Is a bunch of young Israeli lawyers working round the clock sustained only by Diet Coke, falafel and cigarettes about to pull off the legal equivalent of the Six-Day War?
Israel famously won that war before it even started by destroying the Egyptian air force on the ground. Now it’s beginning to look as if the Gaza flotilla of fools and fanatics may be holed below the waterline before it even sets off on its cynical and potentially murderous stunt.
The world is truly upside down when the Libyan dictator's son actually makes more sense than the U.S. President, as the completely unnecessary intervention in Libya's civil war rages on, and Al Qaeda-connected rebels--backed by NATO--fail to defeat a regime that justifiably feels betrayed by the West. The son's terrifying but logical conclusion: non-Western nations need to build and maintain strong armies--and acquire weapons of mass destruction--in order to defend themselves.

What the mainstream media refuses to report: the Obama administration is pro-Islamist in spite of having killed Osama Bin Laden and stepped-up U.S. drone attacks on Al Qaeda operatives. AQ and "irreconcilable" Taliban elements are the only Islamist groups the administration is not prepared to engage--meaning, appease and attempt to align with--in the hope of pacifying Afghanistan and Pakistan. Obama and his henchpersons regard Islam as the religion of the Third World and rightwing political Islam as an unstoppable force that can be manipulated and exploited. Hence, Obama's outreach to what he insists on calling "the Muslim world," his habit of quoting from "the Holy Koran," his failed efforts to win over Hamas and Hezbollah, his support for burqas and Islamic headscarves, etc.
Maybe it's time to get the U.S. out of the UN and the UN out of the U.S. The United States--not the United Nations--is the last, best hope for peace.
