France Hypocritically Condemns Israel For Gaza Strike

Laura: I really have had enough of the French and their attitude toward Israel. They bombed Libya indiscriminately for months, a country which presented no threat to France, but Israel is expected to remain passive in the face of rocket attacks coming from Gaza. And one has to ask what is France doing with a consular branch in Gaza anyway, a territory ruled by the terrorist hamas. By doing so they are giving legitimacy to the genocidal hamas regime. And France gives lip service to being committed to Israel’s security. Sure, more like committed to Israel’s destruction. And then it further lectures to Israel to avoid harm to civilians. Like the French did in its bombing of Libya? France most definitely is no ally of Israel. In fact it acts like an enemy.

Israel needs “checks and balances” between its branches of government

JPOST reports,

    Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said in private conversations on Tuesday that a draft law mandating that a Knesset committee hold hearings approving appointments to the Supreme Court is against the country’s status quo and not in keeping with the coalition’s guidelines.

    Netanyahu directed Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman, and coalition chairman Ze’ev Elkin (Likud) to remove the proposal from the agenda.

    “A law like this will not pass in a government I head,” he said.


OK, so Bibi thinks the bill is against the status quo. Huh? Isn’t every Bill against the status quo? What kind of an argument is this?

But Bibi went further,

    “The independence of the judiciary is above everything. I view as paramount the separation of powers and the rule of law.”

This really riles me. While Bibi is stressing the separation of powers, the US stresses “checks and balances”. Nobody there has unfettered power. Nor should they....
