Rogozin, who has just completed a stint as Russia's ambassador to NATO, is known for being militantly anti-Western. But his remarks should be taken seriously because (a) it must be assumed that they reflect the views of Russia's Prime Minister and presumed next President Vladimir Putin, and (b) the Cold War image of America as the enemy at Russia's door still resonates in the country, as this article explains.
