Dear Daily Reckoning Reader,
As you surely know by now, Navy SEALs landed from stealthy helicopters, kicked down the doors and shot him in the head.
Later, other Navy guys tossed the corpse into the deep, blue sea - after a more respectful funeral than your typical, run of the mill mass-murderer deserves.
It's all so Shakespearean. "Full fathom five," and all that. And a nice Navy touch at the end, wouldn't you say?
But the jury is still out on the long-term implications of the demise of Mr. Osama Bin Laden, late of Abbottabad, Pakistan.
On the one hand, Bin Laden was supposed to be the strategic brain behind Al Qaeda, a self-appointed generalissimo orchestrating his grand struggle like a brilliant concert-master of terror.
On the other hand, we're seeing captured video of a stooped-over, doddering old guy - old far beyond his 54 years - preening in front of a television set.
What was really going on, behind those walls, just down the road from Pakistan's equivalent of West Point?
Was Bin Laden, perhaps, kept in his gilded cage - like a pet, really - by Pakistani masters? Until, that is, he was worth more dead than alive?
Whatever was going on, we'll likely never know the whole truth.
Still, with or without the late, deceased Bin Laden, the problems of the Middle East are ongoing.
In fact, there's a crisis that's actually larger in scope than the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It could more than double the price of oil in 2011.
That would put a barrel of oil over $220 by the end of this year. Are you ready for that possibility? Are you really and truly prepared?
I urge you to watch this briefing right now. If you're prepared, this can help you withstand what's coming.
But if you're in the dark? Well, why be in the dark?
This is your chance. You need to see this now.
Move quickly. The clock is ticking.
Sincerely,
Byron King
