Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America”
I first posted this about a year ago. Since then half a million people have come here to listen to it as of July10/11. Now it is up to 3/4 million.
Here Is a Real Star. In case you don’t know it, this is the person that is referred to as “The Fat Lady” in the trite verbalization of “It’s not over till the fat lady sings”.
Kate Smith was born and grew up in Columbia, Missouri . In early 1940, Kate Smith, a fiercely patriotic American, and the biggest star on radio, was deeply worried about her country.
She asked Irving Berlin if he could give her a song that would re-ignite the spirit of American patriotism and faith. He said he had a song that he had written in 1917, but never used it.
He said she could have it. She sat at the piano & played it and realized how good it was. She called Mr. Berlin and told him that she couldn’t take this from him for nothing.
So, they agreed that any money that would be made off the song would be...
Landau: Time to Cancel the Oslo Accords
Minister Uzi Landau calls to cancel ‘absurd’ Oslo agreements as PA seeks unilateral state. Israel must prepare for September violence.
by Maayana Miskin, INN
The time has come for Israel to cancel the Oslo Accords, Minister of National Infrastructure Uzi Landau told Arutz Sheva. The “absurd” accords should be canceled both because of the Palestinian Authority’s plan to seek unilateral statehood, and because they are harmful, he said.
“These agreements were absurd and grave, and did serious damage to Israel’s security,” he argued.
“No less importantly, they paved the way to give legitimacy to the existence of a Palestinian people and to the argument that they deserve a state in Judea and Samaria, the cradle of our society. These accords turned the leader of a terrorist gang, Yasser Arafat, into a supposed cultured leader worthy of joining the society of nations,” he continued. When Israel gives legitimacy to the PA, “the organization that...

Dov Weisglass: Don’t annul the Oslo Accords
Annulling Oslo a foolish idea, will force Israel to take responsibility for millions of Palestinians
Dov Weisglass
It has recently been reported that Israel is currently mulling the annulment of the Oslo Accords as a means of retribution against the Palestinian Authority, should it indeed go to the UN with a bid to recognize a Palestinian state in line with the 1967 borders. Before Israel finds itself entangled in yet another act of folly, we would do well to examine the practical implications of the proposed move.
Annulling the Oslo Accords means terminating the Palestinian Authority, as the agreements featured a gradual diplomatic process destined to culminate in the establishment of a Palestinian state. The PA was established based on the same agreements: A temporary government system meant to run the lives of Palestinians until a state is established. The PA was assigned various authorities and given areas in Judea, Samaria and Gaza where it can exercise civilian control.
Between Neocons and Isolationists
Warning to GOPers and their presidential aspirants: There are more than two foreign policy options
By Caroline B. Glick, WJR
It would be a real tragedy if at the end of the primary season, due to neoconservative intellectual bullying the Republican nominee was forced to choose between neoconservativism and isolationism
Over the past several months, a certain intolerance has crept into the rhetoric of leading neoconservative publications and writers. This intolerance has become particularly noticeable since February’s neoconservative-supported overthrow of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, and US President Barack Obama’s neoconservative-supported decision to commit US forces to battle against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in March.
The basic concept being propounded by leading neoconservative writers and publications is that anyone who disagrees with neoconservative policies is an isolationist. A notable recent example of this tendency was a blog post published...
Abraham Foxman and National “Jewish” “Democratic” Council: Sharia is Not a Threat
Abraham Foxman and NJDC tell us not to worry about creeping Sharia
by Bill Levinson
ADL’s Foxman Calls for an End to “Pernicious” anti-Sharia “Conspiracy Theories” from the National Jewish Democratic Council links to Shout down the Sharia myth makers by Abraham Foxman. First, a little history:
(1) Foxman and NJDC both whitewashed anti-Semitic hate speech from MoveOn.org.
(2) Foxman legitimized the vicious racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton by issuing a joint statement with him.
(3) Foxman attacked a Congressional resolution to recognize the genocide of Armenians in 1915, and fired an ADL director (Tarsy) for having the integrity to go against him. Two other ADL directors resigned in disgust.
(4) Now for the latest…
Shout down the Sharia myth makers
In fact, these legislative efforts are the proverbial solution in search of a problem. The separation of church and state embodied in U.S. and state constitutions prohibits our courts from applying or...
Obama Renews Assault on Jewish Jerusalem
Jonathan S. Tobin, Commentary/Contentions
The Obama administration renewed its attack on Jewish Jerusalem today by formally condemning the construction of apartments in part of the city. The approval last week of a housing project in the Har Homa neighborhood of the city was blasted by the State Department as being contrary to the peace process and an impediment to the renewal of negotiations with the Palestinians.
But like previous statements from the administration, the complaint about apartments in Har Homa has little to do with the moribund peace process and everything to do with an Obama policy decision to treat the hundreds of thousands of existing Jews living in parts of Israel’s capital as being no different from the most remote hilltop settlements in the West Bank. Despite the rhetoric from Washington, Har Homa isn’t up for grabs in a theoretical peace deal, and housing there won’t stop a two-state solution if the Palestinians ever decide they want one. What it is an...
