Right to Know Campaign – Act Now
A parliamentary debate on the need for independent abortion counselling is expected to be held on Tuesday 6th September.
The debate follows an amendment laid by Nadine Dorries and Frank Field to ensure that women considering an abortion would be guaranteed access to independent advice from someone who had no vested financial interest in the outcome of their decision.
The amendment is being backed by the Right to Know Campaign, supported by Christian Concern. Wonderfully, the government has now accepted the need for such independent counselling to be offered.
However, it is important that as many MPs as possible attend the debate and speak in support. Please contact your MP (again), let them know about the debate and urge them to speak and vote in favour of these important steps. Thank you.
