Past Conference on Extending Sovereignty.

Hevron Conference tackles applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria

By Josh Hasten

Several hundred people from all over the country, along with members of Knesset, educators, and, journalists, gathered in Hebron on Thursday July 21, 2011, for a one day conference exploring the possibilities of Israel asserting sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. The event, organized by the Women in Green organization, featured lectures by Israeli experts in the fields of politics, academia, security, demographics, and economics, who all made the case for Israel to annex the areas acquired in the Six-Day-War.

The events’ speakers also addressed the future status of the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria, should Israel take such measures.

Jerusalem Post correspondent and Latma founder Caroline Glick suggested that Israel assume control over Judea and Samaria similarly to the way Israel annexed the Golan and the Eastern neighborhoods of...

How black slaves helped set South Sudan free

By Charles Jacobs

On July 9, a new African nation – the Republic of South Sudan – was born and days later admitted to the United Nations as its 193rd member. This is an extraordinary development in the history of nation states, replete with marvels, contradictions and ironies: The partition of Africa’s largest country was the result of a halfcentury of armed struggle, yet it culminated peacefully via the ballot box. Courageous Muslim individuals contributed to freeing a Christian and traditionalist South from Islamic rulers. But most wondrous of all: It may well have been South Sudan’s black slaves who set their nation free.

Since the Islamic conquests a millennium ago, Arabs enslaved blacks in Sudan and throughout North Africa. The practice was largely suppressed by the British, but in the early ’90s, when Islamist rulers in the north declared a “holy war” to impose Sharia Law on the South, slavery dramatically surged. Arab militia, armed by Khartoum, stormed...

“Racists” and “Fascists” and Miscreants

By Ted Belman

In America, one is called “racist” at the drop of the hat. This epithet is no longer limited to people who discriminate based on race but is used against people who voice any disagreement with leftist PC. If you are against multiculturalism, you are called a racist. If you are against illegal aliens you are a racist. If you are for limiting Muslim immigration, you are a racists. If you want to ban sharia law, you are a racist. If you reject a mosque at Ground Zero, you are a racist, and so on. It is immaterial whether you have good reason for your beliefs. The reason for such name calling is to inhibit you from expressing a contrary opinion. Unfortunately it works.

In Israel, the appellation of choice by the left is ‘anti-democratic”, or worse, ”fascist”. Any effort to protect the state of Israel, is attacked as a limitation of free speech and earns the proponents of the legislation, that label. The Left argues that such legislation is...

The End for Assad?

High Ranking Officers Desert, Join Rebels

by Arutz Sheva Staff

A Syrian Major-General has deserted Assad’s army along with a group of other officers and joined the rebels.

In an Arabic video clip posted on Youtube on July 29, 2011, the officer, Major-General Riad El As’ad is seen in the company of other officers, announcing the establishment of the “Free Syrian Army whose main goal will be to fight the army of oppression headed by President Bashar Assad”.

As’ad accused the Assad regime of crimes against the Syrian people and called on the officers and soldiers in the Syrian army not to aim their weapons at the people. He further called on them to join the Free Syrian Army.

The major-general warned that the Free Army will eliminate any soldier who acts to harm his own people. The present army commanders do not represent the army, he continued, they are acting for the criminal gang that controls the media and prevents the people from obtaining...

Psychological Warfare for Infidels

by Bill Levinson

Freedom House assesses political and civil rights throughout the world, and it rated both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas-controlled Gaza “Not Free” in 2011. Why then is Israel, which Freedom House rates as “Free,” the international pariah against which leftist groups around the world direct boycotts, hatred, and opprobrium? Two sentences from the Mein Kampf Prevention Initiative’s page on the availability of this book provide the chilling answer.

    ISRAEL: Annotated excerpt version (pedagogical)
PALESTINE: An Arabic translation of Mein Kampf is a best-seller, and the University of Hamburg reports Hitler is a hero to the youth.

Mein Kampf contains an extensive discussion of propaganda and psychological warfare (PsyWar) including an extremely accurate assessment of its role in Germany’s defeat in the First World War. Israel is today following Imperial Germany’s recipe for losing a war while its enemies work...
