Kuwaiti Liberal: Claims of Jewish Control of World Media are False

In a sarcastic article in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Watan, liberal Kuwaiti journalist Khalil 'Ali Haidar mocks the claims that Israel and the Jews control world media and are responsible for morally corrupting Arab and Muslim societies. Haidar also rejects the usage of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to besmirch the Jews. According to him, unlike Israel and the Jews, it is actually Arabs and Muslims who invest major capital in various satellite channels to promote their interests, while there is not even a single Israeli satellite channel in the region.

Following are excerpts from the article:

"Israel and the Jews are often accused of controlling global press, television, and all media. However, [we must ask]: How many Israeli TV stations, or TV stations that [are controlled] by Jews, [target the audience of] the addicted Arab viewers? Who controls the satellites, the channels, and the broadcasts?..."

Jihad Al-Khazen: "In Jerusalem, there are no archeological remains of the Jews or any of their prophets. They have no history. People forget that during Yitzhak Rabin's first term in government, in the early 1980's [sic]… I was in America at the time, studying history at Georgetown University. Rabin excavated under the Haram Al-Sharif, and uncovered the remains of an Umayyad palace. There are no [Jewish] archeological remains. There is no Solomon's Temple or any other temple."

Pamphlet By Maldivian Islamist Party That Triggered Coup Against Reformist President Nasheed: 'No Law Contrary to Islam Can Be Enacted in the Maldives'; Government Taught 'Good Things About the Jews'

4525.jpg

A 30-page pamphlet published by the Maldives opposition Dhivehi Qaumee Party (DQP), which accused the government of pursuing anti-Islam policies and of establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, triggered what has been described as a coup leading to the ouster of reformist President Mohamed Nasheed. The document accused the Nasheed government of supporting Western governments in international forums, and claimed that it was teaching "good things about the Jews." Mohamed Nasheed headed the first elected democratic government of the Maldives, a group of islands situated about 400 km southwest of India.

As part of the protests triggered by the D QP pamphlet, on February 7, 2012, the Adhaalath Party, an Islamist party that had been part of the ruling coalition, declared President Nasheed asharam (a person or thing not permitted by Islam) and Vice President Dr. Mohamed Waheed ashalal (permitted by Islam), leading to Nasheed's ouster and the swearing-in of Dr. Waheed as the country's new president.

Below are excerpts from the DQP pamphlet, and from two articles, one by political commentator Azra Naseem on the rise of Islamists in Maldives, and one by Indian journalist Indrani Bagchi on the infiltration of Pakistani jihadist groups into the country, the arrest of Maldivian militants in Pakistan, and lectures by Islamist scholars from India, Pakistan and the Middle Eastern countries.
