Turkey's defence minister Ismet Yilmaz has joined the eurosceptic cause.

He says "at first glance it may appear that the discrimination we faced, that is the reluctance to admit us into the EU, was a bad thing.

However, now we are discovering that Turkey is better off outside that union.

They attempted to rescue Greece and they failed. Has Greece emerged from the crisis yet?

That is a point to ponder. Therefore these days Turkey is doing much better.

Turkey's public finance had never been better than British public finance in the last 200 years.

God willing, we will achieve even better results."
