes the wealthy over the needy, and, therefore, does not reflect the values to which we aspire as Reform Jews and as Americans.”

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 5, 2011 — In response to the introduction of a 2012 budget resolution by House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Mark J. Pelavin, Associate Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism issued the following statement:

The moral impact of a budget is measured by its effect on the person most in need. House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) 2012 budget resolution fails on this count. By ending entitlement status for Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and by privatizing Medicare, Congressman Ryan’s proposal, if adopted, would fundamentally and unjustly restructure our commitment to seniors and low-income families. By extending additional tax breaks to wealthy individuals and corporations, it would...

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Whose side are we on?

Nadia Matar reports

Outrageous Action in Sussya

Women for Israel’s Tomorrow (Women in Green) and Garin Netzer
protest strongly against the outrageous action performed this morning by the Civil Administration in Sussya when they destroyed Moishele Deutsh’s fields and uprooted 3300 five year old trees.

Anyone who searches the internet and reads about the different anti-Israeli organizations, like JAI, who help the Arabs , understands that a war on the land is being waged by the Arabs– a tree intifada. The Arabs understand that the battle will be won on the land and not on meaningless papers of “peace”.

We call upon the Civil Administration to return to its original purpose: safeguarding the land of Israel and preventing the Arabs from taking over.

Goldstone to face libel suit

YNET

Judge Richard Goldstone is expected to stand trial for libel following his retraction of his Operation Cast Lead report, in which he accused Israel of war crimes.

Knesset Member Danny Danon (Likud), currently in the United States, has enlisted the help of a number of Jewish-American attorneys who agreed to file a lawsuit against the South African judge at no charge.

A petition will be filed with a New York District Court next week, in which the plaintiffs will demand a formal apology and a symbolic financial compensation for the State of Israel. A second lawsuit may be filed in an Israeli court if Goldstone arrives in Israel.

Minimize the damage

The decision to file the lawsuit is a direct response to the judge’s op-ed in the Washington Post in which he claimed his report caused significant damage to the State of Israel in the United Nations and internationally.

Despite his retraction, Goldstone announced...

Haaretz advocates capitulation

Peres’ peace push in Washington is hopeless

Netanyahu sees the conflict with the Palestinians as a public relations problem and refuses to pursue any Israeli political initiatives. He believes that if he can just manage to convince “the world” that the Palestinians are to blame for the stalled peace talks, he will have done his job.

In recent days, President Shimon Peres has been busy defending the domestic and international stature of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. At home, Peres helped Netanyahu stave off criticism over his indulgent flights abroad; and on Tuesday, Peres traveled to Washington to present Netanyahu’s positions to U.S. President Barack Obama.

The reports from the White House were not surprising: Obama praised Peres, while offering recycled cliches about the opportunity for peace. The reports that came out of Israel at the same time, about the construction of hundreds of apartments in Jerusalem beyond the...

Shin Bet: We uncovered Hamas terror ring in Jerusalem-area

The Shin Bet announced Thursday that a group of five Hamas militants, planning terror attacks in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas, was arrested. The arrests had previously been under a gag order.

The group has allegedly been operating since Operation Cast Lead, the Israel Defense Forces operation that took place in the Gaza Strip in the winter of 2008-2009.

One of the group members was arrested in February, prompting another member to attempt to dispose a bomb they had created for a planned bombing in the contested Jerusalem Gilo neighborhood.

According to a Shin Bet report, the cell was preparing to carry out a shooting attack similar to that which took place in the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where 8 students were murdered.

For that purpose, the Shin Bet says, a known Gaza Hamas operative, transferred 10,000 Jordanian Dinar to cell member Jihad Atun through money exchangers in Jordan and Jerusalem, promising another 20,000 in a later date.

A Revolting Middle East Policy

Daniel Greenfield

In the last three months we played a role in overthrowing nearly every Middle Eastern government we were allied with– that wasn’t supporting terrorism.

We pushed out Ben Ali in Tunisia, but let the Saudis move tanks into Bahrain. Egypt’s Mubarak was a monster who had to go, but Syria’s Assad is a reformer. Now Yemen’s Saleh who let us hunt terrorists in his country is on our hit list, but the Qatari royal family which is linked to Al-Qaeda and finances Al-Jazeera are our best friends. Gaddafi who cut a deal to give up his nukes got bombed, Iran which is pushing hard for a nuclear bomb has clear skies.

Middle Eastern leaders who support and finance terrorists got a pass, but our own allies in the War on Terror got creamed. Iran, Syria and the Gulf Arab states who are responsible for most of the terrorism against us have nothing to worry about. Saleh and Mubarak who aided the War on Terror got shown the door.

Want good relations...

Ashton Needs To Stay Out Of Israel’s Business

Laura: Ms. Ashton; decapitating Jewish babies, slaughtering Jewish families and calling for the genocide of Jews is the obstacle to peace, not the expansion of Jewish apartment buildings.  This woman certainly has a perverse outlook of the Middle East situation. As for the status of Jerusalem, this has already long been resolved. It will remain the undivided capital of the Jewish state.  As for your being disappointed over the building of Jewish apartments, too damn bad.

EU foreign minister says she is “disappointed” in Israel for approving “illegal” construction in east Jerusalem.

EU Foreign Affairs Representative Catherine Ashton said on Wednesday that she is “disappointed” by the expansion of Gilo.

“I am deeply disappointed by the approval of 942 new housing units in the Israeli settlement of Gilo,” Ashton said. “The EU is also...
