Choose Life: An Event to Remember

Thank you to everyone who came to our Choose Life day yesterday, to remember the 44th anniversary of the passing of the Abortion Act and the babies who have been aborted since that time in England and Wales, numbering well over 7 million.

The day was a celebration of life, beginning with joyful singing from a Zimbabwean female choir and later on at the rally outside Parliament three young Nigerians, who could have been aborted, impressed with their exceptional dance routines. Many passers by stopped to watch and listen in on proceedings.

It was also a day in which the horror of abortion was exposed and frankly discussed, with many stirring presentations from speakers from different pro-life groups.

There was a strong sense that we can turn the tide and that we have a great case to make to the public.

We will be bringing a full report of the event shortly.

Dear Supporters,

The response to my Marathon appeal has been incredible - thank you so much to all of you who have donated so far; we received £18,000 in the first 48 hours!

However, I'm still some way off my target of raising £100,000 to help Christian Concern make great strides in 2012!

Three years ago, when I received the devastating diagnosis that I had aggressive, life-threatening breast cancer, I didn't think I would be able to keep Christian Concern going, much less run a marathon.

Today, I have my health back and am privileged to work with a committed and visionary staff team of 20. So I know that with your help it's possible today to not just run a marathon but also to meet our ambitious £100,000 funding target.

Please let me hear from you soon.

With thanks,

Andrea Minichiello Williams

Christian demoted for views on marriage

In a shocking case of anti-Christian discrimination, a public sector employee in Manchester has been disciplined after he posted comments on his private Facebook page affirming his belief that marriage is between a man and a woman and questioning the idea of homosexual ‘marriages’ taking place in a church.

Adrian Smith, an employee of Trafford Housing Trust, posted his mild and reasonable comments outside of working hours and on his private page, not accessible to the general public.

He has now been found guilty of gross misconduct and is being demoted from a managerial post to a lower grade position, with a corresponding pay cut from £35,000 to £21,396 per year. He is being supported by the Christian Institute.
