Comment: The official version of the revolt is false. The uprising was violent from its inception; police stations and armories were attacked and looted, and many of the arms have ended up in the hands of Islamist terrorists and criminal gangs. The shadowy, ragtag rebels could never have overthrown the regime without foreign support. NATO bombing and covert boots on the ground were essential elements, conveniently ignored by Western media who have functioned as slick propagandists for the rebels.
