Action Alert – Respond to Important Abortion Consultation

LifeThe Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice is consulting on whether to relax the rules on advertising abortion services, which would enable commercial abortion providers to advertise on television for the first time.

Doing so will help stop abortion providers from encouraging vulnerable women to have abortions.

Palm Cross Employee Suspended

Colin Atkinson, the Wakefield and District Housing employee who fought for the right to keep displaying a small palm cross in his van, has been suspended from work following continued harassment.

Mr Atkinson had displayed a palm cross in his work van for fifteen years until his employers told him to remove it after an anonymous complaint. After a campaign mounted by Christian Concern, and negotiations with his employer, it was agreed in April that Mr Atkinson could continue to display his cross in his van.

However, after a resolution had seemingly been found, Mr Atkinson has suffered repeated problems at work and after filing a grievance procedure has now been told to stay at home.
