Special Dispatch No. 3865Palestinians

Mahmoud Abbas Advisor: In a Just World, the Same Measures Would Be Taken against Israel as Are Now Being Taken against Al-Qadhafi

In an op-ed in the Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sabri Sidam, advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for IT and communications and Fatah Revolutionary Council deputy chairman, stated that in a just world, the Arab and international communities would take steps against Israel similar to those currently being taken against Libyan ruler Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi. These steps, he said, would include a U.N. Security Council-declared no-fly zone over Israel to prevent its air strikes against Gaza; International Criminal Court-issued arrest warrants against "Israeli war criminals" and Interpol pursuit of these individuals; mobilization of ground, air, and naval forces in preparation for a military strike against Israel; and calls by world leaders for Israel's government to step down.

Following are excerpts from an interview with President of Yemen Ali Abdallah Saleh, which aired on Russia Today TV on April 28, 2011:

2936.JPG

Ali Abdallah Saleh: "Qatar is financing anarchy in Yemen, Egypt, Syria, and the entire Arab nation. They have a lot of money and a tiny population, and they don't know what to do with all their money. They want to become a regional superpower, by means of Al-Jazeera TV. You may have heard that several Al-Jazeera presenters resigned, because Al-Jazeera has become an unprofessional and irresponsible channel. The management of Al-Jazeera is provocative toward the entire Arab nation, and even toward several European countries. It has ulterior motives."
