SUICIDE BOMBING OF AFGHAN POLICE BUS

14 DEAD, MORE THAN 20 INJURED

Inconvenient truths:

1. The United States stupidly and cynically intervened in Afghanistan during the Carter and Reagan administrations--on the side of the worst Islamist/warlord scum on earth--in order to bleed and destroy the Soviet Union. The armed intervention, which began in an effort to trick the Soviets into invading Afghanistan in order to save a dying pseudo-socialist but at least staunchly secular regime, and was escalated by Reagan into the largest-ever covert operation in U.S. history, succeeded--and failed. The Afghan adventure gave Moscow its own Vietnam, as planned by Carter's crackpot, Polish-born National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski. But the "stirred up Moslems" empowered and unleashed by the war, to use Brzezinski's damning term for the U.S.-backed jihadists, went on to wage their own war--in the name of radical Islam--against the United States and its allies and the Western and civilized worlds in general.

2. The U.S. should have responded to 9/11--the worst-ever attacks on U.S. soil--by formally declaring war on Afghanistan, and obliterating Al Qaeda and the Taliban, using any and all weapons necessary, including tactical nuclear warheads. Instead, the Bush administration, bowing to oil-rich Saudi Arabia and to nuclear-armed Pakistan, launched a never-ending War on Terror that allowed AQ chief Osama Bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar and their most senior commanders to escape ... into neighboring Pakistan.
