Islamic Awareness Week 2011 to begin next Sunday

Everything I needed to know about militant Islam, I learned on September 11 2001.
by Bill Levinson

Sunday September 11 will mark the beginning of Islamic Awareness Week, in which we encourage readers to cite the contributions that Islam as practiced on September 11 2001 has made to the world’s history.

September 11 itself should of course be devoted to the holocaust (mass human sacrifice by fire) that this depraved ideology made on that particular day, beginning with the slitting of the throats of terrified female flight attendants along with those of the flight crews. It should then continue with the impact of the planes into the Twin Towers and Pentagon followed by people jumping to their deaths to avoid being burned alive as sacrifices to Allah in what the hijackers had effectively turned into colossal wicker baskets as once used in similar Druidic rituals long ago. It should conclude with ongoing health effects on all the innocent people who inhaled debris from the...

Israel Hayom gives both sides

MK Ofir Akunis | Social sensitivity and responsibility
Israelis are angry: Along with our economy’s successes, it has some shortcomings as well.
Dror Eydar | The goal: reinstating the Left to power
Saturday night’s protest did not restore hope – it reinstated fear of totalitarianism.

There are few moments in life when a person feels like part of history in the making.
Dan Margalit | What made the protest a success?
Although protesters came from all sectors of society, the common goal was social justice.

Can the “Facebook Revolutions” bring about real change that rids society of its ills?

Bibi has his work cut out for him

Bibi must deal with “social justice now”, UDI, illegal strike by 1000 medical residents, Turkey and Egypt. All are pressing problems. Bibi will have to walk and chew gum at the same time.

But when 400,000 Israelis (even if it was only half that) fill the streets, the government cannot ignore the. It is not enough to reject them because they are politically motivated. Bibi’s job is to give them a better shake while not undermining our economic strengths. No easy task, but it must be done.

Turkey, all hat and no cattle

DEBKA

US sources told debkafile that the Erdogan government’s outpouring of vindictive misinformation with a view to upsetting relations between the Obama administration and the Israeli government would cut no ice. Mixing in American domestic politics to misdirect its international crises was a dangerous game.

The Turkish Navy, they added, is no match for Israeli missile boat technology and their electronic jamming and tracking systems. Neither do the Turks have advanced submarines like Israel’s German-made Dolphins or close air cover.

US sources following the dispute also dismissed as hollow Davutoglu’s follow-up threat Saturday, Sept. 3: “If Israel persists with its current position,” he warned, “the Arab spring will give rise to a strong Israel opposition as well as the debate on the authoritarian regimes.”

Washington sources condemned such statements as beyond the acceptable diplomatic bounds. “It sounds as...

Why Israel is concerned about a U.N. recognition of Palestine.

By Ted Belman

The PA wants the UN to “raise the status of the Palestinians to a nonvoter observer state from that of a nonvoting “entity,” which could allow them to join many UN bodies, and pursue cases against Israel at the International Criminal Court.”

The ICC, pursuant to the Rome Statute, was set up to prosecute the following crimes,

    (a) The crime of genocide;
    (b) Crimes against humanity;
    (c) War crimes;
    (d) The crime of aggression.

but they gave very broad definition to them.

Israel is fully supportive of the goals of the court and its desire to ensure that no perpetrator of heinous crimes goes unpunished.

But, The Israel Ministry for Foreign Affairs explained why Israel refused to sign the treaty writing,

    Israel has concerns as to how effectively these will be achieved through the court as it has been constituted. A major concern is that the court will be subjected to political pressures and its impartiality will be...
