Colleagues,
I am delighted to advise you that we will be holding the thirteenth
consecutive Annual Christmas Dinner at the Holiday Inn, Portsmouth
Road, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 5QQ on Tuesday 20th December, 7.00pm for
8.00. Carriages 11.30pm. Dress: Lounge Suits.Unlimited free parking
immediately adjacent to the hotel. Nearest stations, Kingston and
Surbiton main line, both 1/2 mile away with taxis outside of the
station.
The speakers this year will be the UKIP Party Leader, Nigel Farage, MEP
and the official UKIP candidate for the London Mayoral Elections in
2012, Lawrence Webb.
The cost of tickets is £25 per head for two courses and payable when
booking. And early booking is recommended as tickets will sell out
fast. Why not make a night of it and stay over? We have negotiated a
special overnight rate of £89.50 for bed and breakfast. In the morning
why not pop into Kingston (1/2 mile away ) and do some Christmas
shopping in the famous and warm, indoor Bentall Center and the famous
street market in the beautiful 16th century market square? The Holiday
Inn is a new hotel overlooking the Thames in Kingston and Surbiton
constituency and is a new `bijou' style modern hotel.
The theme will be "Bring a prospective UKIP member" with our campaign
to build Surrey into the biggest and best UKIP region and in line with
the Party's aim of doubling the size of the membership in the next
twelve months. Not an easy task. With the firm intention of expanding
the Party ahead of the Mayoral elections next year, the Euro-elections
in 2014 and the declared General Election in 20015 it will be a great
opportunity for you to bring any guests, friends or family to a major
UKIP social event and let them see some of UKIP's finest `Strut their
Stuff!" We are aiming for 50% of the audience to be non-members, ready
for recruitment. If we got the same number as we did last year along
with a further 50% who were not members it would justify taking the
adjacent suite; about which, see below.
Capacity is limited to 120 people and last year was a 100% sell out. If
demand warrants it we could book the adjacent suite which is a
separated by a sliding wall and seats a further 100 but we would need
early bookings if we are to secure the additional suite given how busy
this period is in the run up to Christmas.
. So cheque books out please! Yes, I know, what a delightfully old
fashioned operation we are. Unlike Tesco we still accept cheques. And
big ones too please!
Cheques should be payable to UKIP Kingston Branch, please and sent to
John Moran, 1 Lovelace Villas, Claygate, Surrey KT10 0PE.
Regards and an early good Christmas wish for you.
John Moran.
