"ROBBED" RIGHTS

The UN, in 48, proposed a two-state solution, which means that it had
already recognized that the Jews had rights to land and nationhood
on that covered by the Mandate of Palestine. But, at the time, what
seemed to have been needed for peace was a compromise that
gave similar the Arabs parallel rights -- a proposal the Arabs rejected
and answered by war.
So, in this, where did Israel get those rights to the lands of the Mandate?
It did Not come from the UN's reading of the Bible. It came from the rights
given under the Mandate of Palestine. What happened to these rights
that were given by the League of Nations and picked up by the
successor UN?
IN ANY CASE, where then do the Arabs get to have the full rights to
the disputed lands of the Mandate held by Israel as a result of
defense in the 1967 War? Clearly, we now witness an arbitrary
US declaration of Arab rights to these territories that annul Israel's
since now Obama expects Israel to give them up or "buy" new rights
to portions of those lands in the territories by giving up, "swapping,"
lands already acknowledged as parts of Israel.
This is highway robbery of the rights of the Jewish people and Israel.
What Israel needs is a leader that knows this score, not one with
one foot in surrender as Netanyahu seems to have. It is obvious that
when the Arabs can destroy Israel, they will do so and Israel must
not give them that opportunity. Nor should Israel be content to accept
the false view that Israel has no rights to the West Bank (including to
Jerusalem), the Golan, and the Gaza territories, making Israel seem to
be the "robber" of Arab lands. Unfortunately, this seems to be the
current prevailing view of the world, thanks to Israeli government
blindness and incompetence. If this is allowed to proceed, it is Israel
that will be "robbed" of her rights and handicapped in fighting for
survival against unjust, implacable Arab aggression.
