Every Friday Christian Concern will bring you stories of fundamental significance to Christians and our Nation. To equip you to pray and act. To put the hope of Christ at the centre of our Nation. In this edition As well as contacting the House of Lords to support Baroness Cox’s Bill (here), there are two further actions that you could take this weekend to back current campaigns:

Christian Concern is pleased to be leading the Not Ashamed initiative. Act now to tackle sharia law
Baroness Cox introduced a new Bill in the House of Lords this week which is intended to outlaw the use of sharia law where it conflicts with English law. The Bill has arisen over concerns about the discrimination suffered by Muslim women under the sharia system. The Bill proposes to protect women by stopping discriminatory rulings that are contrary to UK law and ensuring that sharia law does not appear to have jurisdiction where it does not.
The Bill is being supported by the “Equal and Free” Campaign, backed by Christian Concern and many other groups.
Please contact a member of the House of Lords and urge them to support Baroness Cox’s Bill. 1000 people contacted various members of the House of Lords in the first 24 hours of launch. Let’s make it 100,000!
Please take action now >

Equipping the church to engage with society
Our local ‘Awake, Arise’ conferences have been well received. We seek to empower Christians with the framework and practical tools to respond with the love and truth of Christ to the challenges that our society faces.
We’re now taking bookings for Autumn 2011 and Spring 2012. Would your church be interested in holding an event? We can guide you through the process. For more information, please contact us here.
