Clegg sending £5m to Egypt? -
An interesting short comment in reply - from a colleague in America!

-Our money is going to Egypt! -
Daily Express Fri 21st Oct/11
Is he out of his mind?
Since Qadaffi was murdered, Obama has been claiming 'he' is the one who gave instructions, directions etc. (ergo it was HIS coup). I can't remember what channel it was, but last night, the news anchor came out with, "Where does Obama get off taking credit for Qadaffi's death?
Everyone in the world knows it was the British & French who pulled it off.............some news sounds better to the ears than other.
Stop it, I say - stop all this nonsense, NOW!
An Accountant is needed in Westminster - Harriett Baldwin perhaps? Pensions expert, as well! It says:
"(Harriett)...has enjoyed a successful 20 year career in finance, specialising in currency markets for pension funds. She was on the National Council of Business for Sterling. ..... Her motivation for going into politics was that she could see that Gordon Brown as Chancellor had set Britain on an unsustainable financial path."
Sounds good to me!
(Funny how it always comes back to money......!)

ANGER AT NICK CLEGG'S £5M TO EGYPT
Nick Clegg pledged aid for Egypt
Friday October 21,2011
By Alison Little Deputy Political Editor
NICK Clegg was criticised yesterday after pledging more than £5million in British cash to help the economies of Arab Spring countries, including Egypt.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced the package, which is partly designed to improve smaller companies' access to credit finance, during a visit to Cairo.
Tory MP Philip Davies said: "Most small businesses in this country will probably find it a bit of a kick in the teeth to discover that the Deputy Prime Minister is in Egypt to try and help their businesses get access to credit when many of our own are struggling to get credit."
The pledge came as the EU urged authorities in Egypt to ensure proper medical care for a jailed Christian internet blogger who has been on hunger strike since August.
He was convicted of spreading false information about the military. The treatment of minorities has also been called into question after at least 24 people died in recent clashes between military police and Christians protesting at the destruction of a church.
Mr Clegg announced that the UK would hand over more than £5million through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to provide "technical assistance" and extend credit for small and medium-sized enterprises in Arab Spring countries. Nearly 900 British firms are actively involved in the Egyptian economy. Mr Clegg met bosses from some of them, including BP, Shell, Vodafone and HSBC.
