Leading Taliban Commander Vows Jihad Against the West, Says Osama Bin Laden's 'Ideology Of Fighting a Global Jihad Against The Forces Of Infidels Has Penetrated Our Very Souls'

Leading Taliban commander Omar Khalid Al-Khorasani, who is Emir of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for the Pakistani tribal district of Mohmand Agency, has issued a statement vowing to continue Osama bin Laden's jihad against the West and Pakistan.
In a June 7 statement posted on an Internet jihadist forum, Omar Khalid Al-Khorasani argued that the path of jihad did not end with the passing of Prophet Muhammad, nor did it end with the death of Osama bin Laden.
He noted: "The idea that the Jihadi groups have weakened after the departure of Sheikh Osama is totally baseless. The ideology which Sheikh Osama bin Laden preached and the inspiration he gave to fight the global forces of infidels not only continues to linger in our souls, but has grown much stronger."

Wali Al-Rahman Mahsoud: "I am certain that Osama bin Laden was martyred. As far as we know, the reason the U.S. did not show photos of his body is that during the American operation and effort to arrest him, he [detonated] the explosives belt he always kept with him."

Article in New Taliban Magazine Justifies Jihad Against Pakistan: 'Today, the Crusader-Gangster America Crushes Our Respectable and Dignified People With the Help of Its [Pakistani] Slaves'

Recently, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP or Movement of the Pakistani Taliban) unveiled an Urdu-language magazine, Khilafat Quarterly; the magazine is published under the patronage of Umar Khalid Khorasani, the TTP's Emir for Mohmand Agency, a Pakistani tribal district. The first issue of the magazine was dated March 2011, but was released on Internet jihadist forums in June 2011.
In the first part of an article titled "Jihad in Pakistan Why?" Mufti Umar Zaman, the magazine's editor-in-chief, argued in favor of waging jihad against Pakistan. Mufti Zaman began his article by quoting a famous couplet by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, the Islamist national poet of Pakistan: "The mosque was built overnight by those who had the zeal of faith; but the heart is an old sinner, it could not offer prayers in years."

Article on Taliban Website Criticizes Afghan Secularists: 'Those Secularists Among Our Race… Are a Satanic Growth, a Moth Worm Gnawing at the Hearts of Our Proud Afghan People'

Recently, the website of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban's shadow government) published an article, by one Abu Muthanna Badir, extensively criticizing secularists in Afghanistan and accusing them of serving American interests in the country by spreading Western ideas. It also accused the Afghan secularists of waging a war against Islam. The article was titled "The Secularists Between Enmity to the Mujahideen and Loyalty to the Western Americans," and was translated from the Arabic-language Al-Somood magazine, a Taliban affiliate publication.
The article observed: "We know full well that their description, at the direction of their master (America), of the Islamists and mujahideen as extremist, radical, fanatic or terrorist is not intended to return the mujahid to moderation. Rather, the intent is to quell Islamic feeling and jihadist fervor and to destroy any type of rebellion against Western ideas."
The article also argued that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is under attack from Afghan secularists, and added that this assault is not limited to the Western opposition to the implementation of Islamic shari'a in Afghanistan; rather, it also involves creating ethnic and geographical tensions in Afghanistan.
