STATE OF THE UNION
“A social order which does not nourish liberty does not deserve to exist [it] deserves to be annihilated…”[1] Aristotle wrote that the character of a State is revealed by the functional or de facto nature of its relation to the people in it. By this measure the United States of America has become an authoritarian oligarchy whose utopian premises have devolved, as utopias tend to do, to worship of the State, the guarantor of ‘purity.’ This is a de facto worship of the coercive utopians that run the State and dispense ‘government programs’ for and in the name of “the best interests” of the people. The scores of millions of Americans familiar with the divorce industry will recognize the phrase quoted above as the machine’s excuse for diminishing the role of a father in his children’s lives, -- or to cast him out completely – while damaging the children by demonstrating the weakness of the father when confronted with the powerful malice of the State, “a science of degradation that kills people on their knees, confused and disgraced in their own eyes.”[2] It is a torture system in which makes every father any father “who knows he cannot protect his child” and “knows that for this failure he will never be forgiven.” Professions of spurious compassion are the signature of the Nanny State whose managers compel the worship of the degraded people who pay it to serve them what it says is good for them but that its hierarchs know is bad, that keeps them in a position of befuddled dependency, contemptible gratitude or outraged socio-political impotence. The genius of those running the State, whose principal means of control are the media distraction machine, the public schools for programmed numbing and the tax-extraction apparatus. The reduction of thought and areas of reasoning to clichés and slogans forge a regime that is like the jungle, all but “impenetrable to human thought and pitiless to human weakness.”[3] Fronting the ‘Welfare’ Nanny State with an all but galactic array of female goddesses enhances the degradation and diminution of fathers and men who are reduced to drones while women are urged to ‘marry themselves’ by worshipping female imagery, ‘stars’ and promises of all they can be via surgery, exercise, the armed forces, etc and to marry the State via various emoluments. Thus we arrive at a Janus-visaged fascism of Aphrodite and Uncle Sam: “the horror.”[4] There were utopians of an organic natural order projecting the ideal of love making, agricultural abundance, family continuity, offspring and pleasure; and there are the more familiar and ever more dominant utopians of managed purity intent on cleansing society of ‘imperfections’ and directed by (pseudo) scientists, economists, sociologists and so forth who eventually demand or arrange matters so that their ‘for your own good’ prescriptions become worship of them. These are the progressive fascists of the modern period like Bentham, Mill, Malthus, the Round Table, and the Welfare State whose roots are in Plato and, more recently, Rousseau and his hellish concept of the “General Will.” They were described by Huxley and Orwell who were the first to fully expose “the damnable Anglomania of modern ideas.”[5] The functional relation of the State apparatus to the people is that of slave masters to slaves. Here is a short list of the means this degradation is accomplished. Regulations on what you must do to your property, what you cannot do, and the conditions under which you may sell it, paying numerous fees to the State; Exactions on your work, which is your life; de facto ownership and deformation of your life; De facto ownership of your children by the public school system for which you must pay and is all but mandatory, a system that indoctrinates and bores your children, alienating them from you and cultural tradition and leaving them all but unable to think; “Family Law” which defies numerous core provisions of the Bill of Rights to seize a father’s children and property, reducing the children to hostages and the father to a wage slave criminalized without cause; this is termed ‘civil law’ an Orwellian perversion of language; Mandatory purchase of “medical insurance,” first in Massachusetts then the nation, which is more expensive every year; if you refuse to buy it, you are assessed a hefty tax penalty that feeds the beast; Media that inform the dazzled masses of “the truth” and define, sometimes implicitly and sometimes overtly who is outside the circle and thus deserving punishment and de-humanization in an orange suit before a case even is judged, this aside from the ‘justice’ available in an era when truth and evidence are mocked from the pinnacle of Academia to K-12; Endless wars of attrition that are meant to humiliate and impoverish while exalting the military which is deformed into part of the terror mystique; The sum of this nightmare of hypocrisy, threats and theft is that one must worship the State, “the coldest of all cold monsters”[6]which generously doles out programs paid for by the public, some of whom receive back a fraction of what has been taken and some of whom receive nothing but vilification and emptied pockets. Society and the people are defined as a diseased body that must be purified by the dispensers of the cure. It is a new Puritanism whose glitter disguises the fact that it is far colder and less sensual than the originals who knew how to love: the poetry of Anne Bradstreet shows that. They were not, as the New Idol is today routinely brutal. Then there is the uniquely pitiless arrogance of the Nanny State and its purity mongers: “’On earth there is nothing greater than I; the ordering finger of God am I,’ thus roars the monster.”[7] “A social order which does not nourish liberty does not deserve to exist and instead deserves to be annihilated.” The worship of imagery, delusions and lies, the ‘goods’ now sold for our benefit, “to serve man” is a living death that drains the life from desire, hope and beauty.[8] The tragedy is that this is the state of affairs in a land so lovely and so blessed. The last stage cliché and ‘truth’ that will finish the job, “the string that will tie the robbers’ bundle”[9] is that the Constitution has become irrelevant. Indeed, it already has been rhetorically expunged by judicial arrogance, the cynicism of the managers of power. Increasingly they write that government spending is essential to economic growth.[10] Such long term and fundamental damage is repaired in increments, a myriad of small healings over time. Look at the method of the opponents in capturing and deforming the Culture. Do not believe the path of incremental restoration is sealed. The conquerors gain by convulsions so one step at a time... Know their game. Starve the machine or it will drain you and yours; when not engaged in incremental healing, tune into humanity, into the Culture that began dying into ‘Civilization’ in Europe nearly two centuries ago, in America about a century ago.
