Congress has recently been trying to negotiate a remedy for the government's massive, unsustainable debt. The most heated arguments involve the soaring price of fuel, but that is missing the forest for a tree. The Democrats propose raising taxes while the Republicans propose easing restrictions on off-shore drilling, but both remedies are like bandaids on a festering cancer. As I write this 2011 Memorial Day article, our President has just made an utter fool of himself (and embarrassed our country) while toasting – or, perhaps better said, attempting to toast – the Queen of England. Everyone stood and he began talking – and when “God Save the Queen,” the British National Anthem, began playing, he continued talking. “To the Queen…” he finally said, raising his glass. No one else moved – including the Queen. They were standing at attention for their country’s National Anthem......
