Donald Trump Accepts Gold Bullion as Lease Payment From Commercial Tenant

'The return of real money has made a triumphant re-entry into the US economy with the recent acceptance by The Trump Organization of gold bullion as payment for a commercial lease property. APMEX, one of the largest dealers of precious metals in the US, paid Donald Trump's company three, one kilo bars (roughly 96.45 troy ounces) of .9999 pure Gold as a security deposit for its newly-leased space on the 50th floor of 40 Wall Street, also known as the Trump Building.'

Financial Polarization and Corruption: Obama’s Politics of Deception

Don’t Let Him Get Away With It...

'President Obama’s solution has been to do what any political demagogue does: Come out with loud populist campaign speeches that have no chance of becoming the law of the land, while quietly giving his campaign contributors what they’ve paid him for: giveaways to Wall Street, tax cuts for the wealthy (euphemized as tax “exemptions” and mark-to-model accounting, plus an agreement to count their income as “capital gains” taxed at a much lower rate).

So here’s the deal the Democratic leadership has made with the Republicans. The Republicans will run someone from their present gamut of guaranteed losers, enabling Mr. Obama to run as the “voice of reason,” as if this somehow is Middle America. This will throw the 2012 election his way for a second term if he adopts their program – a set of rules paid for by the leading campaign contributors to both parties.'

'Silent Majority' Backs Economic Government of Europe

'The European Commission believes it is backed by a "silent majority" in favour of its push for further EU integration and potential future role as the economic government of Europe.

According to Johannes Laitenberger, head of cabinet to the European Commission president, the commission has more allies in its bid to re-assume control of the eurozone debt crisis - currently managed in a piecemeal fashion by member states - than is apparent at first sight.

"The first and best ally that we have in all of this is the silent majority who too often is drowned out by a very vocal minority of sceptics and critics but which is much more solid than we care to think," Laitenberger said Tuesday (4 October) at an event organised by the European Policy Centre.'
