A few days back, Orthodox Jews were removed from flight ...no, wait -- it was imams, so the story takes a decidedly different turn. Two imams were escorted off a plane in Tennessee enroute to an "islamophobia" conference, no less, and the media (which jokes about these Jewish incidents) is blown-back, and the Muslim Brotherhood groups (ie CAIR) are preparing for litigation warfare and a public relations blitz. Oh yes, CAIR is going to give all of America "sensitivity" lessons (while pushing for a Ground Zero mosque on hallowed ground). As for these imams, there is more to the story, particularly fresh off the OBL kill. If six-year-old girls can get sexually groped by the TSA, fully garbed imams can be inconvenienced as well. I strongly recommend readers write letters of support for the pilot to Delta. Email them or call 1-404-773-0305. "Captain Backs Pilot Who Kicked Muslims Off Plane," from WSOCTV.com, May 9: hat tip Robert Lawyers for Masudur Rahman and Mohamed Zaghloul said the imams were pulled off a plane in Memphis before it headed to Charlotte Friday. The lawyers said the pilot refused to fly with them on board. He said the men passed multiple security clearances before boarding a Delta connection flight operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines. The imams said they were victims of racial profiling. On Sunday, Capt. James Ray, who represents the pilot’s union for U.S. Airways, said it’s highly unlikely the pilot asked them to leave for that reason. "I can promise you the captain didn't throw those people off because of the way they were dressed. There's more to the story,” Ray said. The imams said the pilot told them the passengers were uncomfortable, but no passengers spoke up. Ray said ultimately, it’s the captain’s call. “The captain operates in an environment that's always changing. It's dynamic. You can't fly an airplane by committee,” he said. [...] The imams were headed to Charlotte for a weekend conference on "islamophobia" - the fear of Islam. They were put on another flight and arrived a few hours later. Atlantic Southeast Airlines released a statement and said it apologizes for any inconvenience but it takes security very seriously. The imam's attorney said his office plans to launch an investigation into the incident. If it turns out the pilot was not justified in putting the imams off the plane, his office will sue for negligence and a violation of civil rights. Muslim Leaders Address "Islamophobia" The annual conference in Charlotte was scheduled before Friday's incident and before the death of Osama bin Laden. Conference organizers said the timing could not have been more coincidental.... The BBC's take on the Sheepshead Bay super-mosque. Interesting that they fail to identify Dabah Almontaser as the "intifada NYC" principal who was forced to resign from KGIA, the failed NY public school madrassa. The BBC frames it as a "religious liberty" issue, when in fact it is no such thing. Protesters who want to stop the construction of a mosque in Brooklyn's Sheepshead Bay are bringing their case to court on Tuesday, the latest in a series of such disputes across America. The nation founded on the principle of freedom of religious worship is seeing disputes from Tennessee to New York's Staten Island, as Muslims wishing to build places of worship run into opposition - almost 10 years after the 9/11 attacks. The most high profile case was the Islamic centre to be built close to Ground Zero in Manhattan - now it's the turn of what critics call the Brooklyn "mega-mosque". Opponents of the Sheepshead Bay development - who include blogger Pamela Geller, an influential critic of Islam - say it will dramatically alter the quality of life in a quiet, residential neighbourhood. Traffic, parking difficulties and the noise of the call to prayer will be disruptive, says the group suing to stop the construction, called Bay People. "The neighbourhood residents are mostly of Italian/Russian/Jewish/Irish descent and will not benefit from having a mosque and a Muslim community centre," the Bay People website states. But others accuse the group of a thinly-veiled anti-Muslim agenda. "They are using traffic and noise as this smokescreen for their bigoted agenda against the Muslim community establishing a mosque in Sheepshead Bay," says Debbie Almontaser of the Muslim Consultative Network, a group advising Sheepshead Bay Muslims. Ill-feeling has been further stirred by the death of Osama Bin Laden. While the Obama administration has taken pains to assert that Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader and that America's war is "not against Islam", a number of public expressions of anti-Muslim sentiment have since occurred around the US. Almontaser says that since Bin Laden's killing, the walls of the Sheepshead Bay property have been vandalised with graffiti that says "He is dead". Meanwhile, Geller, who writes the blog Atlas Shrugs, takes issue with the Muslim American Society, a group backing the mosque's construction. "It's a proxy of the Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist organisation," she says. "They're violating building codes, yet the city, and government officials are in the tank on these issues, it's political correctness. They're trying to establish a rabat, a beachhead, in a small residential neighbourhood." Bay People cites parking concerns as a major objection - yet Debbie Almontaser says the 200 families who will use the mosque live within walking distance of it, and won't be driving. The mosque's developer has said the call to prayer will not be broadcast, out of sensitivity to the non-Muslims in the area. The protesters are keeping a close eye on the construction, which has resulted in one "stop-work order" when city inspectors found a violation of building rules. The question is whether a court case based on claims that the mosque and community centre violate zoning laws can succeed in a nation where there's a constitutional right to freedom of religion. Ms Almontaser says Muslim Americans will stand up for those rights against what she calls a national epidemic stemming from Islamophobia. While local opponents of the Sheepshead Bay mosque state their opposition in terms of noise concerns, national critics of Islam see its construction as yet another encroachment by what they believe is a repressive ideology. Prostest at UCI on Wednesday. GO! PROTEST ISRAEL ANTI-APARTHEID WEEK Libya but not Syria? Egypt but not Iran? Whose side is Obama on? Tom Gross emails, "Incidentally, the situation in Syria is so bad - and the reporting on it is so lame (some BBC reports, for example, are bending over backward to give credence to the Assad regime) that I recommend you view the previous video dispatch here." Iran is calling the shots in Syria. MASSACRING THEIR OWN PEOPLE By Tom Gross April 26 This dispatch is a follow-up to my recent article on Syria. Because some in the international media are still not covering the six-week-old Syrian uprising properly, and indeed certain journalists are still taking Assad regime propaganda at face value, I attach four videos below. (As recently as yesterday, the correspondent for The New York Times, for example, was still referring to Bashar Assad as though he was some kind of moderate reformer who may have little or nothing to do with the current crackdown in Syria, much in the same way that for years other writers at The New York Times made excuses for Yasser Arafat, deluding themselves that Arafat had nothing to do with the terrorism which he was in fact initiating.) Bashar Assad, even more than his father, has formed an ever closer alliance with the regime in Tehran, hence U.S.President Obama’s reference yesterday to the role of Iranian advisors in the present massacre of Syrians. Israel is on high alert in case Assad and his partners in Tehran create a crisis in Lebanon or Gaza. We should not forget that the cause of the crisis that led to the 1967 Six-Day War was Syrian instability, and the willingness of Syria’s Alawite rulers to act against Israel in order to maintain their rule. Carrying out acts of terror is nothing new for the Assad family, of course. They have been aiding and abetting terrorism against Israelis, Lebanese, Kurds, Iraqis and others for decades. Al Jazeera is carrying interviews with witnesses in the city of Daraa, and in the Damascus suburb of Duma, saying that after Syrian security forces have shot unarmed demonstrators, they have then executed many of the injured, and shot anyone trying to help them. The authorities have turned off water and electricity in the area, so the injured can’t be treated properly in hospitals in any case. Meanwhile, Syria is still in line to become the newest member of the (cruelly misnamed) U.N. Human Rights Council when a vote takes place on May 20 at the UN General Assembly in New York. Be warned, this first video (filmed over the weekend) is one of the most graphic I have ever posted. (The other two videos after that are not nearly as gruesome. In particular I recommend watching the second video. There are some other notes after the three videos.) -- Tom Gross But but but but Obama say, Osama is "not a Muslim leader." Perhaps Obama wishes to inherit the mantle. Record sale of Osama posters in Pakistan Times of India. hat tip Jack ISLAMABAD: There has been a record sale of posters of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan after the al-Qaida leader was gunned down in a daring US commando raid May 2 in the country, a media report said on Tuesday. "We were all looking at our lives flash before our eyes," passengers on the flight after Rageh Almurisi tried to overtake the cocpit screaming "allahu akbar." Muslim goes jihad. Authorities scratching heads for motive. Of course, terrorism is not mentioned in the criminal complaint. In post 911 America, if a Muslim rushing the cockpit ululating and screaming allahu akbar is not terrorism, what is? The passengers were terrified. "I kept saying to myself: 'What's he doing? Does he have a bomb? Is he armed?'" passenger Angelina Marty said. Within moments Sunday, a flight attendant tackled Rageh Almurisi. Authorities do not yet have a motive. While authorities said that Almurisi, 28, of Vallejo, Calif., has no clear or known ties to terrorism, the incident underscored fears that extremists may try to mount attacks to retaliate for the death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden last week. Federal agents are investigating Almurisi's background. He was carrying a Yemeni passport and a California identification card, authorities said. Yemen, a nation at the southern tip of the Arabian peninsula, has been a focus of U.S. officials because one of the most active branches of al-Qaida operates in the remote part of the country. Almurisi went toward the cockpit door 30 minutes before the flight from Chicago was supposed to land on Sunday night, San Francisco airport police Sgt. Michael Rodriguez said. Almurisi was yelling unintelligibly as he brushed past a flight attendant. Marty, 35, recalled that she and other passengers on the plane were stunned when they saw Almurisi walking down the aisle. She said a woman in a row across from her who speaks Arabic translated that Almurisi said "God is Great!" in Arabic. Andrew Wai, another passenger, told KGO-TV on Monday that the wife of one of the men who took Almurisi down later said Almurisi was yelling "Allahu Akbar." "There was no question in everybody's mind that he was going to do something," Marty said. A male flight attendant tackled Almurisi, and other crew members and passengers, including a retired Secret Service agent and a retired San Mateo police officer, helped subdue him as he banged on the door, police said. The flight attendant put plastic handcuffs on him. "Everybody was fixated on him," Marty said. "You never think that something like that would happen in your life." Wai also said Almurisi appeared "fidgety" in his seat when he saw him on the way to the bathroom earlier in the flight. The Boeing 737 carrying 162 people landed safely at 9:10 p.m. Almurisi was placed into police custody, as some passengers cried. "Flight attendants were trying to soothe different passengers," Wai said. "We were all looking at our lives flash before our eyes." Federal authorities took Almurisi into custody Monday morning after he spent the night at the San Mateo County jail, said San Mateo County Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Guidotti. Almurisi was being held on suspicion of interfering with a flight crew, a federal offense, according to authorities. No one else was hurt and the airport continued operating normally with security levels unchanged, the officer said. There were two other mid-air disturbances on Sunday. A 34-year-old man from Illinois tried to open a plane door on a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Chicago. Investigators questioned him, but did not file charges. There was a security scare aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Detroit to San Diego, prompting it to land in Albuquerque, N.M. Authorities did not release any more details, except to say that "no suspicious devices" were found. No one was arrested. Here's an interesting shot from the Muslim streets of moderate Indonesia. Mind you, Obama was raised in Indonesia. From 1967 to 1971, he was an elementary school student in Jakarta, Indonesia. Barack Hussein Obama spent four of his crucial formative years, from the ages of six to ten, outside the United States, in the largest Muslim country in the world. The overtly covert — or is that covertly overt? — propaganda war against the West is being waged on all fronts, but no organization has done as much to spread hate, lies and incitement to violence as Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera is the leading terrorist propaganda organization in the world. Jihad murder mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki has praised Al-Jazeera, and several years ago one of its most prominent reporters was arrested on terror charges. Al-Jazeera also has for years been the recipient of numerous Al-Qaeda videos featuring bin Laden, Zawahiri, and American traitor Adam Gadahn. The Muslim Brotherhood organization, the Muslim Students Association in holding its annual Apartheid week on the UCI campus this week. Concerned Patriotic Americans are standing against the evil that is radical Islam. We have organized a protest for Wednesday and want a show of numbers to convey to these fascists that we are not intimidated by their lies (Taqqiya); their tactics (Jihad); or their laws (Sharia).
Please come and stand with us to show that in America, freedom of Speech goes for all. Equal Justice is the foundation of our Republic, not Social Justice. We are turning out in force on Wednesday, May 11 at 11:30. We will meet at Lee’s Sandwich Shop at the base of the foot bridge (in the shopping center) at 11:30. We will walk across in unison.
Please bring your American Flags and Israel Flags and any civilly worded signs. But please remember that civility is the rule of the day (at least on our side). Let them expose themselves with their bullying and intimidation tactics.OBAMA'S INCOHERENCE OR HYPOCRISY: SYRIA, THE MASSACRES
