The continuing case of ‘M,’ a patient in a minimally conscious state whose mother wants food and water to be withdrawn so that she dies, has again highlighted the slide towards involuntary euthanasia in the UK.
The nurse in charge of her team of carers said in a witness statement this week that M responds to music and conversation and even tries to communicate.
Disability campaigners protested outside parliament this week by staging a ‘mock execution’ to raise the alarm over the drift towards all-out euthanasia.

Prayer Point: Pray for M and that legal protections would not be compromised.Human-animal hybrids and wasted human embryos
Over 150 human-animal hybrids have been produced in the UK since 2008 according to figures released this week.
The hybrid embryos have failed to help find any treatments and cures for human illness.
It was also revealed that over 30 human embryos are created for every successful IVF implantation in a woman, resulting in over 2 million human embryos being discarded or frozen since 1991.
There has been minimal press coverage of these stories, showing widespread indifference to what Lord Alton described as ‘grotesque’ practices.

The push for euthanasia and the alarming nature of bioethical practices in this country are just two examples of the cultural forces that are changing the foundations of our society.
We at Christian Concern are committed to proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ in all areas of public life in order to renew and restore British society for the good of all.
Every month we need to raise funds for our work of campaigning, defending and equipping.
