NJDC asked to call out Obama Administration’s glaring omission of Israel from list of terrorism victims
To: David A. Harris, National Jewish Democratic Council

Dear Mr. Harris,
The National Jewish Democratic Council has espoused Barack Obama’s purported commitment to the security of Israel (e.g. “Israel Protecting Ashdod with Obama Administration-Funded Iron Dome Battery”). The Zionist Organization of America expressed outrage today, however, that Mr. Obama omitted Israel from a list of nations that are being victimized by terroristic violence.
ZOA cites in turn “White House Issues Guides on Sept. 11 Observances” which quotes the Obama administration as follows:
“As we commemorate the citizens of over 90 countries who perished in the 9/11 attacks, we honor all victims of terrorism, in every nation around the world,” the overseas guidelines state. “We honor and celebrate the resilience of individuals, families, and communities on every continent, whether in New York or Nairobi, Bali or Belfast, Mumbai or Manila, or Lahore or London.”

Quote for the Week
“The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.” –
Ralph Waldo Emerson. This applies to states too. Think Israel.
It was back to school for about 1,942,000 students who began a new academic year in Israel’s 4,400 education institutes. In light of government plans to shorten the summer break as of next year, this would be the last time the school year begins on September 1st. Our President, Prime Minister and a number of Members of the Cabinet were on hand to encourage the kids to do their best in the ensuing twelve months. Were the children happy? They certainly seemed to be, it was a long, long holiday, perhaps too long. Were the parents happy? You bet. Were the teachers happy? Well, for the first time that we can remember there were no strikes or threats of labor unrest so they must have been. If education is Israel’s secret weapon then we’re ready to do battle. ...
Obama’s Cliche-based foreign policy
By Caroline B. Glick, JEWISH WORLD REVIEW
Since taking office, Obama has taken concerted steps to place cooperation the UN at the top of his foreign policy agenda. Through word and deed, Obama has shown that he believes that the US should minimize the extent to which it operates independently from the UN on the global stage. This week, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen revealed detailed explanations about how UN agencies and activities harm US interests despite American tax payers funding a significant amount of the international body’s budget. She introduced the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act. But the White House is going to war against it. Why? Glick
US Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee kicked up a political storm this week. Tuesday Ros-Lehtinen introduced the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act. If passed into law it would place stringent restrictions on US funding of...

Obama ignores Israel as target of terrorism
Obama Issues Guides on Sept. 11 Observances
NYT
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is shocked and appalled that President Obama once again omitted Israel in his list of countries suffering from terrorist attacks. In the talking points issued by the Obama Administration for the forthcoming tenth anniversary of the Al-Qaeda September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C, Israel is ignored as one of the targets of terrorism.
In the talking points provided by officials in several government agencies to the New York Times, the following statement appears, “As we commemorate the citizens of over 90 countries who perished in the 9/11 attacks, we honor all victims of terrorism, in every nation around the world … We honor and celebrate the resilience of individuals, families, and communities on every continent, whether in New York or Nairobi, Bali or Belfast, Mumbai or Manila, or Lahore or London” (Thom Shanker & Eric Schmitt, ‘White House...
Obama in cahoots with CAIR and OIC
By Nina Shea, NRO
An unprecedented collaboration between the Obama administration and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC, formerly called the Organization of the Islamic Conference) to combat “Islamophobia” may soon result in the delegitimization of freedom of expression as a human right.
The administration is taking the lead in an international effort to “implement” a U.N. resolution against religious “stereotyping,” specifically as applied to Islam. To be sure, it argues that the effort should not result in free-speech curbs. However, its partners in the collaboration, the 56 member states of the OIC, have no such qualms. Many of them police private speech through Islamic blasphemy laws and the OIC has long worked to see such codes applied universally. Under Muslim pressure, Western Europe now has laws against religious hate speech that serve as proxies...

Four Israeli universities are included among the top 30 computer science universities in the world (US – 20 universities, Canada – 2, UK – 2, Switzerland – 1, Hong Kong – 1), according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), commonly known as the Shanghai ranking, a publication compiled by the Shanghai Jiaotong University – one of the three most influential rankings.

“Israel cruised through the recent global slump with scarcely a down quarter and no deficit or stimulus package…in an array of leading-edge technologies. It is the global master of microchip design, network algorithms and medical instruments… Israel is incontestably the world leader in water recycling and desalinization… Israel is also making major advances...
Palmer: Gaza blockade lawful, IDF used ‘excessive’ force
I reject the Palmer Report. First because it was a panel set up by the UN. Need I say more? Secondly it was a consensus report. Thus each side gets something. The Panel was not to adjudicate on legal liability yet it reported that Israel’s use of force was “excessive and unreasonable”. To my mind this is a legal conclusion. Based on this finding, the report recommended that Israel make “an appropriate statement of regret” and pay compensation to the families of the nine people killed by troops aboard the ship. They had no business doing this. If the families believe they are entitled to compensation let them make their case in an Israeli Court. There should be no compensation without legal responsibility. Who gives a s… that this panel thinks Israel should make a statement of regret. This panel acted as mediator suggesting compromises to get agreement from the parties. I didn’t see any recommendations as to what Turkey should do in return, given...
