Surprisingly, sources say, Palin believes that there is a good chance that she will not have to face President Obama in the 2012 national election. Reason: Democrat Obama will either drop out of the race or be dumped by his party in favor of his former political rival, Hillary Clinton, who will soon resign her job as U.S. Secretary of State in an 11th-hour attempt to distance herself from Obama's disastrous policy of trying to engage Islamist regimes and terrorist groups, including Iran, which is likely to have acquired atomic arms before next November.
Foreign Confidential™ sources say that Clinton is also believed by Palin and her advisors to be increasingly concerned that the Obama administration's overt and covert support for the Arab Spring revolts--including intervening in Libya's civil war on the rebel side, which Clinton and Obama foreign policy advisor Samantha Power both strongly supported--is increasingly likely to blow back in America's face as country after country goes Islamist and Turkey's imperialist intentions become more obvious and more alarming.
In this regard, Palin is said to believe that it's too late for Clinton: her collaboration with Obama on engagement and history of supporting job-killing globalization will hurt her badly in the general election.
In contrast with Clinton, Palin is a strong supporter of Israel and an outspoken opponent of rightwing political Islam. Unlike Clinton, Palin strongly opposes the continued hollowing-out of the U.S. economy and the choking-off of its long-neglected domestic energy supplies in the name of helping humanity and "saving the planet."
