Straight from Downing Street, FFS. What really worries, I suppose, is that they are too thick to realise that, if you want to deal with a mouse infestation, cats are a waste of time.

As any expert will tell you, the three principles are: proofing, housekeeping and then, last and least, predation (which includes poisoning). Basically, if you have a long-term infestation in a house - all other things being equal - it is because your domestic hygiene is squalid – which perhaps says something about our pretend prime minister and his fancy missus.

COMMENT THREAD

This should not be a problem for our politicians and military. It is exactly what they did in Iraq and they are sufficiently skilled in constructive self-delusion to be able to do it again.

The questions are, though, how much money will be spent, and how many more lives are lost before they finally admit that they're not achieving anything of lasting value, and finally pull out. Surely, since they "do" self-delusion so well, they could do it sooner rather than later?
